Thanks SW your strate to the point, I wonder how I can find out if the bag will bolt on and I went on leatheriques web and found a place 15 minutes away from me that can dye it black, but will have to make a couple of phone calls to see if that bag will bolt on, cause I know 97-01 ES bags are the same shape, but the bolts might not line up. If you can help me find out, as I will try to find out to I would be very appreciative. Thanks

Look man I have a 1996 ES300, I purchased a used 2001 ES300 steering wheel with the woodgrain in black and found out that my 1996 ES300 airbag doesnt fit on that wheel, so I have been searching for a black airbag for a 1997-2001 ES300 cause any of those years airbag fits on that 2001 ES300 steering wheel. The problem is I cant find the dam airbag in any of those years 97-01 in BLACK. Now question was if I could buy a tan airbag from 1997-2001 ES300 and dye it or color it in black somehow. So I need input if its possible to paint it from tan to black. I also know my years dude 92-93 3VZ-FE 94-96 1mz-fe same body style, 97-2001 1mz-fe different body style different airbag system and shape.

good tip dude, here is a question.
1) Will a 1997 ES300 airbag work with a 1996 ES300 if I have the steering wheel and airbag ready to install, is it a compatible airbag system?
-
would it be a satin black or Landau black?
would it be a satin black or Landau black?
no the 97 airbag is going inside a 96ES300 with a 2001 ES300 steering wheel. I cant find the airbag in black so if I dyed a tan airbag it would save the trouble looking for a black one.
-
I don't know how it would turn out, but there are dash paints that some people paint their interiors with. Maybe that would work better than dye.
where would I find a kit like this
-
I found some leather dye kits online and they seem promising but Im not to sure if it will work. So if someone has any tips I could use I would appreciate

Hey guys I bought a 2001 ES300 Steering wheel in black with the woodgrain on it and I cant find the airbag in black anywhere. I heard that I can dye these airbags to whatever color I want, I found a tan airbag for 50 bucks and want to know if its possible to dye it in black. What brand or method should I take. I have a pic of what Im looking for.
Also will a 1997 ES airbag fit on a 2001 ES steering wheel?
Any help would be very appreciated

I'd like to put synthetic ATF in my car. Is it ok just to drain and fill once or twice with synthetic and the end result will be a mix of synthetic and dexron III, or I have to flush it and fill it completely with synthetic. TIA for any help.
You will damage your transmission if u mix it with anything else other than Dexron III. Drain and fill with fresh dexron III or just flush with dexron, but DONT put that other stuff in your trans, also put a trans filter on to prolong your transmissions life.

My Uncles 1994 Lexus ES300 suspension is in great shape but his rear end of his car makes a thumping noise when he goes over small bumps. Now I read that if your bump stop are drie that they start to make noise is this true and does anyone have any suggestions on how to lube these bump stops.
The "bump stops" are for large bumps not small bumps, so I would check the rear struts to see if the shock absorbers are doing their job properly.
okay then what preventive messures should I take so it wont happen to my 1996 ES300, as far as the bump stops and strut mounts are concerned?

Mine are 6000K philips uliton's
My buddy of mine has a LS and his hid kit is 8000k and it looks super white with a hint of blue from side angels, so I might just go with the brighter kelvin and toys yours look sick as hell and ur Lex.
-
6000K really isn't that blue - it's just whiter once it's warmed up & is a deep purple->light blue as it warms up.
Maybe a 6-7K korean bulb get's really blue, but not good bulbs.
What kind r those toysrme?
-
What the best Kelvin rating for a HID bulb? Im looking for that ultra hyper white look with a hint or purple

Hi,
After installing the needles in the instrument cluster - the temp sensor needle has lost its correct position and now it shows more than half when the car is warm & also the resting position has changed from bottom to 1/4th up.
How should I fix the orignal position of needle so it shows me correct temperatues.
Thanks.
Pull it back off and put it back on, you put it on wrong

Hey guys I was wondering what kind of lubrication or grease can I use to quiet my drive pulleys on my car they are a little noisey.
-
that's the exact wording of my 02, then they flipped the wording in 03 but didn't do a thing to the engine.
At over $3.25 for 93 octane (no 91 in the area), mine's getting 87 or 89 until I hear a ping or a knock.
steviej
SUNOCO has 91 octane and thats what I put in my 96 ES with 82,000 miles.

Naturally, I hope that I love them rather than hate them.
I didnt know that KYB makes the OEM struts for Toyota and Lexus
-
Yeeesh, I was quoted $400 years ago to replace both my axles LoL!
Right I had both of mine done including labor for $230.00. (50 for each axel and 130 for labor not to bad.)
-
Mine has a svery small leak as well, should I put the new gasket on without any sealant and how much psi should put on the bolts when I put the cover back on.

Walmart is the largest oil change place in the US.
Atleast they're not jiffylube! <Insert the "ATF in the brake resivor" story>
Make sure the gasket is not stuck on the opening where the filter goes and see if that gasket got stuck on the opening, they might of left the old gasket stuck on the filter opening.

Hey guys I included a pic of my car with circles around the clips that r broken on my drivers door and near the back of the left passenger door. I want to know if there is a clips I can buy or if there is a easy way of fixing this problem. Thanks
-
went to autozone and found out that my abs or one of my sensors r bad.
-
Bill,
All hope is not lost.
Check out this company as I have heard good things about them from several members.
They can incorporate wood into your current wheel.
steviej
Yeah I had them do mine and the good thing is that they had my steering wheel in stock and made it while I keep using my car. Then they sent it to me after they finish and I sent them my old wheel back.

well if I were to put the 97 bag in place on that 01 wheel wouldnt it fall in place since its the same shape? cause if it does Im sure I can figure out a way to customize it to bolt on.
