i have a 97 es300, i took it to the delear because it was embarrassing to hear screeching when i pull up in the lexus, they say its because i have semi metallic pads, if I change them too ceramic, will that fix this noise, will i have to get the rotors turned or just add the new brakes and see what happens,! What other type of brakes are good!? Organic, or is ceramic fine enough! Im going to change them myself, any help or tips would be appreciated! isnt there a break in period for all brakes!? Wait a while, like you said too thick, they have to accomodate to your rotor!!

thats harsh, not even your lawnmower huh?! Nah it s the front right side! Even though they changed the sway bar links, you hear some bouncing when you go over bumps or in pot holes. I have new struts , i m guessing the strut mount wasnt replaced, or may be it was, but something is bouncing up and down! I s it true that you have to remove the struts to get to the strut mounts? Thats why the labor is so much?! Someone give me the inside scoop please!!!

I'm kinda scared, but now they are thinking its the secondary Strut Mounts !?!?!? Whatever that is, and they are giving me a quote of $ 530 , talking about they have to take the struts all the way off the vehicle to get to them. What is a seconary strut mount, i thought they only had one! Bad thing is , i aint rich or nothing, but I want the noise to stop!!! Im going to let them mes my car up some more, well overcharge me anyways,

More problems I report to consumer affairs I came to this location at 8:14 am and didn’t leave till after closing at 5:15 p.m. They supposedly changed both Swar bar links kits- (part # k90312) for $154 each, when the dealers says the parts are $73. My car is still making the same noise. Also charged 88.79 for labor! I just wanna know is this the usual service? I am a die hard firestone customer. I also have a lifetime alignment on all 3 of my cars that I bring you all. When I asked for an alignment and a spec sheet to take to get a state inspection, I was declined one, saying that it is in specifications, and they just did an alignment re-check. I don’t wanna go to the BBB , but this very unprofessional, I know they charge a little extra for parts, but not double the amount plus some. Let me know how I should proceed, or if this can be fixed. I payed out 416.51 dollars for this service and my problem is still not fixed. Sincerely, Coley Coleman

just had my sway bar links replaced at firestone, they charged me 154 for the stabilizer bar control links. it still makes noise when i go over bumps! is this normal, did they jack me again?? they say the stabilizer bar control links were bad, and moving. Please elaborate for me please!!!

stand in front of the struts, use both of your hands press it down real fast and real hard, if it sinks in real fast and doesn't bounce right back, yup, it's the struts Even if it doesnt make no noise when i do that? does that indicate its bad? only when i go over bumps, i hear noises, or when i turn sharp rights or lefts, i need help and dont want to come out of 95 bucks for a real diagnostic at the dealership!! is that the only test to make sure its the struts!? Thanks in advance

Where is the best place online or store to get front struts and strut mounts, and motor mounts for a good price?! Any ideas is appreciated?

all i can say is i pput it in my brake booster, and in the gas tank, i started to pour it in my oil , but changed my mind, even though about 2 -3 teaspoons dripped inside. Regardless , i'm telling you theses guys know what they are talking about!! It did smokw for a while and kept switching gears as i drove! I even applied a second treatment, all i can say is i use to have a dragging sensation in my 97 es 300 with 120000 miles, but im sure i gained some horsepowe! Its evident because i use to be very cautious when switching lanes on the hwy, now i can cut off anybody, LMAO. That should speak for itself. Thanks , Toy and SK

What did / do you clean the valves with? What do you clean when you open the valve cover? Or do i just replace the gasket and leave everything else alone!?

I actually attempted that with Line out converters but the wires are not speaker wires, thus the sound was very distorted. However they do make a harness that will connect an aftermarket radio to the factory Amp and speakers, losing the cd changer, but I addedan aftermarke amp and box also! You will have to basically lose the OEM.

They are saying i have to wait a certain number of miles and intervals before the computer learns my driving habts and resets itself!! Is this true? I cant pass without the components being ready for the emissions test! They said it has to broken in like a new car!!

Failed Inspection- Driving Interval due to OBD II system not ready! PErson said it was due to the battery being replaced the computer is reset! He said to drive 70 Miles and come back! That didnt work it is still coming up Catalyst- not ready, Air/fuel sensors- not ready, oxygen sensors - not ready, etc.... What is the deriving cycle to reset the cfomputer in a 97 Lexus ES300, any advice is apreciated!!! Thanks, Coley

Does that mean the universal oxygen sensors wont fit? So if I get under the car, where at by the fire wall? under it? Reach where? Middle, right left, how far up? What tools do i need!? What type of car do you have!? Help well turns out that i had the wrong part i had a o2sensor but the plug was different so couldnt plug in... searched for air fuel sensor found one, had the same end that i needed so i ordered it. but thanks for your help on everything i love this site ← ← you actually have 3, u have a o2 sensor1 bank 2 sensor 1 which is in the front by your radiator, u have o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1, which is in the rear of the engine by the firewall its kinda easy to get from buttom, but mine was seazed up i turned it like 2 times and then no more so i brought it to a shop, and then the 3rd one is on the exhaust towards rear of car by cat converter... on my car the o2 sensors were called air/fuel ratio sensors, i bought a normal o2 sensor for it but it was not the right one because it didnt plug in so i had to order a air/fuel ratio sensor from www.lexuspartsstore.com i believe for like 200 bux. hope that helps ←
