ANYONE??? Its really annoying me, i have a practically new bulb in there. It starts out at the right speed (still blinking dim) and then speeds up. The rear turn signal also speeds up but is not dim.
-
Your GSX would only be worth keeping if it was a '99 with the 6-bolt Cyclone 4G63 (had one, VERY fast), otherwise i have to agree with the above said, go for the SC!

My drivers side turning signal in the headlight is blinking dim and fast, why is this?? Any ideas???

Pics Of The New Headlights!

LoL, the corner lights and fogs on mine are tinted out, no one noticed, lmao. <_< The aftermarket headlights are not as sturdy as the OEM ones but they are built well, and the adjustment screws are a little finicky, but they work. Def, no leaks yet, and much brighter because of their completely clear lense (highs and lows) Hey GSLIDE, can you get me some links to that LED setup you've got please?? -
A MASSIVE help for me was to change the fuel filter, i gained 7 mpg right off the back, upgrade to a fram. You'd be suprised at how much less gas the engine burns if it flows better. Seems kind of backwards, but it works. Also pick up a throttle chamber cleaning kit from BG products, about 25 bucks, that works awesome too, there is alot of build up in those throttle bodies, esp around the butterfly valve. REALLY? I am getting my fuel filter replaced as we speak. I hope to improve my mileage like yours. I usually get combined 18-19 mpg. Everything is stock in my car. Really, my filter was plugged horribly, and the engine had to strain so much harder to do work that it killed my mpg's. So did it help? Did you try some additives in your fuel and a throttlebody clean up as well?

I understand what you mean but there were other things i didnt like about the original headlights, including the main lense itself. It just looks outdated, and is very restrictive on light flow. Not to mention, with these headlights i can use H1 bulbs, and super high output HID setups. Im big on lots of light when i drive at night, (esp while speeding B) :D ) Oh, perfectly understandable. I think HIDs should be used by all cars. They're brighter and go far. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the ones you have on now, I consider them a bit on the cheap end otherwise i would have installed them on my SC when I first found them on ebay. To me, the Clearcorners are jewel-like and will probably going to be brighter. So what's wrong with the stock ones? you mentioned they're restrictive. I think you should consider getting HID High Beams. They'll work better while you're driving down those blacked-out streets better, and it has a wider spectrum so that you can avoid the deer population. Ah, well i do admit they are on the cheap side, but if you think about it, what is there really to go wrong with it? Mostly issues that the old headlights had anyway, and atleast this way i get the updated look. The lens itself on the old headlights was just designed restrictive. -

I got these headlights off of ebay, just go to ebay.com and type "SC400/300 Headlights" and they will pop up. My headlights came as a set with the highbeams, but you can get them seperately. I bought them as a set because it was cheaper. -

Front Crank Seal Question?
Lethal_Threat replied to Lethal_Threat's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
The master tech inspected the tensioner and said it was fine, the last timing job was only done about 26Kmiles ago, the only reason i did one so early is because of the busted crank seal. -

Front Crank Seal Question?
Lethal_Threat replied to Lethal_Threat's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
Well i found out you literally have to go through a timing belt job process to even get to it, so while im in there gonna change the cam seals and belt as well. -
I believe the front crank seal on my sc4 is leaking, but i need to know some specifics. CANNNN the seal be removed just by pulling off the harmonic balancer sliding the old seal off and putting the new one on, or is there any other complication??? Ya'll help would be greatly appreciated, my baby is dumping oil all over.

I tried every which way, but they wouldnt come out, so i just pulled the bumper cover off, only took about 15min. Pics asap

Issue With 12cd Changer
Lethal_Threat replied to Lethal_Threat's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
The 12 disc changers fail all the time and are non-repairable, What you need to do is replace the 12 disc changer with a pioneer 6 disc changer, I have them with the custom bracket and they are plug and play. ;) It would seem to be the changer has failed, since it shows no error message, and the headunit doesnt even light up the cd section. So would that sound like the headunit has an issue or is it the disk changer? The changer does light up and make noise, but nothing. How much for that pioneer changer dcfish? -
My sc4 has the premium lexus sound system with a 12 cd disc changer, but it wont work. When you put a cd in and close the lid the light starts blinking, you go in the car and the cd light on the head unit doesnt light up and doesnt operate when pressed, i dont understand why the two arent communicating. Any suggestions?

Alrighty guys my new headlights came in, and they are installed, along with routing my exhaust true duals from the cats straight to the stock mufflers, and finding a pretty serious oil leak all in the same day. LoL, it sucks, the main pan is leaking HEAVY, but that is a story for another day. The headlights look wicked, and i will have pics as soon as it stops raining and i can wash my car. I would though like to say YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE FRONT BUMPER TO GET THE HIGH BEAMS OFF...... <_< <_< <---triple sucks All in all the process was simple, and def worth it!

Wow never noticed they had a code showing the production date, mine were produced the 11th week of 2008. Gotta love working at a dealership and having the ability to order tires directly from the manufacturer.

I have a set of Toyo Proxies T1R's on my SC4 and they are amazingly sticky, no interior noise from them at all, no vibration, and AWESOME hydroplaning protection!
