  1. That MPG doesn't seem as impressive as I once thought. I just took my 04 RX330 to Los Angeles and back this weekend. On the computer meter, it stated that I was getting about 22 highway.
  2. I agree with you guys. I also notice a lot of things that come up with my RX330. I always drive it without the sounds system on. My dealership drives it around a neighborhood (with bumps), and say it's normal. To my opinion, they need to really drive it to get a good feel of it. I don't know if they'll want to tell you something, if they hear something different. Especially, if the car is still under warranty. I don't think they want to fix things for free, unless, you bring it up to them.
  3. It all depends on your tastes of cars. I was 26 when I bought my RX330 in 2003. However, my wife drives it to work most of the time. Her employers were blown away when they saw a 23 year old college student driving a 2004 RX330. The both of them own BMW's and are both real estate brokers/loan officers. You're not an odd ball. You just have great taste in your vehicles.
  4. From what I know, unless you left the key in the car, I don't think everyday crooks can drive off in your RX due to the chip with your key. However, anyone can break in and steal the contents inside of your car anytime. (Just my ten cents.) B)
  5. Can I still get extended warranty even if my vehicle is over 20K? It's barely 1 and a half years old (RX330). How much will it cost? I don't know if there are any fellow Fresnans here on the posts. However, if you have dealt with Fresno Lexus, about how much is there extended warranty? Thanks.
  6. I agree with VGR. Just find a way to prove to them that you RX does not perform normally as deemed it should. Just in my cases. I would have a problem driving around the south side of town due to the road. When Lexus tests the RX, they are in the north side of town, which has smoother paved roads. The tech told me that's how they test it. They drive it on their roads, and if it doesn't perform like you stated, they will not fix it.
  7. Mine had a lot of problems with a popping sound coming from the struts. However, the performance is great. ;)
  8. Just turn on your HID lights. However, remember to turn them off with the remote or manually when you are out of the car. Personally, I wouldn't bother wasting the extra buck or two.
  9. Make sure it has all the goodies you like in it. Try to find out the invoice price on that particular vehicle, or something similiar. Try if they'll do $300 over their invoice. Keep in mind that they'll want to move these cars as fast as they could, so they could meet their montly quotas, or get their new shipment of RX's.
  10. The dealer probably got it at around $30 or so. Anything to get rid of the car to relieve them of paying any kind of fees on the car for being on their lot, I think they'll sell it to you. They probably made a marginal profit, knowing that the next guy, would probably give them lower.
  11. I had that same problem after taking my RX 330 in for some TSIB for the headliner and moon roof liner. I didn't even notice the problem until my wife got in the front passengers side and tried to put on the seat belt. The seat belt was pulled all the way out, and someone didn't even bother to make it retrack again. Usually, my wife sits in the rear seat with my daughter. Good for her that she sat where she did that day. I had the service advisor come out to check it out. Indeed there was a problem. I can't believe he gave me an option: 1. I could take the car and bring it back or 2: leave the car and keep the loaner. As a human being, I would never let any of my customers drive away the lot with a malfunctioned seatbelt. To make a long story short, there was a part inside where the seatbelt retracts to, that they had to change. Now, it's performing good again. You should have them open up that area and check it out instead of just greasing it.
  12. The guy pretty much wants me to keep taking my car to Lexus. In addition, he had already preordered it the first time that I took it in. In that case, when I went in the second time, he just put in a "New" stereo.
  13. Thanks guys, I actually took it to the dealership today, and they did reset the controls. Thanks.
  14. I am just wondering, is there a setting to make the moon roof button one push open or close. I remember my controls being able to do that before I had my RX330 serviced for the brake light recall. After the service, my windows needed to be reprogrammed to open automatically. I don't know if the moon roof is the same as well. Does anyone know how to reprogram it to open or close with just one push? Or, do I need to take it in to have Lexus do it? Thanks.
  15. they will tilt down in either the l or r position. midway will stop this from happening ← You know something, my driver's seat started to squeak too. And I'm sure it's not by bottom rubbing on the leather either. I have also tried just wiggling the seat back and forth, and it does squeak. I don't know if I should bring it up next Monday when I take it in for another annoying sound.
  16. I have the same problem on my RX330 as well. I took it in at least 4 times regarding this problem. They said that they had a TSB on it and applied it already. However, it keeps coming back. I even took the car for a drive with the head technician and this is what he tried to say to me. "All parts are made differently. Sometimes when it's a millimeter off, it will make that sound. We'll try our best, but all we can do is keep going in there and lubricating the bushing." In short, I believe that he's trying to put it nicely to me that, it's tuff I got a bad one. At least he could've told me honestly that Lexus or himself could not fix the problem. At least I would have taken his word. Next time when you take the car in, get the technician in there, and drive to your workplace. Mine does it everytime when I back out of my driveway. Good Luck.

    Rx330

Thank you. I'll call the dealership regarding this TSIB. Kh046
  18. I recently had the opportunity to ride in the rear of my RX while my wife drove. While I was in the rear seat behind the passenger seat, I heard this slight rattle from where the overhead clothes hanger/holder is located. However, it is not coming from the hanger. I sounds like it was coming from the black stripping that's right by the window at the top. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm thinking of having the dealership check this when I take the RX in for 20K.
  19. I have a 2004 330. You'll love the car. I also see that you have the same color exterior and interior as mine. You might want to keep in mind some of the things that have been talked about in this forum. But for the most part, you'll have a great time with the car.
  20. Make sure it's the one you want. It finally dawned on me that when I purchased mine, it was totally different from the one I test drove. When I test drove, I believe that he sales rep took us in a sports performance one. I can remember this because he showed me that the + and - signs on the shift is almost the same as manual transmission. However, when I drove home, I didn't see this on the one I bought. Again, just make sure you are test driving the exact model or one that you are purchasing. 2004 Rx330
  21. My popping noise came right back after bringing it from the dealership. My invoice states that they took it out for a test drive and that no "apparent" noise was found. I am not convinced. The next closest dealership is about 150 miles away both north and south of me. I am thinking of trying to contact corporate lexus. I don't know if that will help. However, lexus needs to make sure that they stand behind their product. They can't be telling customers run around stories about getting a sour apple. Come on. This is a $40k+ vehicle.
  22. I've been having a lot of problems with my struts of my RX330. I keep hearing these popping noises when I pull out of my driveway, over bumps, dips, etc. I've taken it in half a dozen times regarding the same problem. This last time, the dealership was able to determine that it had a TSB on it. However, two weeks after fixing it according to the TSB, the popping noise came back. This week I took it in again; had a tech drive with me to hear the noise. To his conclusion; after explaining that maybe all lexus' aren't made the same and that some parts may be to the millimeter off, and it will make that noise. After all his explanations, basically, the message I concluded from the tech that drove from me was that I was pretty much stuck with my car and noise. The only thing that they can do is lube the parts again and again. Eventually, the noise will come back. I've actually driven many of their RX330 loaners, and have not heard any noise from those particular cars. The service person that I deal with is very honest and curteous. Howeve, this tech guy that drove with me gave me the run around. Any advices if this last fix did not resolve it? :cries:
  23. Do you guys have any pictures? Please show us.
  24. If you check the forum, you might come across some answers and some ECU part numbers. There was an ECU that was replaced in my RX330 in April. Since then, I never had the hatch problem again. So, after you have tried what the two previous members have mentioned, check forum for the ECU part numbers and present them to your dealership if they don't have it yet. Likely, they should have it already.
  25. Take it back to the dealer. Mine was showing Error 3 a couple months ago. I had to take it back two times before they finally agreed to replace it. The problem was that the stereo didn't show the same error at the dealership.
