My new 08 RX 350 does the same thing, and I just assumed it was normal. It has done it from day one, and like you, I just turned over 5K miles. I haven't noticed any particular difference in the sound since the 5K service though..

When I topped off my fuel today (only a couple gallons), the average MPG number didn't reset. Everything else did, like the crusing range, etc. Is this a malfunction, or does this only reset when the tank is more empty, and more fuel is added, like in a normal fill-up? Just wondering..

I have about 4,600 miles on my 08 RX 350. Today the 'Maintenance Required' light started flashing when I started it up, and then went off after a few seconds. Is this just reminding me that my 5K maintenance is coming up soon, or could this be something more serious? Is this feature designed to come on at or near the 5K mile intervals as a reminder to take the vehicle in for regularly scheduled maintenance? I googled this question, and scoured my owner's manual with no luck.. Thanks!

Will this negatively affect the warranty in any way though?

This may sound strange, but I was experimenting with my RX 350 nav system, and I punched in my home address from a location about 15 miles due south of the house. What's weird is that the system kept trying to tell me to go south, when clearly, I should be going north. Every time I approached another exit on the freeway, it told me to exit, turn around, and start going south. Strangest thing.. I finally turned it off, because I got tired of it telling me to turn around.. Anybody ever experienced something like this, or have any idea what it might be? The normal map display is acurate in terms of current location, etc., so that seems to be okay.. I'm puzzled on this one, and I'll definitely bring it up with the dealer when I have it in next time; I'll also continue to experiment with it, but thought somebody might know what this might be.. Thanks!

I'm not sure that Michelins are necessarily OEM on the RX350. My new 350 came with Goodyear Eagles (18" wheels), and they're very quiet..

Not at all; the mirrors seem to cover all areas, if properly adjusted, and of course; you have the nav system, back-up camera as well. Should not be a problem..

I just bought my first Lexus in April, the 08 350, and I love the car. There are so many bells and whistles on this car that I'm still learning!

I'm using 91 octane exclusively, and am getting about 24-27 mpg combined highway/city driving, but mostly highway. My 08 350 is brand new (1800 miles), so I'm hoping for even better gas mileage after it gets a little more broken in.

My new (08) 350 has OEM Goodyear Eagles, but I was doing some very early research on what I might put on it when the time comes. I have always been partial to Michelin, but I was surprised to learn that the Toyos received consistently higher consumer ratings than both the Michelins and the Goodyears. I'm pretty sure I'll be running Toyos when the Eagles wear out..

Just purchased my first Lexus; the 08 RX 350 and really love it. The salesperson told me that it is basically the same as the 07 model, except for the chrome door handles and 'new' front grille. Didn't know that the 18" wheels were 'new', but my car has them. I do like the power, but really have nothing to compare it to. I'm new to this forum, as I am to Lexus; but if anyone has any questions about the 08 350, let me know and I'll do my best to answer. I've had the car for about a month now, so I'm still learning all the bells and whistles, and it does have a lot of them..
