  1. Yeah, I talked with a few tire reps and the general opinion was these new Goodyears are really a great design. The Asymetrics were just rated #1 at Tire Rack over the BFG's and Michelins PS. (Not that the Tire Rack rating chart means anything in my opinion.) So I was thinking about getting these and seeing for myself. It's good to hear from others expereinces, and getting positive feedback.
  2. Iv'e never worked on an IS 200. The only way would be to put the IS 200 spec control arm right next to an IS 300 spec, and see. My guess is they are the same, but there are so many other differences between the IS 200 and IS 300 that it could very well be different.
  3. ROTFLMAO!! I laid that one on em today! My brother was the only one to get it. I had to explain what that meant to my mom and my wife. I guess that's a good thing!! LOL!! Thanks Randy and Bonnie. Good to hear from you both. Well, your cousin and I actually share the same birthday as John Lennon also. Every year I buy a small tree from this nursery down the road, and I plant it somewhere. This year, I planted it next to the youths group home I do some volenteer work at. Some of the kids there helped me and when I told them about it, they actually didn't know who John Lennon was!! (Shaking head in major dissappointment.) So, I'm bringing in my cd for them to listen to it. When I find out I'll post it here. Maybe we can start a guessing contest and see who is right. LOL! I was hoping Texas De Brazil, Charlie's Steak House or Gina's on the Water.
  4. Nice looking rims! You need a drop though. Those will look nice and flush when you do. Love the black and chrome on the blue! Good choice.
  5. I don't know. I think SK has a good point. I mean, it's not like the seat is fixed. It's a 10 way power adjustable with an adjustable lumbar support! How can it be the seats fault? I know I have the seat postioned for my trips back and fourth to work and the everyday drive, and when I go on much longer trips, I move the seat to a much more comfortable long term position. I've been on some 10 hour trips, no problem. ri*BLEEP*hen7, if you don't like your car, sell it. You've posted threads your car not fast enouph, it rattles, it leaks oil, now the seats aren't comfortable and you wasted $36,000.00 on it. And it's all the cars fault. You picked it man! Do you allways make such terrible selections? Go get a Honda ricer and learn how to drift. Quit complaining.
  6. Thanks Blake and SW03ES! Hey raymsixsix!, I haven't seen you around much lately?!, No, no real plans tonight other than a quiet night. This weekend the whole family and I will get together for a big dinner. They are surprising me with where this year. The joke has been me asking questions for clues like: Does the restaraunt have Mc happy meal? Should I bring the Denny's 241 coupon with me?
  7. The Obsidian Black used by Lexus is indeed a single stage paint. Very few car mfgrs use this, most use a base coat clear coat. But for the record, it's all the same chemically, both types are urethane enamels. The only difference is the clearcoat is UNPIGMENTED urethane enamel. I actually prefer the look if single stage paints in solid colors and find them much easier to keep looking good. And the depth of the finish can be much greater than any BC-CC. Modern SS paints are every bit as good as the BC-CC counterpart. The only time I have ever known BC-CC to have any real advantage was with paints containing metal flake additives. In which case the CC can be applied to cover, protect and and smooth out the metal flake. Most car mfgr's went to metallic paints as they became polular, and turned to the BC-CC process. But most Concours winning show cars are all single stage paint finishes. There are advantages to having a single stage paint, which was why I specifically made the decision to purchase the Obsidian Black color. All paint jobs will have some chipping and scratches over the life of the vehicle. But the passion of auto lovers have developed great processes to repair single stage black, red, and white cars. Metallic BC-CC paint jobs may hide scratches and dirt well, but repair work on them is almost impossible, and even repainted panels are easy to spot.
  8. No your grounded. And no cell phone either! LOL!!!
  9. Yeah, my neighbor is a firefighter, so we'll just have him on stand by as they ignite my cake. LOL!!! Thanks JENunnez. All of you here have become a part of my "net family". I allways look forward to hearing from all of you.
  10. Thanks guys!! My wife got me a huge car detailing care package from Griot's......She really does love me!! LOL! So this weekend I'll be installing my coilovers, and then detailing the car. Of course I'll post afterwards.
  11. I'm not buying gas from there though. I have 2 stations I go to. Premium there is $3.56 a gallon
  12. We have a gas station in Winter Garden selling gas for $2.88 a gallon!!
  13. Just curious what other "high end" cars you were refering to.
  14. Yeah, if you buy the 7.1 nav update, they changed the I agree screen to a 15 sec. warning screen that then automatically proceeds to your map.
  15. Well, it's just that. An adjustable camber kit should be out for the IS 250/350's in mid November. They are in a testing phase right now. THMotorsports put up a post regarding it after I called them and started asking about it. ( I just bought coilovers for my IS 350 and so I wanted to know if they were coming out with one yet or not.) And it does look like yes. That is awsome news for those who have a lowered suspension or tire wear issues!
  16. Ok, I've been thinking about this. I already have the Zaino Z-16 and Armour all. I can easliy get the Ultima tire stuff and one other and then I'll do a comparison test. Each tire will get a different treatment. I'll post pics of each before and after applications, and then I will do follow up reports on how long they kept the tire looking like that. We'll use a scale of 1-10. 10 being just applied, and 1 being the product is no longer visable on the tire. I'll also measure any whip off and side effects. Is there anything else I should keep a track of? and what should the 4th product be? Maybe a popular silicone based one that claims longer life?
  17. Maybe you should try driving from the back seat?
  18. ^^^ That's all quality there. Good Post blk on blk. The only thing I can add is: 1) Don't forget to have enouph brake fluid on hand. 2) Torque specs:
  19. Wait, I just went out back and checked, looks like it should fit just fine.
  20. I don't think they will clear the brake calipers.
  21. Sorry, I misread your first post. Your right, afterwards it should reset itself afterwards with a short drive. What else have you checked? fuses and circuit tests? If my memory serves me right, fuse number 44? Wait, that could be for the IS 300. But you can find it I'm sure. The ABS fuse will disable VSC, ABS and TC.
  22. Ah-Ha!! The plot thickens.......LOL! Remote start system huh? Do you know which system was installed? Have you checked the trunk and the hood also? Make sure they are closed all the way down? Have you done any audio work lately? Have you tried disconnecting the remote start system to see if that eliminates the problem?
  23. Hmmm, did you read the DTC's before erasing them? What did they say? I'm thinking you might just have a speed sensor issue going on?
  24. Welcome to the LOC first of all. :) I would read this really closely. Car washing tips The only difference is I would mix in a Dawn dish soap to clean the car with this time to remove the wax you just put on. Then change to a Paint Sealant instead of a wax. Then if you want put a coat of wax over the paint sealant. I'm not the resident detailer pro though. But that's what I would do. You might want to look into some equipment also. Like Griot's Garage has a kit that works really well. Click on this: Griot's garage That's what I use. Some others here swear by Autotopia.
