  1. do you mean you are going to tap a high/low converter from your stock sub wires? if this is the case, i don't think it will work due to the fact that the coverter picks up its signals from current flowing to speakers producing sound. but i guess it doesn't hurt to try. also be sure you find one of the previous posts that go into detail about taking out the stock sub. it is not as easy as it sounds.
  2. i think it started a couple of months ago
  3. man... i got the same problem. i don't know what it is. i need help too
  4. hi all, i need a great deal of help. recently i have been having a problem when i turn the car off. the motore kind of shakes and sputters a little before shutting off. it doesn't do it at any other time. what could the problem be. it's a 2000 GS300 and i just hit 60,000 miles a couple of weeks ago.
  5. warranties are the greatest. the same thing happened to me last year. the dealership even gave me a rental for two days. hope everything works out.
  6. i also havd mine dropped with teins s techs and have 20s. there is only minimal rubbing when i am driving and there may be a little dip or bumb in the road, but that is it. to answer your question about how low you can go, it's really up to whether you willing to live with go through tires as quick as you do your oil change. i've seen a gs in my neighborhood damn near on the ground and he goes through tires quick. you can change our camber adjustments with aftermarkets ones but that will cost more money. the lowest you can drop your car and still be within spec with your factory camber adjustments is about two inches.
  7. best place hands down is in oakland. i forget the name, but it's right across from the cadillac dealership on broadway. i'll try and find the number and reply later.
  8. the tires will fit on the wheel, but they will not clear under the fenders
  9. in order to remove the subwoofer from the rear deck lid you have to remove the entire back seat. that has been a lot of posts covering this. just do a search for "seat removal" and a bunch of stuff should come up. i just did mine about a month ago.
  10. what you would need to know is the offset of the wheels and also what size tires are on the rims. if the offset is not correct or the tires are too big then the tires might rub, or the wheels just might not fit at all. the other thing is the bolt pattern. your car has a 5 x 114.3 bolt pattern and the wheels have to match that. if you want a little more informations check out this link. http://www.lexusgonewild.com/articles/WheelFitment.shtml hope i've helped
  11. i got a set of mats out of a 2006 GS. i think they vary slightly, but should fit just fine. a friend of mine has the same mats and they look good.
  12. after a lot of searching and reading through the forum i am going to go with the borla exhaust, but still have three questions. is the borla exhaust a full cat-back? can anybody who has the borla setup post pictures if they have any? where can i get it the cheapest? thanx
  13. hi all, i have a 2000 gs300. i want to install an alpine stereo. i already have a dash kit for it and it fits like a charm. i also have the harness but i don't think it's the right one. it plugs in and everthing but the deck doesn't turn on when i put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position. i looked at the harness and even though it plugs perfectly, it seems that the wires are in the wrong spots to match with the factory harness. so my questin is this: does anybody have a deck installed in their car and working flawlessly that can help me out by either showing me how i can just tap into my factory harness or by locating a harness that will work? thanks
  14. you should be able to get it at your local auto parts store. i work at Kragen over here in northern california and that's where i got mine. i think i paid like $25 for it.
  15. i'm looking to buy the factory 17" gs five star wheels/tires with good tread left. they are the ones that also came on the is300. i am located in the bay area so please let me know if you have a set for sale. i'm looking to spend between 450-500. thanx
  16. you mean the big bolt that attach the caliper to the caliper braket?
  17. my rear brakes have been squealing a bit so i figured changing them was a good idea. i need to take the rear rotors off so i can get them resurfaced, but they wont seem to come off. is there some trick to getting them off. i tried everything, to no avail. somebody please help me.
  18. i'm not going to be doing any type of driving that requires speed and handling. i'll just be using my car as a daily driver from home to work or school.
  19. thank you for the help. i've been doing a lot of thinking over the past day and have decided im probably gonna get something with a 1.5 inch drop. i know the offset is critical when lowering the car with 20s so i will definately take time to get that correct. if it isn't asking too much can anybody that has pics of their gs dropped with 20s please post a pic. and could you also please indicate how much of a drop it is. thanx
  20. hi all. i just purchased a gs about a month ago and i am have been trying to figure out what springs i should buy for it. the setup with the wheels i want to go with is 20x 8.5 or 9 with 245/35r20 up front and 20x 9.5 or 10 with 275/30r20 in the rear. i want to know which springs will drop the car so that the fenders meet right at the tires or slightly cover the tires. i was thinking of going with the eibach pro kit, which drop the car and inch, but i don't think i will get the drop that i wan't. the h&r and tein springs drop will drop the around 1.5 inches. will that be enough of a drop or should i just spend a lot of money, which i really don't want to do, and get a coilover setup. any and all comments and opinions are welcomed.
