  1. That is really odd. I would definitely push all the buttons with the dealer, etc, as 350's are still really hot and if they're scared of not being able to sell it, then they're crazy and definitely out of line.
  2. I have the 250 engine, but I am getting between 28 and 30 mpg. I drive the freeway mostly, with stop-and-go, thanks to SoCal traffic....... I drive a nice mix between highway and city, not too heavy on the foot, and I'm averaging 20 - 21 in my 350. Russ I'm getting about 22 - 23 driving rather conservatively. I just can't get beyond 23 MPG.
  3. Also, you need to keep in mind that there is no such thing as "free services". BMW does buildin the cost of each of those services into the price of the car. Not only do you pay more for a fully loaded BMW, you also pay more due to the service built in. If you went to a Lexus dealer and said you wanted to pre-pay for service to cover the first 4 years or 50k miles, I'm sure they would be happy to collect your money up front. Plus, most high end cars these days (if you talk to a good mechanic) will tell you that they only need fluid top off, air/oil filter changes and that's about it. Valve adjustments, etc are a thing of the past.
  4. Anyone heard of the tranny having something other than the current IS solution?
  5. I would choose your clear bra installation shop very carefully. I had venture shield installed, but frankly it comes down to your specific installation. Mine didn't go well and some bubbles never cured. Also, although they did a custom cut, which they said was better than a kit, as the coverage was better, they had difficulty making cuts on the front fender symmetical on both sides. Hard to explain, but to me, it didn't look right. At the same time, I've seen 150k Porsche Turbo's with lowsy clear bra installations, so perhaps people have a lower tolerance on installation quality???
  6. I saw some replies from people in the bay area. So, did the shop get the clear bra installation done right? I just had mine done, but wasn't happy with how the cuts turned out, so had them remove it and got my money back. What's been the experience?
  7. Turns out the tint shop couldn't get it right, so they decided to pull the tint off and provide a full refund. The problem is that I now have some glue residue remaining at the bottom of the rear window. It's very difficult to reach there, but I know that a small amount of window cleaner will do the trick. Question: Does anyone know how to remove the rear panel just behind the rear seats, so I can get in there to clean the bottom portion of the rear window? I would have assumed the tint shop would have taken it off at one point to tint the window but maybe not???
  8. Nice pics from the auto show. has anyone heard of whether the car will get a more manual feeling paddle drive train? The one on the 350 is nothing close to the SMG and it would be a bear to see another one of those tranny's get into a car with such potential. hopefully they solve that and also add a couple notches past 180 mph on the speedometer, to show some more potential.
  9. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=34615 Thanks for the recommendations. I appreciate it and will try it out.
  10. Let it sit in the sun if you can to help the tint cure. It can take a week or so for them to disappear. I know for me my car sits in a big garage every day so the last time I got tint it took a few weeks for them to disappear. But I think it also depends on how bad the bubbles were to start with. Do you know if the installer had any difficulty when installing the tint on the rear window? Just wondering since it looked very tight back there. I don't think they had any problems, but I'm still waiting for all bubbles to clear. They're faint, but I'm pretty picky. In fact, I finally rolled down the windows and found a ton of tiny dried circular specs at the edge of the window (portion that rolls into the weather stripping) which I'm not liking at all. I'm taking the car into the shop this week, as they said they'll take care of the remaining bubbles. As for the remaining spots I just found when rolling down the windows, not sure they can get those out. If not, I'll ask them to re-tint all 4 windows. Did anyone on this thread have any problems with the portion that rolls under the weather stripping, when you roll up your windows? I expected that and the edge to be perfect with no specs. I assume everyone else has had the same experience?
  11. Hi, wondering if anyone has any experience cleaning stains off the leather seats. I've got creme colored seats and it appears to stain easily. I'm not sure if it's from my jeans or what, but it didn't take long for that to happen. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
  12. After getting the tint installed, how long did it take you guys to have all the bubbles disappear? The shop told me about a week, but wondering about other jobs?
  13. Thanks RJM, I just went over there this evening and had a good talk with the staff. There's a non-3M based solution which seems even cleaner. The 3M film had more visible texture, which didn't seem as nice. I'm going ahead with the install tomorrow, so I'll let you know how it goes. They have two options - pre-cut and custom cut. I'm going with the custom cut version as they wrap it under the hood to keep the ends tucked in and invisible.
  14. Looking for a reputable installer, given the overwhelming reviews in this forum to go with a clear bra solution. Anyone aware of a good clear bra and also a window tint specialist, preferably in the east bay? It's unlikely the same place can do both, but checking around.
