I too test drove the LR3 last month. I must say I did not like it at all. I thought the GX was too boxy already until I seen the LR3. The LR3 drove nice, much like the GX, but was not as quiet or smooth. The interior was not up to standard for a $55000 SUV and the front cup holders look like they were add on, very tacky looking.
At that same time, I also test drove the range rover, it was a much nicer ride and has a much nicer interior. But the RR is in another ball park as far as pricing. In the end, Lexus' quality and relieability won me over. The Rovers are nice if you are leasing for a couple of years, or if you are trying to be unique, or if relieable transportation is not high on your priorty list.
