  1. Sheesh - sounds like a lot for a starter motor!
  2. Hi - welcome to the Club - nice wheels!!
  3. I'm with Zeta - my GS notices big time if I put cheapo fuel into it
  4. Generally speaking the service costs of the GS series are quite low, except for the 63K service (100K on later models) where you have to change the cam belt and all the plugs. That one is very expensive.
  5. IMO the greenstuff pads are certainly good for reducing brake dust, but ONLY if you fit EBC turbo-grooved discs aswell. I've found that using them with stock Lexus rotors means more dust and a very short pad life indeed.
  6. I agree - just give them a real good push dowanwards and they will click into their "Summer" position.
  7. If you're getting a lot of smoke it could be a piston ring - that may also be causing a loss of compression and the hard starting / bad running Get your shop to do a compression test for you
  8. The plugs on the Mk2 are Iridium - I suspect they'll work on the Mark 1
  9. I've seen quite a few Technical Service Bulletins on Alldata relating to this - the most common cause seems to be the glovebox and the middle vent. You can easily pop out the vent and make sre tha nothing is loose.. I found that adding some small felt pads around the edges of the glovebox to make it close tighter helped.
  10. You might wnt to try resetting the electronics (there's computers and stuff in there! :D ) - disconnect the battery for a few minutes remember to take a note of your radio code if you have one!!
  11. I have Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position SO3 tires on my GS - great in the wet and quiet - good wear too
  12. You're very welcome to join Gold if you'd like to. We do have some US-based companies that are offering substantial discounts to gold members.
  13. Just a hinch - but could this be an earthing problem with one of the rear light clusters?? You might want to try changing a few bulbs too Just gut feel talking here
  14. In my experience, this is nearly always a wheel balancing problem. My advice would be to take the car to quality independent tire shop and get the front wheels checked.
  15. You might want to try resetting your ECU - the easiest way is to remove the battery connections for an hour or so.
  16. I've been discussing the CD adaptor with the UK distributor of Dension untis - he doens't think there will be one available for the GS with Nav - the market is not big enough. The FM modulator works brilliantly in my car - the only issue is that the sound obviously goes through the FM channel pre-amp, and in Europe lexus has decided to clip the treble a touch in that channel (who knows why?)
  17. I've just installed a Dension MP3 device into my GS300 - it came with an FM modulator which pushes the signal through the FM channel - it works perfectly. You may be able to get one of these to work with your unit?
  18. Why don't you read my replies to your threads!!!!! - I've told you a million times that the only way to get these out is to destroy them. WHY YOU NO RISSEN?????????? :?:
  19. Hi - welcome to the Club!!! If you to one of the big tire sites, such as www.tirerack.com you'll find a calculator to help you figure out how you can put on bigger rims with lower profile tires to maination the same overall diameter. I'd guess and say you'd easily get 16 inch rims on by taking down your profile to 65, probably even bigger if you want to. Good luck!
  20. Cool!! - are you gonna install an extra alternator or tow a small power station in a trailer?? - knowing you it's gonna be BIG and LOUD!!!!
  21. Mat - I used MB Quartz component woofer / tweeters in the front and Kicker duals in the back - very happy with the results.
  22. Have you tried a powerful vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment?
