After dealing with the same thing, I use my iPhone instead. Lexus needs work on their navigation.

Seems maybe not an isolated issue. I can't possibly see how wheel bearings on 2006-7 Lexus vehicles are bad. Very difficult to find people who know how to identify and correct the cause of problems like this. Having driven many old cars that vibrated, it is not something you can stand. When you said you had it in the shop, was it a Lexus dealership shop or someone else?

Neither would I. Yes, I like the Chargers and Challengers but I'd get the new Z28 or C7. I stay away from Chrysler products as they have too much stuff that breaks at an early age. One of my LEAST favorite commercials is for the adult diapers where women wear them and they bump butts or do karate kicks. Yeah all fine and dandy but not stuff I want to see.

Rapid acceleration cures many issues. Blows the carbon out and is quite a bit of fun.

I would sure be right back there. Not sure what the codes mean but never good having them on. I will tell you that IF you clear the codes, not all of them come back on right away. Sometimes you have to go maybe 300 miles for the computer to run an analysis of the system and determine if the light need to go back on. That is the reason I would go back. If they just clear the codes, you will be at a disadvantage. Prior to taking it, I would read up on all the codes and causes. Very likely someone here will know so hang on. Welcome to LOC. I always think it's the tires. I know, they are new and all but when you have a rotational vibration and thumping that changes with speed, it usually comes back to tires. Might not be a tire, could be a wheel that was somehow damaged. If not, it comes down to suspension they after that transmission and driveline. I do know that a drive shaft slightly out of alignment will make your teeth shake. I'll assume an alignment was done with the new tires. If not done properly (which many don't), you will shake. I agree that it is unacceptable so best luck with solving the problem. Denny Welcome to LOC.

I'm not sure if they load gasoline up with 10% alcohol in Ontario or not. I do know that in New York many stations now sell 91 without any alcohol. Two of my different vehicles gained 2mpg running the NA gasoline.

Seems the VSC is a regular problem with Lexus vehicles. My neighbors have a 2001 RX300 which has had those light on for over 10 years. Pretty good bulbs in there I guess.

no kidding. If the audio systems we had then were anything 1/4 as nice as factory systems now, we would have been the coolest kids on town.I've messed around with quite a few wires, not always with good results. Now you need Edd China.

I have my windows tinted which really save the interior. I also use a window shade for the windshields whenever the car is outside. Both really help.

With my wife's car (Toyota) I couldn't pair my new phone until I deleted the old phone. Same number conflict of something. I think if you delete and add you'll be good.

wow, didn't expect that others thought that way. lenore's point is very close to mine. You never know who you are meeting or see so I never assume. Sometimes my wife bothers me when I go out because I look kind of lower regular and then drive the old truck to a store. For whatever reason it's pretty fascinating for me to put on my headphones with tunes, go into stores and walk around and be invisible. Dress up, load on jewelry and walk around in stores and you look like bait. Well, not just look, you are bait. If you see me in a store, you won't see me in a store. Some of the poorest people I have known, lived in the nicest homes, had the nicest cars, and lived the nice lifestyle. Most of the richest people I know lived low key, low profile lifestyles, lived in moderate homes and drove moderate cars. Now the poorest people have been repo'd, foreclosed, divorced, etc while the richest are buying stuff, traveling and having fun. Luckily for me many years ago I read a book of which the name I am unable to remember but the point was this, your wealth is determined by how much you earn, but by how much you keep. Obviously some kind of dead short probably from messing with wiring. I once hooked up a tape player and it made smoke come out of my dashboard because some of the black tape I connected the wires with came loose. Oh yeah, it also ate 8 track tapes regularly.

I know many people buy tires for long mileage treadwear which is fine however I really don't feel comfortable on old tires with 50,000 or more miles. The rubber gets hard and the ride gets harsh slowly over a period of time. For a better ride and safety I don't like tires after they reach 30,000 miles. Something many don't consider is winter tires. New snow tires are not like those of the past as now they are very high tech and ride excellent. Amazingly, the last set of Dunlop Graspics lasted 8 seasons and still had more than half the tread when I replaced them as they were seriously date worn being 10 years old. Put on fresh Yokohama Ice Grips which are fabulous. My daughter drives this car in Baltimore and I have always felt snow tires were cheaper than accidents so...

Probably the pads are pressed against the rotors and preventing removal of the caliper. Place a large flat screwdriver between the rotor and pad and force the piston back into the cylinder. I usually have to put a piece of metal pipe over the end of my rachet to get enough leverage to break the bolts loose. Sometimes you have to manhandle brake parts.

Not sure if that is good or bad. Despite careful destination programing and with all avoidances off, the navigation in my IS will repeatedly tell me to get off an Interstate and take some side road. For whatever reason it doesn't recognize many major roads and has a nasty habit is misdirecting me. Best command is CANCEL NAVIGATION. Not sure how Lexus managed this feat, but they did. Possibly the last car I buy with navigation since the phone navigation is so far superior anyway.

I don't think your user name can be changed. I see why of course but as 1990LS400 knows, you are kind of stuck with what you have. It would take somebody far more important than me to know for sure though. Ask Paul.

Not sure how that would work. Myself? I'd buy a couple front wheel dollies and eliminate the problem. I guess if I was an RV owner,a car with a manual transmission would be good.

Bob, Could be me but I really think that if you flush your cooling system every 5 years or 50,000 miles, then you are much more unlikely to experience problems long term. As I'm sure you are aware, heater cores are a nasty bear of a job. I have personally had several heater core failures over the years, although all with GM cars. I have never heard of a heater core failure on a Toyota/Lexus car, nor Honda or Nissan either? Usually the first indication of an impending failure is the windshield begins to fog up, especially in colder weather and at night. Add to that the sickly, sweet smell of the coolant and the feeling from knowing what's next. What is next is that it start leaking onto the floorboard of the passenger side. At this point people in warmer climates often bypass the heater core and run without heat. In Virginia, your vehicle will not pass the state safety inspection as the defrosters are all but useless without heat. Denny

Hit that nail on the head Paul. Very nice to not have to worry about such things and I don't. My motto is floor it and burn up this gas while it's still cheap, available and legal.

I'll have to look in mine and see if there is a CD player even. Pretty much bluetooth for me in this car. I can prop my 6+ in front of the nav screen which I have for Goggle Maps. navigation in my is horrible. Tells me to get off at strange roads on places I drive all the time and doesn't know roads 10 years old (on a 2014 car?) such as SR1 in Delaware. As a result, i hardly ever use the Lexus navigation as it's repetitive incorrect routing is worse than being lost. I also carry an antique GPS paper device. Even my 12 year old Garmin works better. Played with all the settings to no avail but Google maps beats all so whatever.
