  1. It'll be wavy.
  2. It looks great! It will compete well against the Avalon, Camry, etc. It will not compete successfully with Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, etc in America since its branded as a Hyundai. We've seen GREAT cars that are excellent values not succeed (read, the VW Phaeton) simply because they aren't luxury branded. Nobody who a luxury marque appeals to is going to buy a car that would be serviced alongside a Hyundai Accent. I wouldn't. Hyundai should have launched a luxury division with this car. Hyundai is Korean, not Japanese ;)
  3. Yep, don't ask me why lol No AVS, no ML w/o nav...
  4. In the US its impossible to get the ML without nav.
  5. IMHO the ML is a significant upgrade to the base system. The only way to know if you feel the same way is to try a car with the ML system out.
  6. The car already has a clearcoat on it. All a clearcoat is is a top layer of paint with no pigment. I'm going to move this to the detailing forum.
  7. The steering knuckle issue is common. I had it on mine too and drove it a ton with the issue before the dealer figured it out. I wouldn't worry about it. It only comes out depending on certain outside conditions, if the outside conditions weren't right when they did the CPO inspection they would have missed it. IMHO, its a used car and they seem willing to take care of the issues to your satisfaction. I wouldn't be worried about it. I think this kinda reinforces my questions as to the real world benefits of the CPO program.
  8. This is going to keep happening as long as you keep using aftermarket glass. You're picky like me. I think these people who are satisfied with aftermarket glass aren't as picky as we are. I have never seen an aftermarket windshield I was satisfied with.
  9. I'm sure there are LS460s with more than 30k in the US by now.
  10. I have 'The Lexus Story" thats the leather bound coffee table book right? My dad is in the commercial printing paper business (he recently retired) and that book is printed on his paper, so we got some free copies.
  11. I don't disagree at all. Romney has the credentials, I just personally dislike him greatly. I think he's a weasel who will do or say whatever he needs to do or say to win whatever particular contest he's in. I'm not taking him to the prom though and I agree he's got the credentials vs the others. I don't think its an if. I think in a lot of areas we're already IN a recession, and when you look at the issues out there with the credit industry and the real estate market. These things are going to get WORSE over the short term, not better.
  12. But we don't want that. We want a president who can be in it for the long haul. Oh I agree, but in the light of what Bush has done, I think we need someone with a little more of a coalition building mindset. But when you look back on history you can't deny the benefits of what came from his leadership. Although it might have been different had he lived. And its a very real possibility. I can't see them allowing a newly inaugurated President Obama get out of the car and walk down Pennsylvania Ave to the White House.
  13. Hillary has always wanted to be president. Thats why she stuck around Bill as long as she has. Anyways I don't think anybody's going to bring it up, they haven't yet, and Bill has remained one of the most popular modern former presidents around. I was a huge McCain supporter in 2000. However, time, changes in the world and with McCain himself have tempered that somewhat. I like him a lot, and I agree with a lot of what you've said about his genuine patriotism, but I don't think he's right for the job today and here's why. 1. The economy. McCain has said himself that he doesn't have as much expertise when it comes to the economy as he has with foreign policy. The main hurdle the next president is going to have to deal with is not Iraq, its the economy. When you compare McCain to someone like Romney (and I hate Romney) its no contest. Romney has run companies in the private sector, amassed a huge amount of personal wealth, and has serves effectively as an executive before. 2. Foreign policy. McCain is a hawk, theres just no getting around that. In order to repair some of the relationships Bush as destroyed between us and other countries we're going to need to be a little more humble with our foreign policy. McCain's not suited for that. 3. Age. Its a serious issue. McCain will turn 73 in his first year in office. That means he'll be nearly 81 when he leaves office after two terms. He seems frail and he dodders at times. It concerns me. I am hugely impressed with Barack Obama. The promises and the hope are what make him such a great candidate. He has an ability to move and inspire people that we have not seen in this country in a long, long time. His experience isn't whats important, its the impact he has on people that hear him. Theres nothing wrong with hope and a desire for change, its been the driving force through many pivotal times in our history, and these are pivotal times. He reminds me a lot of JFK and RFK, obviously he does the Kennedys too. I go back and forth between experience vs hope. I feel really bad for John Edwards. Since Hillary and Obama are such groundbreaking candidates he has gotten zero attention and zero press. I agree with you about the suit. As far as SC, it has nothing to do with him, he won SC handily in '04. Its just that SC has such a huge african american population and the Clintons are so popular there, and Obama being the first viable black candidate. Edwards didn't have a prayer. You're right though, its a fascinating time to be an American.
  14. Yeah, a crack like that is absolutely a poor install job.
  15. Honestly? I would not try and install it myself. I've seen it installed, its not easy at all and the product needs to be heated and stretched over the contours of the vehicle's bodywork and lined up properly with the seams. Plus you'll be missing out on the time of year you really need it most...now. Call around to some automotive tint places and see what costs they have, make sure you get the whole package, the hood and the bumper, otherwise its not really worth doing IMHO.
  16. I've recieved their stuff. Thanks for the reccomendation.
  17. Its your call. But I'd rather have a cracked OEM windshield than a replacement aftermarket windshield. I've had PPG windshields and they've had distortions, etc. As for wind noise and Rain-X, that won't work. Wind noise is caused by uneven seams after the windshield is installed poorly.
  18. Yep, if it doesn't say Lexus on the glass its an aftermarket replacement windshield
  19. Let it go mburn, you've made your viewpoint clear. It used to be that the Xpel was a lot thinner and was a lot smoother, but I don't know if thats the case anymore.
  20. In My Humble Opinion
  21. This is why I never replace windshields with anything but OEM glass...
  22. Nope, no problems after long drives and I have chronic back problems.
  23. Well, if you honestly were looking for answers then I would suggest the next time you be a little more open to the idea that your opinion of what happened is not actually what happened. You had your mind made up, and nobody "talked *BLEEP*" to you here. All we did was say that the system may be and actually probably was operating as designed. You escalated it from there. There's a big difference between asking "I had an accident and my airbags did not deploy although I was not injured, could my system have malfunctioned" and screaming "My airbags did not deploy! What about my daughter?!?! My Lexus isn't safe and I wasted my money!!!!". Big difference in how people will respond to that. As for what you're saying about what the insurance estimator (who has absolutely no knowledge or training in how auytomotive systems work, he just estimates cost of damage) and the body shop (again, I would be suspect as to whether or not they really know how the system works or whether or not it should have been deployed in this particular accident). That directly contradicts what we've been told here by people in the field that airbags will not deploy if the seatbelt is not latched. Did you ask them about that, and if so what did they say?
  24. If the trunk mount antenna is better...I'd install a trunk mount antenna. Buy a Sirius exterior antenna, they all plug up the same.
  25. Mine has 5 years and over 100k on it and its just fine. BUT, its moulded to my butt that entire time...
