  1. Thanks! You enjoy yours too. Post a pic!
  2. This is the only Lexus I have ever owned or even driven for that matter, so I don't have anything to compare it to. I will say that I don't think the quality of the interior is any better or worse than the '08 G37 coupe I owned. I do like the padded vinyl on the door panels and even the side of the console. I don't have any rattles in my car. It seams very solid. I have a small bit of air noise in the crack of the roof right by my ear, and sometimes on a really rough road (plenty of those in Memphis) I get a little ticking sound between the roof and the window on the passenger side. Other than that, I have never seen a convertible with less roof noise. When the top is up, you would never know that it is a convertible, quite unlike my S2000. And David, you can turn off that orange light. I keep it on my tach, but turned it off on my speedometer. For some reason, it would come on on the speedometer around 88 mph. Maybe it was going back to the future! ;)
  3. Sometimes I will see a car with the little black air dam loose and flapping the breeze and I think...really?!?! don't you know or care what that is doing to your mpg? People! I must say that I pretty much keep my foot in it and I keep my tranny shift on power. I like the jerky feeling it gives me and the way it holds the gear longer. I know it probably cost me a little fuel in the long run, but I bought a sports car to have a fun car to drive. I get 24 mpg and it is mostly city stop and go driving. I think that is fine. I use the 89 octane fuel. It says to use 91, but around here we have 89 and 93. I figure that 89 can't be any worse than 93 can be better. Car runs fine on it.
  4. I saw the same thing with my kids (now 24 and 29). I cried on my 16th birthday because it was raining and I couldn't go take my drivers test. My mom came and got me out of school the next day so I could get my license. She had a red '70 Charger with a black vinyl top. (no...it didn't have a hemi). My son was worse than my daughter. He didn't care about getting his license till he turned about 18. Allison got hers when she was 16, but it wasn't any rush. Of course, I had a black WS-6 Trans Am to cart them around in, so I guess they didn't mind riding with Mom.
  5. I'll be off for a while. Everybody have a nice holiday. Enjoy your Lexus! Mine will be in the garage. :( We always travel in the hubby's truck. God Bless America and all that keep her safe.
  6. Sure! I went from 19.7 to 19.9. Never could get over the 20 mpg mark.
  7. It is really funny. I put my top down every afternoon once I feel like I'm out of "thugville". Yesterday my car said the temp was 97 degrees. With the a/c vents blowing right in my face and my a/c seat on 3....I'm very comfortable. When I had my S2000, it was unbearable once it got over 90 degrees. It had black leather seats too. My a/c blows really hard. I don't get hot at all. Have I mentioned lately that I love this car?
  8. Are you using a synthetic oil? My mileage went up a little bit on my 370Z when I switched to it. Other than that, I don't know much else to suggest.
  9. Oh yeah. The heat and humidity have kicked in for sure. Thank goodness for a/c seats!
  10. I was really impressed with the little class they had for us Saturday. Nice breakfast...had the service manager and consultant in to meet us...actually had a car like mine with a tri-pod and a camera in the backseat so when he was showing you how to use the Nav and stuff, you could really watch him do it. First class all the way.
  11. Aaaaaaaaaaah, burning tires and smoking brakes. It doesn't get any better than that. I miss my supercharged Z28 that I recently sold. It would burn the tires all the way through 2nd gear. Pure red-neck Heaven. :cries:
  12. I was at the dealership Saturday for the little class that they hold for new Lexus owners. When I was pulling out to leave, they had a new white IS sedan out front. OMG, it is really sharp looking. Of course, people were just all around it so I just drove off. I can't wait to see the convertible. In 3 years....I will have one!
  13. Crazy. This morning I was driving into work. My iPod plays constantly through my radio. I never touch it. All of a sudden a song was playing that I knew I had Shazam'ed to my phone, but not uploaded to my iPod yet. For some strange reason, my stereo had just switched from my iPod to my iPhone. STRANGE! This is a great time to be a music lover. I remember helping my mom do dishes all week to get enough allowance to buy a couple of 45's.
  14. Thank you David. I couldn't agree more. Is it going to take one of the furthest spots away from all the other cars at Wal-Mart and make sure it isn't downhill so no wayward buggy might head it's way? I don't think so. I like picking my own spot. My car does not play well with others. Also...I'm old school. I don't like the fact that auto manufacturers are trying to take away the whole driving experience. I like to drive my car. I want to park it too. Dear Lord, please don't ever let me get that lazy.
  15. Thx! Special thanks to Steve Jobs for putting a camera in everybodies pocket. I would have hated to miss that opportunity.
  16. We are blessed for sure. Anytime there is a rainbow coming out of our clouds and not tornados....we are happy.
  17. I can't remember the last time I bought tires. For some reason, when I buy tires...they have a car sitting on top of them. ;)
  18. Remember, I have a convertible. The back deck is nothing but a piece of plastic. Have you ever watched the top go up and down on one of these cars? It really is an engineering masterpiece! I put it down at a traffic light once and the guy next to me told me that I had a Transformer.
