  1. You don't have to go to a Lexus dealership for those! Save you money and just head to a car parts store. The numbers above are the standard, form-factor or format if you will of the bulbs. For example, a 7443 bulb will look like this (corrected for color lol): 2825: Most if not all part stores will have them! And they cost a couple of bucks. Surely not $100!!
  2. Put the new nozzles in today. Luckly, they had the white ones in stock, too. Now all I need is some dirt. Oh, I've noticed that the nozzles spray just slightly over the whipers, not in the middle of the windshield. I figure it's so that the water sprays evenly over the whipers before they start whiping. djspawn00, Here's two pics of the nozzles I took off the 98 ES300. The 03(05) ones are identical in shape and clip design. You could take your Solara's out and compare :) Hope this helps. Cheers
  3. I'm pretty sure the bulbs are fairly generic - there are a few styles though. I'd read the manual to find out how to get the bulb out (I think there's a section for lights & bulbs where it tells you how to get them out etc). Usually, you have to get to the backside of the lamp assembly and twist the light assembly about 90 degrees, pull it out, and then pull the bulb itself. I'd take the bulb to a local parts store and ask them for help finding the same type - make them earn their salary! Replacing the bulb is a reverse process. It's really not that hard. Shouldn't be, anyway.
  4. That was Fast! Thanks for the PM, too. I'll stop by the Lex Stealership later today. Didn't know the jets were easily replacable b\w different generations!
  5. I have a 98 ES300 and this winter season I discovered this little problem... The washer jets are far from ideal.. First, they spray in three thin lines, of which two seem to spray below the wiper operaton area So I end up with one effective thin spray line which is insufficient, needless to say. I've tried adjusting the jets with a needle...Needle 0 : Spray Jet 2.. I'm wondering if anybody else has a similar problem and if you were able to adjust or maybe replace the jets with another type? Just wondering what can be done. I've seen a couple of $8 replacement jets at autoparts stores. How are they, anybody has any experience? I'm hesitant towards buying $8 no-name parts..
  6. White 1998 ES300 in April 2006 156K kms at the time, 2 previous owners, carfax clean. Paid $13,000 CAD (around $11.500 US), incl. taxes The interior was in a very good shape, experior was 3.5/5 - one noticable scratch, a few minor scratches, minor paint flaws. Thanks to the Lexus Owners Club, I was able to relatively easily fix all the little things in this car! This forum is amazing! Repairs/Mods: - Stereo LCD replacement DIY - part $160 - Tires -> Bridgestone Potenza G009, around $600. So far so good! - Got rid of the trailer hitch as it would sometimes scratch the ground while on an incline (while getting out of our underground garage) - $15 - Spark plugs -> NGK Platinum - DIY - New Battery - Wiper blades -> "Reflex" type - $40 - Oil -> Mobil 1 Synthetic - Brake pads (got it with some CHEAP, dusting pads) -> Wagner Thermoquiet - $125 per axle. - Driver's side doorlock actuator - DIY - part $100 - Timing Belt/Water Pump/Drive Belts etc -> $500 - Air Filter -> $27 - PCV Valve -> $10 Items outstanding: - Driver's seat warmer INOP. Passenger side OK, suspect dead heating element. I'll probably pass on fixing that - not worth it. - Cigarette lighter stopped working as a power outlet - have to investigate. - Transmission/Brake fluids change/flush - Window tint -> 35% - Full detailing (as soon as I learn how to do it properly!) The car now has 177K kms. Runs excellent. I get a few squeaks here and there - some things needing oiling! Overall, I'm impressed with our first Lex! A very fine, balanced automobile, if you ask me. Here's a pic.
  7. It can't be worse than driving an SUV can it? lol
  8. Well this engines doesn't look terribly good does is?
  9. Tried that, but we have 2 snowboards and one set of skis! :cries: So I guess it is technically possible then, i mean to mount such a thing on a Japanese sedan? I've only seen them on top of SUV's and VW wagons :D
  10. It's this time of year soon when one gets his snow sports equipment out of the basement again! Hence the question: has anyone seen a ski/snowboard rack attached to a 97-02 gen ES300's? Is it even possible? If so, any general recommendation on what to get, anything I should know about using them? Cheers!
  11. I bought the same part (but for the '98) from these guys: http://www.lexus-parts.com I believe it was in the area of $100. Ask them for a quote!
  12. Not sure about 2), but what happens in situation 1) is that the car thinks that somebody is trying to stick a hand through an open/broken window and unlock the door, so it goes off! I would say, just leave the key to your wife next time :)
  13. No, that wouldn't be the problem.. I'll see what happens next
  14. I did the Seafoam-through-the-boost a week ago or so. I did notice some performance gain, but then I had to refuel today, and was totally shocked when I averaged just under 15 mpg city that made my previous 18 mpg look pretty damn good! Just wondering if that's normal/expectable/gonna go soon?
  15. Most of the cars I've driven were giving me 130 km/h / 80 mph at 3000 RPM, including my 98 ES300 So 113/70 @ 2500 sounds about right!
  16. Ah, well, in this case I was done when I bought a new battery...
  17. 98 ES300 - Cupholders... - Alarm going off after opening the trunk using the TRUNK button on remote..When I press the button, the boot unlocks, and I hear the single "beep", but when I actually _open_ the trunk door with my hand, the car panics out. (WTF?) - Low ride height...
  18. How does one reset the ECU? Can't seem to find the answer...*oops*
  19. Well, I wasn't racing him. And I don't care about racing others. If I did, I'd get a BMW or smth... I just want to get as close to the original parameters as possible.
  20. Non-interference, as far as I know. Manual calls for TB change @ 90,000 miles
