  1. This just started happening less than 24 hours ago. I can barely get my car started as it won't idle cold. Not much better when it warms up. Only to the first mark on the tachometer. I have just under 180k, and this car has been super reliable. Where should I start? BTW, it still has the original plugs in it.
  2. Do these instructions exist anywhere with the pictures attached? My '01 RX300 just started having start-up problems (low idle speed, especially) and, at 178,000 miles, I probably should clean the IACV.
  3. Thanks for that diagram. It'll come in handy. I did find the actual service manual for the radio and cassette player. It's made by Pioneer with the number listed above.
  4. Anyone have an actual schematic for this Pioneer-built radio? The model number is KEX M90862T. I don't need the wiring diagram for the speakers, etc., just the actual schematic for the radio. Thanks.
  5. You are right. One has to look closely at the seat, but they are different. As much as I hate to, I'll check with the predators at Lexus.
  6. Wow... those seat covers are pricey! You answered all my questions except about the possibility of a passenger sear bottom working in the driver's seat. Google/Bing/Yahoo can be your searching friend and sometimes I forget that. Thank you, Joe913!
  7. My high-mileage '01 RX-300 has developed a rip in the driver's seat bottom on the left side (tan leather). No surprise there. My questions are... is the bottom cushion of the driver's and passenger's seat interchangeable? Is a repair feasable? What's the mose economical solution to this, and what is a good guesstimate as to cost?
  8. How much fluid should one have on hand to do what you suggest?
  9. Interesting. I had no idea what the "Clock Spring" was. And, I've had the squeaky gasket problem for years. All cures seem very temporary, sadly. And, it's such a fun thing to get to!!!
  10. The window issue and the P1150 code have been discussed here many, many times. Please do a search. You won't be disappointed! And, I too have a '01 RX-300 and I never heard of the steering wheel having a "clock spring". What does that mean??
  11. See my post under Flaky power window issue.
  12. Onlinecomponents.com. But, they have a high minimum order, quite a bit more than a relay.
  13. I've had ongoing issues with the driver's side window going up when it's supposed to go down, down when it's supposed to go up, or not moving. I removed the power window switch (there's a clip under where the lock/unlock button is), unplugged the assembly and took it apart. The four small Phillips head screws holding the light-covered cover are the ones you remove. Then, you'll see the circuit board. There are two relays on that board. The larger one is in the driver's side window circuit. It is marked CR2-12v. That's the culprit. After much searching, I found it on line. I replaced the one in my 170,000 mile '01 RX-300, reassembled everything and the window now works perfectly. Finally!! BTW, I bought two relays if anyone needs one and can't find it on their own. What a PITA that window has been...
  14. Got it Joe! Thanks a million!!
  15. Nothing yet... Anyone else know how?? Thanks, Phil
  16. I keep getting "Unsafe Website" warnings... Any ideas??
  17. What do I not like? You have to drip the last two gallons of gas in to completely fill the tank. Very annoying. The driver's side power window is a constant problem. Also very annoying. Whoever programmed the automatic climate control is an idiot. The AM radio is VERY lo-fi. Typical of Toyota, sadly. No dashboard indicator that the fog lights are on (minor). Automatic door opener only unlocks the driver's side door. Other than that, good machine. I use regular gas as there is not enough difference in the MPG to spend extra $ on premium. I have 168,000 on the car. Still has its original spark plugs!
  18. Likewise, please... phil.beckman at gmail.com Thank you!!
  19. Hate to say this, but I have 165,000 miles on mine and I've never changed the plugs...
  20. Now it is almost a year and 20,000 miles later and everything is working fine. Obviously, the sensor I used was the corect one, even though I had to modify the plug.
  21. I tried the pinch reset, but it doesn't offer much improvement. What bugs me is, I have four tinted "eyebrows" thar fit in the top of each window channel, and the window closes on them. Of course, the only window that won't work right (or now, at all) with the "eyebrow" is the driver's window. Window goes up, and comes right back down. Then, it is a real struggle to get the window to go back up. This is after I've removed the eyebrow in frustration. Frequently, pushing the switch "up" makes the window go down. I am absolutely at my wit's end about this. Does anyone have any solution? Have you experienced similar issues?? What do I have to replace? Is there any other adjustment aside from that "hold the switch" solution??
  22. Think Parts Express sells a direct replacement for the three-screw mounted speaker with 'whizzer' cone. And it is on sale now as well! www.parts-express.com
  23. OK, I'll try that... but not until I get back from a road trip to VA. The last thing I want is a stuck-open window in the dead of winter!! Have to ask... How did you arrive at that particular solution?
  24. This thing is driving me crazy. I put those snap-in wind deflectors in all four windows a couple of years ago, and all the windows have operated fine except the driver's window, which never has. That one has had to be coaxed up to close. I realise that is the jam or pinch circuitry activating, but I can not figure out how to adjust it. I have the manual on a CD, which aside from some really cryptic appreviations for topic headings, is pretty good. But, nothing on adjusting the window. I've read that there might be something in the owner's manual, but don't see any reference in my manual. And, to add to the fun, it recently has taken to going down, but not coming back up! I've taken off the trim panel and have determined the switch is OK, and there is a click coming from the motor(?) when I activate the switch. Every now and then, it goes back up. Believe me, if I can get it back up tonight, that's where it will stay... until I can figure out what the problem is. Any ideas? Suggestions??
