  1. That's about what I was quoted for the 10K mile service on my RX 350, which prompted me to do a little research. If you have a Toyota dealership nearby, check them out for comparison. My local Toyota dealership here in San Diego did the exact same work that the Lexus dealership would have done, and they charged me $50..
  2. Very well said, and very true. As frustrating as it is, Lexus will resolve the issue to your satisfaction..
  3. I guess I'm still a little confused. At first the whole car was a piece of junk, and in the end it was really a paint issue only. BIG difference!
  4. I just had the 10K mile service completed on my 08 RX 350 at my local Toyota dealership for $50. The Toyota dealership does the exact same work (basically an oil/filter change, tire rotation, visual and fluid level checks) as my Lexus dealership, which wanted more than $200. I'll be going to the Toyota place in the future. For me, it's a 'no-brainer', and the Toyota dealership even had coffee and donuts; no Toyota bottled water though...dern!
  5. I just 'programmed' my Motorola RAZR into my RX 350 with no problem at all. Suggest following gordonw's link, and print out the one page step-by-step guide on how to connect the Motorola RAZR to the car. I used the 1111 passkey as well. If you follow the printed instructions exactly, it should be a snap... it was for me. Thanks gordonw..
  6. You just posted in the RX 350 forum, so don't feel too bad..
  7. Mine came on the other day, and I thought it might be the cold weather, but I took it in to the dealer; and he checked inflation pressures of all four tires, and all four tires were 'low'. He explained that the sensors are set to a 30 psi threshold, so he topped my tires off to 33 psi, and the light is now gone. He also mentioned that the spare can sometimes be the problem as it is also monitored. But so far, so good after topping them off to 33 psi. Good luck!
  8. Doesn't your RX 350 already have roof racks? My 08 RX 350 does..
  9. I noticed a similar issue with my 08 RX 350 roof racks. Mine have notches that the cross bars 'lock' into the main bars with (for adjustment), which mine were loose because they were not fully clipped in. No more looseness after securely clipping them in.
  10. Try the local Toyota dealer. Same parts and service for a lot less money. Agree with the Toyota recommendation. My RX 350 is coming up on its 10K mile service interval, so I did a little research. Lexus dealership quote: $214, local Toyota dealership quote for the exact same service: $49.95. My conclusion.. I'll skip the free donut from Lexus for the $150+ savings at Toyota!
  11. Don't forget to set your time zone first (according to the manual), DST OFF, and AUTO ADJUST ON.
  12. I had a free change and I passed on it. So you skipped the oil change? Not sure I understand the logic there..
  13. But only for a few very brief seconds, along with a whole bunch of other ones..
  14. I'm driving my first Lexus (08 RX 350), and I agree with 630 that it's pretty straight forward. Button on (display in instrument cluster), down set, up resume and toward you cancel...nothing to it! I do think you're being a little picky if this is all you have to complain about on an otherwise sophisticated, beautiful and superbly engineered vehicle.
  15. Howdy neighbor! We purchased a new 08 RX 350 from Lexus Kearny Mesa last April, and like you, were very pleased with the sales/dealership experience. We had the car in for its first (Free) 5K mile service and had another great experience. So far, we are very pleased with Lexus Kearny Mesa.
  16. Does anyone know if these are normal/expected dealer service rates...seems very high. I guess with a Lexus, one can expect higher dealership service costs, but what is reasonable?
  17. Mine go off when the doors are closed. They do not stay on, or have anything to do with operation of the headlights..
  18. I have had 6 discs loaded into my 08 RX 350 for a while now with no issues. The CDs are a mix of store bought and home 'burned'.. So far, no problems as described above <fingers crossed>
  19. Sounds like your disks do not have the info to display. My older cd's don't display the names, etc. Newer one's do and one's that I make myself do. -Ken Ken, I have the same issue with my 2008 RX350. I am going to wait for my 5000 check up to ask the dealer. That should be in 3 to 4 months. Let me know if you find out anything. Thanks. Same problem on my 08 Rx

  21. This may be a little off topic, but speaking of tires; I had the car in for it's first service recently (5K), which is supposed to include a tire rotation. I didn't even think about it until well after the car was serviced, but my car has wheel locks with the special lug key. Is it safe to assume that they did NOT rotate the tires as they were supposed to do, if they did not ask me for the lug key (which they didn't)? Or do they have some sort of 'universal' key, which doesn't make much sense to me?
  22. The key here is #1. "let the fuel get low" The real question is what is 'low'? As I mentioned above, one time mine did not reset after topping off with about 4 gals of fuel; but has always reset after adding more than about 5-6 gals.
  23. Yes, I believe you can enter a destination and search for POIs using the voice command feature while driving, so it's not completely hopeless..
  24. My dealer told me that regular was fine to use in my new 08 RX 350, despite the fact that the owner's manual says premium, and so does the sticker on the inside of the refueling door. Personally, I suppose it's probably okay to use lower octane fuel, but I'm following what the owner's manual says and using premium. So far, it's working very well; I'm getting good gas mileage (ave MPG 25-27 combined), and the car runs great. I see no reason to change anything at this point..
