  1. i'm a gs3 owner and I love my car. It's probably one of the only jdm converted gs' around here in the states. I've gone to the extreme and had the admiration kit made for me along with it's matching jdm spoiler. So far, I know only two of these wings exist in the u.s. and I own both of them. One is carbon fiber and the other is fiberglass. It's about 90% converted into an aristo. I'm just missing the gte engine minor things like a front center speaker on the dash. But it's a great car. I'm running almost 200k on my car and it runs strong. If you get the car, take very good care of it. Mine's a 93 and people still jock my car. So yeah, I would get rid of your ES for the GS any day. You won't regret it. Just make sure everything checks out.

  2. thanx for the help!

I would recommend the aristo fog lights like the ones i have because they're original and have the yellow bulb. only bad thing is you have to use original toyota aristo bumpers to fit them... that or you can custom fit them. but anways, personally, they look way better than the u.s. version.

  3. sorr for the long wait, yeah, if you want to take out the foglights, you have to jack up the front end, remove the scrape guards underneath the engine bay and remove the fog lights... in the front, you'll see two plastic pieces on the inner side i believe... there should be one bold in each side. good luck.

  4. Hi,

I am looking at buying a 1993 GS 300, I live down in Brazil and it is often a problem to find parts for that car here. However a friend told me that this car uses the same parts as a TOYOTA CAMRY v6, as far as engine, transmission and suspension. Can anyone confirm that please? Thank you very much.

well as for engine parts, the 93-97 supra non-turbo will be an exact match... as for misc. body parts, the camry and avalon are kinda similar in parts, but don't know if they will fit i.e. door handles and stuff like that. You can also try looking for a toyota aristo. Those are the j-spec version of the lexus gs300

  5. well for one, you don't want oil leaking from your head gasket... that would mean you have a blown head gasket and your car would be overheating. so it couldn't be that. you should steam clean your engine from top to bottom and then look for possible leaks. if you don't find any leaks, then your car is burning a lot of oil. so check that out first.

  6. i've put up a post on the removal of these bulbs. do a search for them and see what happens.

here is a picture of the rear of the fog light

all you have to do is like twist the black disk and remove your bulb. carefull with the wiring harness while removing.

hope these photos help you. good luck.

  7. I wanted to replace the head unit of my '94 GS300 and was wondering if anyone has any advice on this? Is there some sort of mounting kit I can buy and also is there anything special I need to know as far as wiring and stuff?

    Thanks

hey what's up, i had a panasonic dvd screen hooked into my 93. I don't know of a kit made for it. If you notice, the shape is not a square. I had my my face plate custom made. So yeah, i think you're going to get it custom made my friend. If you're handy with particle board, you can make your own.

  8. The M stands for manual. It is for tiptronic. Now, the car won't even start. I drove it about 10 miles and parked it. Now it won't start. There is definitely something wrong with the electronics. I am in New York City if a Lexus specialist wants to help me out. My mechanic is clueless about Lexus's. Thanks

for your triptronics, you might have a bad tranny sensor... and about the starter, what won't it do? kick over or even engage?

  9. I need help cleaning the Throttle Body. I have never done it before. Any info would be helpful

Well if I'm right, you own a gs4 correct? well to clean out the throttle body, just removed the air intake pipe from the throttle body. Grab your throttle body cleaner and dampen a small rag with it. With a long flathead screw driver, wrap the dampen cloth at the tip, open up the butterfly of the throttle body and begin to swab around... this will give it a good cleaning... DO NOT spray throttle body cleaner directly into the throttle body. Good luck

  10. I am referring to the air filter intake....not the manifold so I am hoping it will be fine.

He car was originally purchased in CA so it should already be CA SMog Emmission Ready.

Any updated thoughts? I should not have any problems....except for visual inspection?

Well I'm from cali and as long as you have your vaccum lines hooked up right and the air filter working in prime condition with a C.A.R.B. number slapped on the air filter setup, then you will pass. It's not so much a visual they are looking for but more over the actual CARB sticker. So yeah, as long as you meet the requirements, you should be all good to go.

  11. Greetings. I'm a newbie and I have a couple questions concerning a RHD '94 Aristo JZS147 that I just got from Japan.

It came in the other day from Japan and I'm wondering what everyone thinks about the JZS147 VS. the JZS161. I was debating between them, but I ended up getting the older one. It has the 2JZGTE engine and auto trans, so it should be pretty fast.

Do you think I should've gotten the newer one? I got mine for $7500. What do you think?

Any thoughts would be most appreciated. Thanks!

    Terence

I just noticed that you're from california. Brak just brought it to my attention to as you how you got your car passed the DOT inspection at customs let alone having it imported? In order for you to possibly bring that down is if you have a letter from toyota of japan stating that this car is equal to the lexus gs300. I know this because I wanted to import one myself and did all the research. I contacted the company and I was denied the letter because the aristo did not conform to u.s. specs. So tell me how you got it... Pictures of letters and car and information, customs paperwork would be greatly appreciated.

  12. Hi...im new to this site so i hope i posted this correctly...I was wondering if anyone had any 93-97 GS300 parts for sale. I recently got into an accident and trying to save some cash. Im looking for a hood, both headlights, front bumpter, radiator support, and drivers side fender. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

    Thanks,

    Mitch

  13. yea good looking out man...all i had was some armor all and that helped hella now my light arnt pee yellow anymore...right on thanks

glad to hear that it all worked out fine with your lights. i'm always out to help fellow gs owners. enjoy your new clean lights. just remember to keep doing that when you wash your car. eventually they'll stop yellowing. mine did. they just stay clear now.

    TWINTURBO619,

I am hoping that you might be able to help me out. I have a set of JDM headlight but the drivers side has a broken stud on it. The headlight does not sit flush against the car. I was looking for a replacement. The car is a 1994 GS300. Any help would be appreciated.

    THanks

    redstar1428

Hey redstar, what's going on man, i'll ask my friend if he has any on hand right now. at the moment he's sending me a pair for my car. i'll get back with you on the jdm headlight request.

  14. What's up guys! Just purchased a 93 GS300 w/101k! Silver on gray! I was on another forum but didn't get too much help!?!

I was wondering if I should stay with castrol gtx 10w 30 from wich the previous owner used (Lexus dealership) or should I use a different oil or synthetic oil? 93 GS300 101k. Previous owner also did a full service on car including tune up at dealership @ 95k, when would be the next time for another tune up and should I use the dealership plugs or different ones?

    Thanks guys!

hey what's up and welcome to the club. i too have a 93 gs and it's a great car. take good care of it. i have about 195k on my car and it still drives like a dream. i still use castrol gtx in mine and i have no problems with it. these cars are very low maintenance. well i gotta run. talk to you later and enjoy the site.

  15. Hi all,

Just stumbled on this forum...hopefully will be posting here regularly as time goes on. I used to be an active member in the Supra Owners Group, but that was some time ago. Just wanted to introduce myself and my associated car(s). Purchased a '98 GS4 recently, and I love it to death. So far, all I've got into it is a first gen Millen intake, and aftermarket 17" chrome wheels and tires. And the requisite shop manuals...

'03 taillights and grille have been ordered, and Eibachs will be next, most likely.

Good to be here, intend to learn a few things, and hopefully give some back too.

    Regards,

    -Gene

welcome to the club... lexus is one of the most prestiges and elite cars out on the streets and market.

  16. my back plastic cover on the master key broke, now my key is very wobbly. Does anyone have an extra back cover they want to sell?

I called the dealer and they said you have to buy the whole key since they don't sell parts for the key.

If not, anyone have any ideal how to fix this? JB weld??

I would love to save 250.00 if someone has an extra back plastic cover.

    Thanks

i didn't break my back cover but had a buddy of mine send me an orginal japanese key cover with the toyota emblem. i think it's pretty bad !Removed!. so i'm sure some where there is an extra key cover for you.

  17. Does anyone know of a website? where I can find some clear headlights for my 93 gs 300, besides of the factory ones that turn yellow after time. I have looked all over the internet but I can not find anything.

I also would like to put an awesome body kit. So, I am open for sugestions!

if you don't feel like shelling out cash for new headlights, try meguires hi-tech yellow wax... it works wonders on cleaning headlights. apply and buff out. you'll see your headlights shine again.

if you notice, the amber piece of plastic is on the outside of your heaglights, the jdm amber piece is in the inside which makes your whole lens clear. i'll ask my friend how much for everything. i'll get back to you.
