If the front of my car makes a squeak squeak squeak after goiong over a big speed bump at like 5mph does that mean I have to replace the control arms and bushings? or is that just me moving too fast?

After this internship I'll have a bit of money, only like 1500, to replace/add some stuff to my car. :D The other half from the program is mandatory for tuiton... darn...The first thing is the front windshield which is like $250 so I have like 1250 left for what ever. So here is my list of conciderations, anything missing?...any suggestions on what kinds or if its in the right pirority? And any estimations to how much each thing is? Thanks. 1. the windshield... darn rock chips where you can't easily see them...under the wiper blades.... <_< 2. cd player... I would like something that is low profile and not all flashy like I see in the hondas at school that blink and change colors, illumiating the interoir and costing them 100 hours of their minimum wage job. I would like just a standard cd player that doesn't increase the possiblility of theft. (If they are stealing the car I would like them to steal it for the car, not for the cd player...) *knock knock* on wood 3. Spark plugs and plug wires. Which ones are the best for the money. I dont want something that will eat up half my budget and I dont want something that will be 2.50 a pop like the ones my friend got for his 240sx 4. some sort of strut and spring set up to lower the car like 1 or 2 inches The breaks are still good and the 120k maintence and timing belt is not for another 9k miles. I already have the 97 + mod's and IS wheels. Thanks And, oh, where should I get theese things?

what if you found a soraer for cheap in Japan and had it shipped here and registered as a racing car... not that expensive right... then... switch the licence plates with the sc300 you own and never get into an accident? is that more cost effective providing that you never get into an accident?

I have a 93 sc300 and am wondering what CD player I shoud put in my car seeing as how it only has a tape player. The thing is though, I dont really want any of thoes theft prone things. What I would really like is maybe a newer sc or other lexus in dash cd player that I can replace the tape player with. Is that possible? Or am I just dreaming of something that isn't plausable? Would a newer LCD screen navigation thing fit into the spot currently with the tape player? I want everything to seem pretty much stock. And how much would these things cost? I don't have tons of money to play with seeing as how I have college starting this fall. Thanks for any suggesions

I recently got an 93 sc300 with 110k miles (March) and it's my perfect little baby. There was the scare of needing to rid of it because of sky high insurance prices... but I still have it luckly. If you take the car to lexus to do maintience it costs way too much, especially if its just an oil change that you can do in like 2 hours. For reliability, I have yet to have anything go wrong. *knock Knock* Just make sure you check out the car well before buying it. I paid 12k for mine and have only put in the cost of a few hours of time for an oil change and radiator fluid changing. It's a wonderful car... I think I have bought more for new cleaning supplies than maintence. :)

I parked under a tree and came back like an hour later to find it covered in tree sap! My poor baby! :o What should I do? :cries: It looks like there was a light drissle outside that wont run off! Its not too bad but you can definantly see the dots covering the car and winsheild! Help! THanks

Nice to meet you too Blk on Blk GS 300!. Set a weekend date and I can be there with enough notice becaue my program requires me to sign in and out when ever I leave campus.... It's over on the 20th of august though. End of july is not bad though, see how long it takes for you to settle in. Don't worry, I wont bring like all my friends, one if any. so... i have a bottle of fuel injector cleaner... should I or should I not use it? i have a 93 sc with 110k mi on it... would it have any benifit at all or is it just a waste of effort? the car is fine running, just wondering if it will help anything, like gas milage (i get 15-17 mpg while trying to keep the rev's under 2000 rpm!). should i follow the dont fix it if its not broke idea? thanks

oh yeah that good old dirt, pollen and bug guts, there is no way to keep the cars clean... here in washington, doesn't matter the season, there is always rain and the resulting rain spots...that won't wash off the sap from the trees... <_<

My brakes are squeeky when I step on the breaks unless it is really softly. That means that I need to change them right? So how would I go about doing that? Is it that hard? with a 93 sc300 what do I need to do the job and how much do you think it would cost? Any tips? Thanks.. I think the sound is from the front but I dont know for sure.

I called some places and most of them said that it was about 2k a year for me when I am 18... not quite there yet... i think my dad is just going to insure me on the lincoln and then just let me drive the lexus. the company also said that it would go down when I have more than 6 months of driving experence in addition to being 18
