  1. Hey sweetsuccess, I used to have a GS300 with E-shift, and although it was more fun than a conventional automatic, it didn't beat the fun of a manual. :D
  2. Thanks for all the input guys, I'll keep ya posted on what takes place
  3. Thanks Blake for the input! I live in Tampa and we get our share of rain here so wet traction is important, also I'm glad to hear that you're having no issues with the tires.
  4. Mbenza, sorry about your troubles, you are definately not experiencing the right kind of Lexus ownership treatment. There is absolutely no excuse for that at ANY dealership, let alone a Lexus dealership. I think you are doing the right things, I would make sure and submit things in writing, as someone said that carries more weight than just phone calls. Please keep us up to date with what takes place.
  5. Hey B2 I had an '01 GS300 and I tried in vain trying to find that wheel under the dash. It'll be interesting to see where it is, because if I remember correctly the manual states that it is under the dash. I hope someone can help ya with it because I surely did not find it.
  6. She looks great man, congratulations and welcome to the Club
  7. Hey guys it's getting around that time again, time to replace the tires. I'm a Michelin kind of guy, and Costco has Michelins ranging in prices from $151.99 - $178.99 mounted including their warranty etc. The only other tire they carry for my car is BFGoodrich® Traction T/A® V 225/60R16 All-Season Performance for $105.99 mounted including their warranty. Normally, I'd just go for the Michelins, but as is mostly everyone else in the world, money is more scarce right now, and the BF Goodrich tires are looking more attractive. I know that BF Goodrich makes a good tire for truck applications, but I haven't heard of any opinions of them on luxury cars. So I turn to my LOC brothers and sisters for your thoughts, particularly if anyone of you has tried that particular tire. Thanks! B)
  8. Hey smooth, I think it looks good, but ultimately depends on your personality. I like the idea of a badass incognito, so when some punk tries to race ya because they know they can smoke a stock IS, you can really embarass the hell out of them hehe. But some like it to be quite obvious to everyone that they've tweaked their ride. So I say (gasping in the background) paint the CF 8)
  9. Very true. Misery loves company. But, me being an optimist, hopefully we'll hear a reply ;) LOL
  10. HAHA, I support Hillary, but that is pretty damn funny
  11. That "racecar" IS 300 only put down about 230 hp. So I'm not really sure how that would llok. They had the orange race car soing prep laps and then put the ISF out there as well I think just for show. One of the LExus event guys and I were talking and when I mentioned my IS 300 pulls harder than the IS-F, he was very doubtful. So I went and warmed it up, drove to the paddock and picked him up, then we went to an open strip and I let him feel the turbo,( on low boost), his reaction was Yeah, this car pulls way harder, so when I turned around I switched to high boost. As I hit about 90 mph, a big grin showed up on his face, and he said Wow. This car pulls really hard! So I dropped him off and parked the car, ran the motor to cool the turbo, Which takes a good 5-7 minutes. So about as I was getting out he brought a few other guys out and they oo'd and aw'd a little. I showed them the car, and what the club guys are doing with the cars, JUST IS, SICK LEX, BLU LEX, WRINGO, and the SC's that were there from the local clubs. They got their photographer guy over there for corperate Lexus and had him take a bunch of pictures of our cars. They said that Lexus likes seeing what we do with the cars, and that everyone turbo charging and supercharging the IS300's was one of the motivating factors behind developing the ISF. Ha, I love it. Smooth1 you are indeed, (and rightfully so) the resident gearhead. Great post man
  12. Hey Erukian, I think that lady is kinda nuts. She wants top dollar for a car that obviously has things wrong with it. If I were you, I'd spend a little money (around $100) to have a certified mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection so they could tell me what was wrong with the car. That will give you a better idea how much its going to cost to get it fixed, which will give you some leverage in negotiating. Good luck man, let us know what happens
  13. Snow! What's that? J/k. My hat goes off to you all that have to deal with that.
