  1. Hey SpeedRacer.. Are you just giving the wheel away, or are you asking a price for it? I have a 96, re-badged Windom (Es300) and am curious as to would it fit mine? Mine doesnt have cruise control, so dont need to worry about that.. But I do have the airbag...Anyone able to help here.. I am also still looking for Lexus wheel caps... Chris
  2. I prefer the second kit on the champain Windom.. But it needs a large light in the top hole of the spoiler.. Like they have on custom Celciors (LS400) here.. Also I was looking at a place here, that is called UP GARAGE.. Strange name I know, but anyways, they had a second hand front kit for a (I cant even remember) but anyways, it looks like the same dementions for a 2nd gen ES, even down to the cut out for the longer grille to fit. It is worth Yen9,000 $75.. Anyways beats paying thousands for something, and atleast I get to fit this one and play with it myself?.. I will see how I go.. I am really only looking for something for the front, as I find that it is the only part of the car that looks bare.. as far as the side and back go, I will just find some small skirting to go around. I really dont think it needs to go very low at all... Chris
  3. I have looked around for body kits also.. I am not really all that taken with what they are offering for the older model ES.. I am thinking of either finding someone o build mine ,or try and convert another.. I have played in paintshop, and this is what I came up with.. Hope you like.. Chris
  4. Here is my rude head. And oh. In the back we have Bub riding in her custom made Lexus baby seat!... Chris
  5. Wife got some pics back from the photo shop, and I forgot she took them.. So anyway, someone said that we should put our heads in the pics, as there has only been one member to do so.. So here I am!
  6. Hi.. I actually have the same problem. But mine is usually when I am at a low speed, comming to a stop at lights or something. And the strange thing is, that they only do it so often. But the fact that they do it at all is whats annoying me? Any thoughts? Chris
  7. Did anyone try the chrome tape idea.. And sis they get pics of it? Chris
  8. Hey guys.. I'm looking to re-tint also.. So am interested in this thread... In Japan, thier really isnt any laws about anything here. So I can tint as dark as I want. But at the end of the day, I want to be able to see out of the thing, and still keep the eligance of my vehicle! I too have a silver ES. 1996... So am interested at what to go with.. At the moment, there is a very light bluey-green color in the all the windows, and along the top of the front.. It actually suites the silver car as I also have a black interior... So what I am suggesting is that maybe we can all throw our pics up and look at what we all have, and discuss it.. That way we can guage as best we can visually what we may be looking for? Chris
  9. Thanks StevieJ.. Thats why I wanted to some input.. Maybe my ideas arent that great!.. hehehe Chris
  10. Well, an opinion, or a valuable reason why may help me in making any kind of desicion either way? Not just a "dont do it"? Chris
  11. Hey I love it!... Is it Silver with black interior? Cant really make out the exact colr in the pic... If so, I dont get to see many Silver ones like mine.. As you might know. Mine is the Silver one in the Gallery... What plans do you have in the future for it.. I am putting 17" rims on mine, and I am going to custom build a body kit.. When cleaning it the other day, I noticed that under the 2 tone silver and grey, the bottom skirting around the car is black.. I am thinking of making it 3 tone.. Starting with the Silver body, then the grey skirting, and then a black body kit.. Not sure yet? Chris
  12. No, dont worry. I am feelin ya!... I finished hight school when I was 16.. Back in my day we started school at 4y.o in Australia.. (Changed now though) And so went to university early... Basically after that, I wanted to do lazy stuff, so just bumbed around for a few years.. And so in saying that, had nothing... After I decided to do something, I actually got thrown into the world of business.. I actually started in TV Commercial Production, but somehow ended up in Administration Management Consultancy.. So basically until November 2001, I was living the good life, and making a nasty amount of cash.. Then my wife and I married, and had our daughter, and so in that time we moved to Japan.. I was only 27 and already knew that I wouldnt be able to do that job fo much longer. (Health wise.. To make money you have to work long and hard for it) And so in Japan, I became a teacher of english... I will be 29 next Tuesday, and I am the happiest I have ever been... I dont make the money that Iused to. Infact I dont even make a third of that now.. But all the same happy!... So when I say that I appreciate everything that I work for, I seriously mean it.. I now cant buy the top of the range car anymore, but atleast I can still have a nice comfortable car... Some say didnt you save any money? Well, I bought a house back in Australia.. So thats where that went....And I actually still have a 97 Jeep Cherokee back in my adopted home of Atlanta.... If somebody wants to make silly comments when they see me cleaning my car. I dont mind.. It makes me feel good doing it.. And I really liked what you said about looking after your car. "If you look after it, it will look after you!" That is great thinking! So when someone says nice things to you, and you get a big smile.. Enjoy it!.. I know I do, and I aint even rich!!! Chris Chris
  13. Well I personally dont think there is anything wrong with you.. I think it is great for people to have an interest in something, and I guess when you work hard for something, you want to look after it as much as you can.. I am in that catergory... My wifes car is a total mess, and if you met my wife you would understand.. She gets angry at me for for spending so much time with my car, but she doesnt understand that I worked hard to buy that car, and I want it to last as long as I can make it.. Her on the other hand doesnt work, and so it is me that pays for everything, and so I guess she has no respect for things that she never had to work for? So I have taken my hand to her car, to show her what it can look like with a few minutes a week of attention. All in the hope she might see the light.. And....... She's still not interested.... I didnt move here to Japan for reasons of money, and so I gave up a lucrative position in doing so.. I dont like to make myself out to be something that I am not, but it gives me a great feeling when someone looks at my car and says, "Hey, nice car" or "boy it looks good, you must look after it?" Or even just looks I get when I drive past people... I guess at one point not so long ago, I could have invested in a more expencive car. But now I dont make alot of money, so I appreciate what I have.. I am considered unusual in Japan, as most people can only afford 1 small car.. I actually have 3, as I see a car that is going cheap, the voice in my head says buy it... But then again, I am lucky that I have understanding inlaws that allow me to use their property to house them.. And dad-inlaw gets to drive my Trooper, so is happy.. He even drives it with his Cap turned backwards!.. ha ha ha But I guess what I am saying, is no, its not unusual to want your car to look its best, and I think yes, its ok to turn around and look at it after you get out.. It just means that you have pride in yourself, and what you own! Chris
  14. If you go to the Australian Toyota site. www.toyota.com.au Have a look at the new Camry. Especially the sports version.. I am guessing it is the same car in America.. Tell me how much you think it is similar or not to the new ES?... If you dont think so, tell me what you think, and I guess, you know is different? Lastly, do you like the body of the Camry better, than the new ES... Forgetting that you are Lexus people. Give an honest answer to this... Very curious.... Chris
  15. Ok, I have never seen anything that had a black and tan interior here in Japan.. Mine is all black.. As far as I know, I didnt think that they actually two toned the interior until they redesigned the dash when they released the 97.. (96 in Japan is actually the 97 in US) Mine is an early 96, so thats why it looks like the older model. (New models are always released here mid year.. We get them a year earlier almost I guess... As for replacing your rear lights with newer 95-96 lights, I cant see why not? And as for losing your ES 300 badge. Just try taking it off the rear of your old tailight, and then buy the sticky stuff and replace it on your trunk?? Just a thought? I also saw the guys leg in the picture!!! Chris
  16. Yeah not sure as to what they looked like brand new, but mine are milky aswell.. As for the actually light assembly cover, the whole thing should be crystal clear! Only way to clean them is to open them.. I am lucky that mine have held up fine, and are perfect... The only problem is when I bought the car second hand, the previous owner scratched the light, and wanted to replace it before he gave me the car.. He replaced it alright, but my right light is a perfect clear lense cover. But the left has the 3 lines across the light cover like they did with some of the models... Cant notice unless you stand up close thank god..... Chris
  17. Yeah, I honestly looked everywhere, and couldnt find it.. SO I got grumpy.. So thats why I wrote.. But as soon as I finished, I found it as if someone was playing with my mind, and there was your responce! Anyways, again.. Sorry.. Chris
  18. Ok, I am a big boy, and I can stand up and say that I have made a mistake.. I am now suffering foot in mouth disease, as I have just found that post, and realised it hasnt been deleted!!!! Sorry for the grumpyness in my above post.. But as I think, I really do feel what I say.. These boards are for everyone.. The smart guys, the dumb guys, and anyone that wants to participate.... I stand corrected.... Chris
  19. I saw a post this morning where I thought that somebody had been rudely replied to when he made a poll, and asked a question. Regardless of that guys situation, I just felt that he should have been given a better reply than "go do a search".. Now, I say what I feel, and have no problems in doing so. But after comming home from work I wanted to look at that post to see what kind of reaction I may have recieved? The problem is, that I cant find that post anywhere.. And if so, why not? I dont believe that I offended anyone, and if I did, then maybe I may have hit a nerve, and you are not able to accept constructive critisism.. If that is the case, and the post has been deleted for that reason, then maybe you should look how you run these boards? I truelly do feel that just telling someone to just "Go do a search" is not really in the spirit of what these boards are meant to represent.. I am not someone that is going to go out of my way to upset anyone consiously, and the people that chat with me know that. But if I feel that something isnt right and that a person, or persons on these boards are willing to offer so much input, then they should be prepared to accept graciously when someone puts them at fault! I also feel that censorship is nessessary, and believe that certain things are not for these boards. But If censorship is used in order for someone that doesnt like something that is said to them, then maybe you should look at who is running these boards.. In saying that, I dont speak for all moderators! Enough said..... Chris
  20. Actually you know what? After I posted my responce I went back and read this string again, and to be honest. It got my blood boiling a little.. To reply to someone "Wasn't this pole done like 4 months ago, do a search" is in my thinking, kinda rude? Maybe if you replied to him that maybe yes it was done 4 or 3 months ago, and what result was gained, and explain why the thread had lost its steam... Just to tell someone to go do a search, kinda gives me the feeling that people should know better not to waste your time or something.... I feel that the guy had an honest want in knowing what everyone was interested in, and so as member's who have had people help us in the past, should ablige him accordingly? For some people, it may be their first post, and worried about a question. Or maybe it might be someone a little lazy in not wanting to search through pages of posts...But its not the first time I have seen people told to just "go do a search"?.... Thats probably not the answer they are looking for? seriously... Chris
  21. Dont think it really matters if it was done 4 months ago.. The guy is interested again, and wants to raise the issue once more? He probably wasn't a member 4 months ago? Doing a search only takes you to posts that obviously lost their steam. By starting a new thread it brings in the new members with fresh ideas!.... Mine is a 96, so I guess you know my vote? Chris
  22. Not that anyone is interested in my thoughts.. But I actually do like the new style.. But I just think that they sit way too high in the air.. They definately need to be lowered and a body kit put on them.. If you have seen the new Camry Sport, you will know what I mean.. I dont know why they do it with the stock models, they always sit way too high, and they look very bouncy for my liking? Chris
