we talked to the company and after some sort of negotiation with coverage stuff they said that i can be miminmally insured for 220 a month. Thats alot alot alot better than at first... i would also be taken off the lincoln too. thats fine. My dad still says look for something elce that I like... well not going to look...

yeah, the sc's are expensive to maintain... if my dad wasn't paying for everything i would say to put that money towards your education so that when you get your nice diploma, you can get a high paying job and get a brand new sc :)

:cries: my dad said my insurance would be 6-7k per year! That seems soo wrong! It's a 93 sc300, fully paid off, I'm female, 17 in washington! Perfect record too! now he says we might have to sell it to cut losses and i've only had it for two weeks! :cries: What kind of insurance companies do you guys have? is it that much? :cries: I don't want to loose my car! :cries: I wanted to keep it forever!

The manufacturer number for top speed is something like 146 for the sc300, but what I was wondering was, does it have a fuel cut off or a limiter on it? I won't top speed test my car cuz I cant risk getting caught. What speeds have you been able to get your cars to, with and without mods?

Is $124 too much to pay for a used fan shroud from a junkyard specializing in lexus toyota parts? It seems a bit steep to me. Should I still get it at that price, or are there better places to get one?

Are thoes GS Wheels? They look like IS wheels to me, they are the ones I have on my car.

I have IS300 17" on my car, I think it looks good, I can get some pics of it if I can get the digital camera working. Dunno anything about replacements or how accurage the speed is though, just got it. :D

YAY! :D I just got a 1993 Sc300! It's red, has 17" IS wheels on it, a spoiler and the second gen kit on it. It has 109000 miles on it and it looks nice... but was 11000 too much to pay in Washington state? Oh well, it is nice... So I have a few questions about this car that you guys can probally answer. :D 1. The car is missing a fan shroud, how important is that piece? Should I get one to put on? 2. I don't have an owners manual... do I need one? 3. I changed the oil and it took 5 quarts, that is right... right? 4. Do the mirrors save their position with each seat setting? Or do you have to change it each time? 5. How do I know if I have heated seats if I do indeed have them? 6. Are the fog lights supposed to turn on only with the corresponding blinkers? Or are they always supposted to be on with the lights? 7. The LED bar doesn't light up, how can I go about hooking it up? 8. One of the needles is starting to die along with one of the back lights on the odometor and the climate control... is there an easy fix for this? 9. Is the security system or theft deterent system do anything? There is a red blinking light and a sticker... is that all? 10. Are the doors supposted to lock them selves when you walk away from it? I think it does so some times but not others, is this an intermmitent thing? 11. How do I know what kind of sound system the car has? Does the words "lexus premium sound" mean the pioneer system? 12. Is it possible to put a cd player in the glove box? Was the car supposed to come with a changer in the trunk one or was it just an option? 13. Hello, I've been looking at the lexus sc and gs for a long time and have fallen in love with them, the prices of the gs are out of range for me so I've decided on the sc300 which I can find for less than 15K. For graduation :D I may be able to get one so does anyone have any tips on what I should look for when getting one used? What about common problems and things I should be looking for when searching for the perfect car? This will be my first one so any tips will help. Thanks !
