    Lojack

It has always been my understanding that Lo-jack is a set, controlled cost. Should you wish to know dealer costs that I can provide, but I don't know that it is something that can be shopped. If I am mistaken forgive me and ... correct me.
  3. Entertaining driving. Try not to kill anyone. Save it for the track.
  4. With only a vague understanding of the car I sure as hell wouldn't pay $7,000 for a 180k car from a dealer (I'll assume it is not a Lexus dealer). It would be one thing if it was the owner and there was documented maintenance dating back to a more youthful time period.
  5. Thanks for the reply RFeldes! I really enjoyed the program as well. I was turned on to it by the Shark ( BMW635CSi). I am slowly working my way through other interesting examples such as the Capri, Peugeot, 911, etc. Glad you enjoyed. Already 15 views and noone has anything to say?. What is the story with this forum? It comes across as a geriatric ward. Don't get me wrong I value its presence a great deal. But what a snore fest. . If I am naive in regard to forums that I admit. However it seems like anyone on this site must be car a car guy/gal and should be eager to share car bulls-h-i-t every day. /rant Hope you enjoy the post! 6. I think your car looks great! FWIW Very few responses in all realms of the forum IMHO. It is a shame coming from a thriving BMW community. Oh well.
  7. This is a most entertaining visit with the early 90's LS4 spread over five parts: Part1 Part2 Part3 Part4 Part5 His gallery contains a host of interesting cars... Here Enjoy!
  8. Mine were chipped and I had them repainted the factory gray. I would encourage that endeavor. I don't believe I have ever seen faux carbon fiber look like it 'belongs' FWIW. Or the real deal for that matter. Clearly a value judgement on the part of the owner. Thanks for that, but they actually advertise them as real not faux Still highly suspect in regard to a buttoned up look, but good luck.

  10. I was single when I owned mine and one day realized I was chasing more 'grounds' than extracurricular 'tail'. One !Removed! had to go and one !Removed! had to stay .
  11. In theory yes... I thought I was buying a diaper wiped garage queen. It was a one owner car from CA (rust free) and this gent in NH led me to believe it was his grandest creation. He had quite a few pristine toys surrounding it that numbed my skepticism to boot. Indeed he handed me $20,000 in receipts from the build, everything brand new in regard to the drivetrain. I knew it needed some work, but little did I know what I was getting into. Shortly the motor developed blow-by and needed a rebuild as Don's skills proved inferior. Once I had that sorted I was fortunate to experience first hand the nightmare of Lucas electronics. I can remember driving it on winter mornings and having to breathe through my nose so the windshield wouldn't fog. In the summer the heat wouldn't shut off. I had a Jaguar guru spend a day on the vaccum oriented climate control before finally throwing his hands in the air. It sadly did catch fire even with the 350...A/C compressor seized and ignited the hood liner. Too bad it only leaked water inside the cabin of the car as it would have proved more useful in the engine compartment. Once it was even dropped off a flat bed into a barbed wire fence.. The list goes on but it pains me to recollect it. FWIW it was a mover and a shaker when all was said and done. Most expensive Toilet I ever owned.
  12. Worst Car: 1986 Jaguar XJS V12 converted to a Chevrolet ZZ3 350 crate motor mated to a Eddlebrock 4 barrel. A good friend nicknamed it Frankenstein due to its color and obvious mad scientist rooted creation. That and it was a monstrous burden on my wallet. While very sexy, sleek and head turning most of it was experienced driving behind it on a flat bed.
  13. There are quite a few listed on Boston Craiglist.
  14. I have some ACTs / Ronals. No doubt the 16'' rim is less than popular with the demographic of the forum but I find them jazzy and period correct.
  15. Ghetto LOL Sorry, it is a supercilious form of expression sporadically practiced on another car forum where I spend most of my time. Right, a goofy, faux racing fuel cap borrowed from a Mustang and Eclipse would look schweet on an $50,000+ Lexus SC400. It is such obvious acumen why didn’t the original engineers think of it? Now back to our regularly scheduled program…
  16. Tires should never wear out in 3k miles. FWIW
  17. If it makes you feel any better I had both outer door handles break on mine and had to open it with a coat hanger, some surgical thread and a tool from my old BMW. http://mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=32771&highlight=lexus I ordered these two clips and it proved an easy repair: Driver's side part #69293-12060 passenger side part #69293-12050
  18. I may be interested in your Rear, Right Deck speaker providing you test it and determine it to be fine. Thanks!
  19. It is a common mod. with the BMW community I belong to. There is a tool which allegedly is helpful though it apprears the majority of members have no issue utilizing a baseball bat or such. You will want to get the paint good and hot to avoid cracks and chips. Some individuals have been known to do it on the side of the road providing temperatures permit.
  20. This should help: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...p;hl=silverstar It makes a notable difference. That and I wet sanded my lenses last year.
  21. Fog light switch is on the headlamp/turn signal staulk towards the middle of it. It is very common that the bulbs are simply burnt out.
  22. That is indeed a score. Personally, I don't care for any automobile with over 200k miles so I would probably sell it for the profit. Advertise it with the wheels still on it (in the pic) though put a clause for how much more you want with wheels included. First I would run a car fax and see if the mileage is accurate. If you send me the VIN I will run it for you. Good Buy
  23. You might try to find the original staulk from a wreck and work it in. Good question. I had not even considered their absence. I wondered in the back of my mind if it might not be a Nardi. I had a Jag. XJS with a Chevrolet ZZ3 350 in a former life Good luck.
