  1. My friend's dad asked me to do some research on it since he just got an LX. They go on long road trips and get bored sometimes. I read about enabling DVD while driving in another part of the forum but I haven't seen an answer to my question yet. So I was hoping one of you guys could answer it? :D A lot of others would be interested in knowing as well.
  2. Same question, except for a new LX470! Also, as for the Nav system, Honda has the most top notch nav system I've ever used. They trust you enough to let you mess with it while the car is moving. Also, Toyota and Honda had Alpine and Eclipse (respectively) develop their nav systems, so that's why they're less over-engineered than the German system (designed by people who read about human beings from a book).
  3. I haven't heard body kits get called "ground effects" in a long time. The factory ones look very nice though. :D
  4. I'm told that for best results, ground the intake manifold, engine block and the stock grounds. In some cars it'll make a world of difference. I drove an RSX before and after (without realizing it) the guy installed a grounding kit. part throttle and low speed driving improved a bit. In another friend's G35, it stabalized the idle.
  5. Shouldn't this go under "For Sale"? Nevertheless, a good VPC kit is hard to come by these days. Too bad they don't make 'em anymore! A bit more on topic is, how's your MAP ECU working out? Any difference?
  6. Did you replace them with new or used parts?
  7. My 92 LS400 has a bit north of 250k miles on it. Regular oil changes, etc. I was out of the house and my mom took the car out. When she got back, she told me the car started to run oddly and make a "strange noise." I'm not sure what it was, so I hopped into the car and tried to start it. The starter turned over really slowly like it was straining very hard and the car started. Meanwhile, there was a very loud whooshing sound coming from under the hood (Not loud like an exhaust leak, but more like an engine fan but waaaaaaay too loud). I revved the engine a little and it seemed alright. But then I turned the car off and tried to start it again and the engine would barely turn over like it was stuck. The oil and coolant check out, so no blown headgasket. No knocking sounds as far as I can tell. I checked the belts and they checked out as well. Any ideas on what it might be?
  8. One of my friends had a 01 bmw 325 tiptronic and he'd beat on the car all day. Floor it everywhere, drive around town in 2nd or 3rd to hear the motor. Jumped it twice, took it out to re-enact the dakar rally in the desert more than a few times. Nothing ever broke, no lights ever came on, but the interior rubber got dirty easily and rubbed off after just 20,000 miles. :(
  9. I remember reading about this a while ago. Though I doubt Lexus would do the same again, going to all the custoemrs' houses and such, they probably won't make the mistake of having a touchy cruise control switch again. In oe of my marketing classes I learned that Japanese companies plan very very far ahead. Sony plans for the next 200 years. Toyota is probably planning for the next 80 or so. plus lexus/toyota operate like they're about to go broke all the time so that way they don't make bad business decisions like GM has done. I love what you can do for me, Toyota!
  10. I bumped into a lady once and it left no mark on her RX300. She wanted a new bumper anyway. :( Ended up forking over like $1000 to avoid it ending up on insurance.
