In my experience the computer isnt very accurate. I get between 17-20 around town and I drive pretty heavy. Try calculating the MPG on a tank on your own I bet you get a better number.

Its just lower quality. Both leathers are coated. Now in 2001 Lexus moved to an uncoated leather...

Oh no, you can get direct input cables for $100 from people like Soundgate. You won't be able to control the Ipod but you'll have a direct aux connection. I thought the FM trans was good too until I heard the direct connect, it makes the FM trans sound dead and flat. Plus the breakins with the wireless FM transmitter drove me nuts, I have a wired FM transmitter now but it still sounds flat, next month I'm going to get the Viastech AUX in kit. The thing with the FM trans is it takes already compressed music (MP3s), compresses it into a even smaller yield (FM) and switches digital to analog format. Its like trying to watch HDTV on a B&W set. I'll find the links for you.

Unfortunately the 2000 is a hard drive based system, there is no CD all the map data information is stored on a hard drive that must be replaced to be updated. You can get them from www.lexus-parts.com I believe they're $300 and I'm not sure how easy they are to install. The DVD system came out in 2001.

For $110 honestly I'd look into some kind of direct connect, you'll get much better sound.

The LS430 came out in 2001, so it'd be 98-00 LS400 or 01+ LS430 ;)

To save on bandwidth the system only stores and tracks sent PMs if you opt for it to do so.

I believe it only comes that way, but you can special order any color combination you want you just have to wait for it to be built and shipped.

Some cars are putting audio input jacks where you can get to them. If you want good sound honestly I'd look into purchasing a direct input kit for it. If you're interested I can point you in the right direction for one. Can be pricey, but worth it.

When you're looking at the ratings on tirerack be sure to look at the # of miles reported, new tires look markedly better than older tires simply because there are less surveys to compare them to.

Actually if you look at the brand demographics Lexus owners are older and have higher incomes, that doesn't neccisarily mean they're more affluent though as I don't know if they count wealth as income. I don't see the same difference here that you see there and I've been to several Benz dealers, one of them is a combo Benz/Rolls/Maybach dealer and they're very stuck up and unpleasant, when my dad was looking to replace his LS they soured him on a Mercedes completely (a 62 year old man who makes almost $500,000 a year) by how nasty they were, one salesman about knocked him down to beat him through the door then let the door shut in his face. Maybe you have to be really rich to expect that kind of abuse, who knows. Another dealer I've visited in a less affluent area is very nice, but I couldn't get him back to another Benz dealer after that. Other than that one dealer which is obviously an oultlier the dealership experience seems very similar to me.

You're never going to see any diesels from Toyota for the reason that they don't have any and the demand in the US isn't high enough for them to go through the expense of designing one. There IS a huge demand for hybrid vehicles.

Why would you use Cross Terrains for winter only and not all season? You'd do much better with snows and the cross terrains for summer.

BUT, what about going down to a T rated tire?
