  1. But on a modern car, especially a Lexus any sun fade is really going to be negligable on something 3-5 years old. As for the salt rust, maybe but its better than a car from a northern area thats been driven on road salt.
  2. I don't see how you could put 20s on an ES without modifications to the insides of the fenders.
  3. The rest of your pictures may be too large, try resizing them with the free image optimizer from www.xat.com
  4. Actually the black garnet is much harder than Lexus' black. Its not really that the dark colors are softer, they all use the same clearcoat, its that the dark color magnifies the problem that Lexus uses a soft clearcoat in the first place. The black is VERY easily marred because it has no clearcoat. I actually find that its really rewarding to detail, you get a different look with different products and the fact that the paint IS soft makes it easy to polish and get any marring out. Its not a drive it through the carwash once a month color though...
  5. LOL, sorry 92. I shoulda used a comma. There are slightly used old people in FL too though ;)
  6. Very nice, I like that new color. If you're posting them as attatchments you can only post one per post. To post all the pictures just reply to your original post and attach the pics one by one ;)
  7. That is weird, mine doesn't chip like that. Might just be a function of bad luck, a couple rocks had your name on them. I reccomend the touchup pen from www.autovisuals.com thats what I use to touchup. Buy a Black Garnet pen and a clearcoat pen, that'll fix the chips up.
  8. You know where you need to look? Florida. LOTS of nice very lightly used old people driven LS' in FLorida. I don't know how difficult it would be to get one from FL all the way up to you in BC...
  9. Sure. If EVERY country sought to reach out to everyone else and try and have a say or influence in the way they do things the world would descend into chaos. Too many cooks in the kitchen. I wouldn't mind living in Canada, wouldn't mind living in Switzerland either. At least they can get on a plane without a cavity search. Anyone who has ever spent time in Canada realizes that its really very different than the US, people are less paranoid, less stressed, there's less crime, people don't lock their doors, even in the cities. Its just a different way of living and all Canadians I've met really like it. They might have high taxes, but they're not THAT much higher than ours and look at all the programs they get for that since they don't have to spend on such a huge military budget. You get a job in Canada you're set, might never be rich but you won't be poor either.
  10. No problem! And I bet you had fun doing it too ;)
  11. You can also use clear or black rubber bumpers from somewhere like Home Depot.
  12. Yeah and you can bet nothing but the occasional oil changes were done to it.
  13. Buffer's the only way to really polish the paint and remove imperfections like swirls and oxidation. Modern paints are just too hard to do that by hand anymore. You can buy several different polishers like the PC or the Cyclo that don't spin in one direction like a rotary, hence won't damage the paint, but will give you more oomph and ability to really correct imperfections instead of just hide them. For a lot of studff though you still need a rotary...
  14. its 3 years old but its also really high mileage, and you can't verify the service history of it before you owned it. If I remember correctly you said it was a corporate car? That probably means it was driven a lot and cared for very little. A car is like a breifcase to people who get them as company cars, a free breifcase.
  15. Definately get the film, I wish I had.
  16. Those people need lives.
  17. The RL isn't designed to compete with the LS, the LS is more expensive. Its designed to compete with the GS. For now Acura doesn't have an offering to compete with the LS. As for the TL vs your ES, I would too but times are changing. Acuras are worlds better styled and higher quality than they were in 2001. The new TL is a style and technological force at its price point and so is the RL. I still believe Lexus is a much better car, but Acura is certainly getting there. Can Acura ever have the image that Lexus has? Probably not though.
  18. Canada has always been a very socialist society, works for them. I personally don't have a problem with it, thats diversity. I do agree that if they had a large military budget to spend on they'd have some fiscal problems but I think saying we "save their butts whenever there's a threat" is a little extreme. First of all Canada doesn't really have a foreign policy, at least not like ours so they don't really HAVE any threats. They're neutral like say Switzerland which has similar social programs to theirs. Being neutral has served Switzerland well.
  19. I hate it too, but thats just part of having other people ride in your car. The doors aren't a big deal and they make covers for the door sills lol Jill- Get this, even TRAVEL AGENTS more and more are taking our errors and omissions insurance because they're being sued, lots of people sued their travel agents because they got sick on cruise ships for instance.
  20. If I remember correctly the guy who did that to his gen III had been in an accident and all those components were being replaced anyways.
  21. That should work fine. Definately open the sunroof up and get the insides of the seals.
  22. Ah! Almost forgot :)
  23. You must be kidding Bart, New Jersey has some of the wealthiest areas in the country. Like Alan said, HUGE breathtaking mansions right on the ocean, beautiful rural estates, huge expanses of beautifully maintained yards... Not to mention Jersey has the highest average income of any state in the union, INCLUDING CA.
