  1. Hi all,

I'm just helping a friend sort out changing his dashboard lights to LED replacements, before it gets taken apart I'd like to be able to swap them over in the one hit. From searching on the forums I've determined that the replacements are T5 and T10 (194) bulbs but what i'm not sure on are how many of each are required to change the dash over completely. Does anyone have a count on how many I'd require to change them all over for a '93 ES?

there are no bulbs. search the forums.

its 8 bulbs that in there, but you will need about 32 if u want it to look bright and as even as possible read lextech.org and get informed

  2. who installed new tires?

request them to do fine tuned balance(Discount tires call"Bulls Eyes balance"). Most people goes with 0.25, 0.50 etc.

fine tune they do 0.07 0.10 max.

    Hope that helps.

My cousin tire shop he balanced them done to '0' on the machine, I watched him do it and he told me that other shops dont have that kind of care to give them a bulls eye balance

  3. I just recently purches a 1997 Es300 With 123,000 miles on her...The car looks Imaculant ..Timming belt was done at 80,000miles. I have been use to the 92 series and I am not to fimilar with this generation. I have searched the forums and seen there is a promblem with engine sludge. Unfortantly I dont have the maintance records for oil changes.I Had my mechanic put oil cleaner through the engine and plan on changing the oil Every 1,500 miles for the next 10 oil changes. My Question is if there is sludge in there , would this process help clean it out??????The Engine purrrs like a kitten , No abvious signs of mechanical failure.

Another Question is, if the backlighting in the cluster unit should fail , is it servicable ? Meaning is there bulbs that can be replaced ?

That should help clean the engine, but try using seafoam to do a really good engine flush, do a search for seafoam and u will know what to do. The back lighting is not going to fail at all, 97 and up have cathodes and electronically controlled needles, so they wont die out like pre 96 -92 models. Congrats

  4. Heys guys im in the market for new tires, I have a set of 2001 Lexus ES300 chrome rims and im installing them on my 1996 Lexus ES300 and need to know whats the best possible tire I could put on these rims? I want to have the most confortable and smoothest ride possible with these rims, also want a extremely quiet tire.

  5. I have a 1996 ES300 with 96K miles. I've noticed a slight vibration in the front end when driving at speeds above 30 mph. I had a both axels replaced at 84k miles.Usually I feel some minor vibration or shimmy through the steering wheel but more so in the body of the vehicle. It continues up to highway speeds but doesn't seem to be more profound at higher speeds. When driving over pavement markers (those hard plastic raised circles or squares on the pavement that mark the lanes on the road) the steering seems to over-respond, pulling to the left or the right, more so than what I experience in other vehicles. After having replaced the ball joints on another vehicle replaced (Ford Explorer 2002 with 75K miles) I've started to wonder if this is the same situation needing to be addressed. The car has been well maintained . There wasn't any mention at Lexus of the need to address ball joints at that time. At the last service internal they couldn't sense the problem with vibration. The car doesn't drift to the left or right when I have my hands off the steering, nor does it drift under braking.

Does this sound like an alignment or ball joint problem? And if it is ball joints, what needs to be replaced and does anyone have an idea as to what it might cost to replace?

Could it be my tires? I have Goodyear Assurance Triple Thread V rated tires about 95% tread left.

  6. Heys guys I dont know if its a problem but every time I go over bumps small, large or medium I feel it on my steering wheel and it sometimes causes the steering wheel to jerk a little, now I had my inner and outter tie rods replaced at toyota when I had my timing belt replaced but I still feel alot of the road on my steering if anyone has any idea what it could be please feel free to comment.
