  1. No actually I did not. I sent him a pm but he did not reply....? Was hoping someone els may be able to step in.
  2. hello guys. I had previously read about cleaning the power steering solenoid screen. This is something I would like to do however I looking for more detailed instructions regarding the procedure. If there are any available I would appreciate being pointed on the right direction. Thank you all, Peter 1992 LS
  3. Is it me, Or do the 1st gen LS's sound awesome when they crank?
  4. Hey, In all honesty I just can't read that thing. It was warm when I did look at it and seemed high to me. Easy to see that the low mark is saturated but the high mark is as well, Just not as much, IDK. So that's 3 quarts out, Is there any recommended time frame that I drain and fill the rest? Should I do another tomorrow, Or wait? Do you have to run in the new fluid? Pete
  5. Hey everybody, Did my first drain and fill today and I got about 3 1/2 Qts out of the pan. Is this normal? I can't really seem to get the most accurate measure from my dipstick, It seemed a bit high, I replaced almost 3 quarts and it looks somewhat normal, I don't really know. I'll hit the filter next time. Pete
  6. I know what you mean, Some of the hoses are snap crackle pop up top, for sure. No blue smoke, Will be on the lookout though. Thank you sir. Pete
  7. Ok, So I bought some Mob 1 synth ATF and went to flush but couldn't remove the air intake hose (short peice about 8 in" long) to get in there. It's raining like a son of a !Removed!, windy as hell. So I figure Ill get back to it when it stops. PS fluid was below the cold mark @ operating temp so I filled to the hot mark and it seems to have stopped the noise....Is this likely? I'm confused? Pete
  8. Ok, Thanks a lot, I will let you know how it goes tomorrow morning, Provided we don't get 10 ft of snow. Pete
  9. Hey guys, I have some serious dings in various locations on my 92 LS, The paint has not been broken or compromised. I am looking for a good dent removal service in the Rhode Island area. Thanks, Pete
  10. Will do first thing tomorrow. I'm actually pretty sure there aren't any leaks as I checked for them before I bought the car, Haven't checked since though, Maybe that has changed. Can I do the solenoid screen cleaning on ramps? Or do I need to be able to turn the wheels? Pete
  11. It is most prevalent when turning the wheels or holding a turn under acceleration. I can't hear it when accelerating straight ahead. The feel of the steering has not changed. Tomorrow I will check the fluid level and perhaps try to bleed out any air as suggested by another post. If I put my head in the hood will I hear the whine from the PS pump area? If not, does this omit a PS issue? What would cause an air leak in the PS system? Thanks again, Pete
  12. hello again guys. So I pulled out of my driveway today and noticed a new whine in sync with the engine speed. It is only there when turning the wheels. I immideately assumed a PS issue. After a quick search of the forum. I've narrowed it down to checking the fluid levels first. Then moving up the ladder. Just wondering If anyone had any input. Thanks again, pete
  13. Actually I apologize for this thread. This could have been asked at any autobody forum. I don't want to waste anyones time. Pete
  14. So my cars paint really is top notch, waxed her down yesterday and it really looks great, However as I have stated before it is dinged to high hell! I really want to get this rig back to showroom condition but the more I think about it the more I realize how problematic the dents are, Damn NY cars. A local dent wizard quoted me 350 for the passenger front and rear doors and fender and roughly another 400 to finish up the drivers side. There are so many tiny, almost bb sized dings in it, I guess they really have to work em', none of the paint is cracked or otherwise deformed, I guess this is a good thing. It's pretty frustrating, They are so hard to notice unless it is a sunny day, but I know they are there :( . Anyway, I was looking for some possible alternatives. I only paid 2900 for this car, Maybe even with the 700 for dent removal Ill still be in good shape? Oh and BTW I removed the wood near the shifter, Got in there and cleaned it up and haven't had any starting issues since, Thanks a lot!! Pete
  15. Thanks guys, Am I looking for how to install an after market shifter? Or is there a tutorial specifically for cleaning that area? Pete
  16. I think I spoke too soon, Where was that tutorial? Which section? Thanks, Pete
  17. Ok, So my previous issue (when ignition is turned to start, no cranking, no click, nothing what so ever, dash is fully lit) happened a few more times late yesterday and today. After fueling up last night I twisted the key and nothing. For the next 5 min or so I tried a total of 20-30 times and nothing, messed with the terminals- nothing. Put her in neutral and boom. Early this morning, same thing, Went to pepboys to grab some tire and leather cleaner, ready to go and got nothing. After about 3 min I remembered last time about the neutral thing. Threw it in N and bang. About 5 minutes ago, Working on a new ignition LED (via LEXLS, works great). After I finish, I want to put her back in the garage same deal, Only this time I put it in N after the 2nd try.....In business. So, I guess I should be thankful that it is not the starter......Right ? A gentleman mentioned earlier something about a Park position sensor, Hopefully it's an easy fix Thanks, Pete
  18. Yes sir. Start is always strong. In fact it never cranks for more than a second. Not even when cold. Well, let me get out there and get a wire brush on those terminals. Thanks a mill guys. Pete
  19. Well, I went to go and take her for a spin to Dunkin D's this morning and had to turn the key 3 times, The first 2 times I got nothing. As far as I know this is a dying starter indicator. So, rather than plop down more $$ this soon I figured me and my buddy can give it a go, Until I heard about what a pain it is on this particular automobile. Is there a possibility of something other than the starter going? It has not done it again all day today. Thanks, Pete
  20. if you put in oil, you need to change in like 20 minutes. 10-4
  21. Jcrome, Thanks for the help. I just finished doing mine. 1 thing. It didn't blow out nearly as much smoke? I did put 5.5 oz as advised, hmm....? Can you use this in the crankcase without changing the oil? Just curious, I changed oil 2 days ago, would like to get a bit more time out of it. Pete
  22. Ok, drain and fill it is :D Pete
  23. Just a bit confused here as I have read conflicting information. Is a tranny flush recommended for 114k miles? I've heard yes and no. I was going to change the fluid in the pan and filter but a toyota dealer will flush it for 100 bucks, I figured what the hell. Thanks again, Pete
