come to find out, the wiring harnesss on the driver's door was bad. ~ cost to repair 1000.00 Does this sound like a reasonable price?

I am experiencing a weird window problem with my 95 SC 400 :cries: . The power windows are acting weird. I can hear the motor running when trying to lower the driver' s side window but no sound when trying on the passenger. I have also noticed that sometimes my door chime stops, even though the keys are still in the ignition and the door is open. Sometimes the headlamps do not go off once the key is removed from the ignition and the door is opened. I also hear the sound of my doors locking while I am driving but they are not. Any suggestions on what this may be causing this issen and how much it will cost to repair?

Thanks dcfish - i have since had the lexus pads put on the car and that helped some but they did not do the shims. can you give me a little more info on what the shims do and where they are located? i mentioned it to my guy but he was not aware they needed to be changed. i still have a little squeal but nothing like before. thanks again for your help! ← I have no idea if they used anti squeal or not. Good to know to ask. I can now ask them if they wiped the shims off. which i kinda think they didnt. thanks for the info! B)

i have noticed my back right rear speaker is not working. first, can anyone tell me how to get to the speaker? (i'm guessing via the trunk but not sure) And secondly, what do i look for to determine the problem? Could it just be loose wires? Or if it is busted (which i can't see how b/c i rarely listen to the music that loud) This is the factory system. THANKS!

Can anyone tell me what type of pads should be on an 1995 SC400? Initially metallic pads were put on but they screamed terribly. They have now changed out the metallic pads to ones that leave alot of brake dust on the wheels. They are squeaking intermittently but before I confronted them I wanted some info on the types of pads I should have. You would think they would replace with the same pads that were on the car. Anyone have any thoughts? THANKS!

I have a '95 SC400 and several months ago used my emergency brake. Since then the brake indicator light on the instrument panel goes on and off while I am driving. Sometimes even when I am sitting still. Just curious if the emergeny brake hasn't released all the way or whether this is something I am just going to have to deal with. I can't tell that I have any resistance while driving. Any help is greatly appreciated!

is the mast that I buy just the nylon cord? I actually need the metal extension piece. that is what is broken. I checked ebay and saw an antenna mast but it looks like they are just selling the nylon piece of it.

anyone know how to replace an antenna on an SC400? the antenna got bent and now will not retrack all the way down.

any suggestions on why the rear tires on my 95 SC400 wear extremely fast? i am not an agressive driver :) , but the last set of tires for the rear only lasted 3K miles. Those were replaced and now after 2K miles, they are almost illegal again. The tires are wearing evenly.
