  1. LOL... I like that. Maybe your car was involved in a case of mistaken identity....I know it happens to me a lot. My car is black. LMAO!!! Ohh...thats funny on so many levels.
  2. Just to add a little trick. Fill your engine wit oil and place a large poster board under your car so you can see if it is leaking... Just a thought.
  3. I would file charges too but most likely they will do little to nothing to them.. Maybe a small fine. I would find out who it was and kick their !Removed! or something else.
  4. WOW. Its crazy how we had the same prob. Also I replaced my MAF and that was the OVERALL problem. Now my baby is REALLY fixed. Im in love now and forgetting my BMW everyday that goes by. I get better gas mileage and WAY more power. Im a drifter/dragster so Im lovin it. :)
  5. The LEDS probably had a different resistance rating.. other than that...idk. Check the hi-mount stop light to see if its still working.
  6. I just changed my differential fluid today. I took it for a test drive and now my car drives GREAT. Im in love again. lol. Today or tomorrow just start ur car and let it run a while and take it crusin for about 5 min to get it warm. While the car is running....Check the transmission fliud level. It should be in between the two notches where it reads "HOT" on the dip stick. As far as the MPG meter. I dont even pay attention to that crap. My meter works but you cant accurately read it...well I cant. Its constantly moving depending on how you drive and does not calculate it for you. But I think it should read 0 while idling.
  7. Is sounds as if your lower control arm is bent, being that your wheel is back towards the door. May have been in an accident in the front. But Im certain that it bent if the wheel is towards the door. Also with it being out of place like that it may be rubbing the inside of the wheel well when you are turnin causing the noise. You can check by getting under the car and looking at both lower control arms VERY CLOSELY and make sure they look alike.
  8. Well from my stand point.. I love my is300. I traded my 2000 BMW 328i for my 2001 is300. I love it better because it had more power, LSD, and maintenance was not as expensive. My IS has 113K miles on it now and I got 20mpg HWY on my last trip from Dallas, TX to Houston, TX then to Prairie View, TX back to Houston.... about 330mi (5hr,15min)..according to Google. My own opinion is yes..these cars drink gas but you have to think about this.....Its a sports car. Its not your avg. 4dr. It has a Supra inside. lol. As far as cost for maintenance...you can save a lot of money doing it yourself. SERIOUSLY... 16K for a 04 IS300 w/ 53K mi sounds good. Just keep all your fluids changed, change ur timing belt and water pump, and ur good to go like Taco Bell
  9. Wow.. Thats a lot for an o2 sensor replacement. I would just get an o2 socket and o2 sensor from autozone and do it myself when you have some free time, If I were you. Thats should save you about $400 depending on the sensor you buy.
  10. To answer your previous question....My CEL (Check Engine Light) comes on and throws P0171 and P0174. I was having the same thought about changing the rear diff fluid and getting a new MAF sensor. I would also tell you to check your transmission fluid level and maybe change it. I checked mine and it was way too much in it. So that may be one reason for the shifting problems... I just drained it and going to get some more fluid tomorrow. I'm also going to change the rear diff fluid to Royal Purple along with all my other fluids eventually.
  11. Sorry you replied so late but the problem was back in Feb. Its August not and still rydin the cool life. It was discharged because the original owner discharged it to fix the front end. So no leaks, no shops, no money. I only spent $12. Thanks though.
  12. Yes, I cleaned it and reset the light but that didnt change anything. Soon as the engine noticed the MAF problem it threw the same code again. I even tried 93 octane with some booster and still nothing. I will just buy the sensor asap and let you know.
  13. Wow...my car is kinda having the same problem. If I gradually get on the gas it speeds up but if i step on it, its like,"get off me!" LOL. Its hesitating and I KNOW this car has more power than this, especially if Im trying to get down. Makes me miss my turbo civic now.. It threw these CEL code : P0171 & P0174 P0171: Fuel trim bank one condition; The PCM recognized a rich or lean condition on one engine bank only. P0174: Fuel trim bank two condition; The ECM has detected a rich or lean air/fuel ratio condition on engine bank two. Possible Causes: 1. If bank one and two codes are set together, suspect fuel pressure or MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor. 2. Oxygen Sensor 3. Ignition misfire condition - repair 4. Fuel injector problem 5. Engine Mechanical Problem. Its easy to rule out the things you KNOW that are not possible... In my case #5,4,2 I believe are not the problem. Seeing that the codes are at the same time, #1 would be a great start. A MAF Sensor is 79.99 at your local automotive stores and usually have them in stock. I have not changed mine yet but I'm going to clean it first and see if that works.
  14. THANKS! I really want to do red with white letters but I was thinkin the same thing about the reds matching or coming close. The black option sounds ok too. I might do TRD stickers if I cant find some Altezza ones..
  15. I'm looking for some "Altezza" caliper stickers for my is300. Anyone have a lead?
  16. Here's a few pics of my car wit 18's now...FINALLY. lol. Excuse the bumper..had an accident and calipers will be painted soon. 18x7.5 +42 225/40/18 Enjoy
  17. I like those rotors.. What brand are those and the price?
  18. How would you change the engine cover? As in change to what? or or you talking about taking the badge off? Also the steering wheel is expensive and you would also have to replace the instrument cluster to Altezza
  19. I bought my 01 is300 and have not had ANY problems mechanically. Just a few issues but it wasnt the cars fault. hm....cons...cons..cons....nope. I went from a 2000 BMW 328i with upgraded suspension to this stock is300 and it handles almost as well. Lets just say I love curves at 70-80 mph and drifting. I also like the is300 better due to the fact that it has LSD and my bimmer did not. GO FOR IT!!!
  20. From what I have been thru...That offset will stick out. You will have to do fender mods.
  21. I didnt know how to do that either..THANKS.. You could also put some LED bulbs in your hi-beams...They are 6000K so they'll match your HID's if you change them to that...but factory HID are 4300K, Correct? Well anywho...:)) Thats my plan..all 6000K. They do make other colors as well...6K,9K and higher....but only for hi-beam and fogs... Just an alternative to HID conversions...
  22. I was wondering the same thing. THANKS. I did this mod yesterday. It took about 5-10 minutes. It works great. Fogs turn off wit car, work by themselves now and the switch still controls them. AWESOME. :D I think I'm going to put an HID conversion on my fogs or LED bulbs because I have JDM's so its gonna be bad !Removed! :P
  23. My thoughts...You have to pick a color that represents yourself. It took me around 6mo to pick out a color for my civic (House of Kolor Kandy Apple Red). Simply because once you paint your car I seriously doubt that you would want to spend that time and money again to change the color. KANDY IS EXPENSIVE. Just do some research on the color you want and that best represents you as a person. Also before taking it to get painted make sure you research the painter and the shop. Try to bond with the painter because thats who you are giving your car too :D Look at pics or actual cars they have painted. I like Kandy Apple Red, Kandy Orange, Kandy Blue....Pearl Blacks...Pearl Whites....They stand out but look great even on a dull day.
  24. It works.... :D :D :D I added a big bottle of freon from Advanced and it works...Thank GOD!! I was getting tired of riding wit O.A. (Outside Air) Thanks to my A.C. now I'm riding sweat free. LOL
