  1. We had the fix done and it still scared my wife as she is the one who drives it daily. I ended up trading it in for a different car and now there is peace in the family.
  2. I took our 2004 RX330 in for a software update and there is definately a difference now in pick up. Unfortunately, we do not have it anymore as I just purchased a new 2004 Corvette Convertible to keep my wife happy. I had traded in her 2000 for the Lexus. Best to you all. Tom
  3. My wife and I both have the problem. The retractable device needs to be replaced. Tom ← FYI - there is another post in this forum in which a member claims that the retract unit and the hinge just get dirty and need to be cleaned. Might want to do a search in here before taking to Lexus. ← After taking my rx330 back to Lexus for replacement, they sanding the retractable part and it worked for a week. This morning it did not retrack again.. When I return to the dealership again, I shall insist on a new part. I shall report back when this is done and to inform all if this solved the problem.
  4. You have to have all the doors unlocked before the remote will open. I know because I had the same problem and I hope that this helps you. Tom
  5. Lexus tried to fix my 2004 by using grease and it did not work. I have an appointment with them Monday to replace the retractable part. I was told that this is a known problem. Tom

  7. Any solutions proposed by Lexus for this? How did you resolve? I spoke to Lexus about mine, not knowing there were others with this problem, and they told me there was no problem with it - "that's just the way it is." Unbelievable. ← I shall be going to Lexus for a free car wash some time this week just as soon as the weather permits. While there, I am going to ask for a replacement retractable device. I shall keep you all posted. Tom
  8. Has anyone had the problem with the seat belt not retracking when getting out of the car? Mine at times, does not retrack and the door tries to close on it. Dealer applied grease to it and upon arriving home, the same problem happened. Tom
  9. The advice on that link is for dvd5 burners. The dvd9 burners are out now so it should be a straight backup, and should get all regions. Tom ← I too would like to know as my 04 rx 330 has DVD ver 02.1 only. ← Tom, to my knowledge, there is no recall. Having said that, if you will read my post on getting a free replacement from your dealership, you should be a happy camper. Tom
  10. I hope that the info that I am giving you here will help you all. We own a RS-330, 2004 and complained to the service department about how the navigation system was directing us to the wrong locations while on a trip to Georgia. The dealer installed an upgrade disk last week and when I looked at the DVD version, it was the same 3.1. I explained that we bought a 2004 Lexus and should have 2004 disc installed. They set up an appointment for me this morning and when the work was done, I checked the DVD version and it shows 4.1. We are very happy campers. It just goes to show that at times, all one has to do is politely complain and ask and sometimes we get what we want. Go forth all and ask..lol. Tom

  12. Thanks for the info. We just received a notice today telling us about the recall and are told to bring our RX330 for the necessary replacement. Tom
  13. I like just about everything . The only complaint is the high cost of maintenance which I learned through this site that I can do at Toyota....
  14. I would agree. The issues with the Rx330 are separate from the wear and tear and maintenance issues with the RX300 used car marketplace. Perhaps the moderators should poll the issue. Kind of like a referendum. :) ← Now that is a great idea!!
