I thought they were just going to put the blades on for no charge. When I looked at my statement as left, I called the heifer and told her that next time she is going to charge me a ridiculous labor fee, to let me know prior to payment. I told her that I could have easily done it myself and saved myself the $10. Needless to say, they will no longer have my business, so I hope that ten bucks was worth it to them.

No, it didn't include the water pump. Guess I got a deal? The last time I had my oil changed, I let them put on new wiper blades and they charged me 10 bucks for labor! <_<

wow, your paint was real clean.... ( i know this is detailing forum stuff...) but what did you use to achieve YOUR shine?

I paid about 350 for a timing belt/driving belt change, transmission fluid change, and I believe new coolant fluid. I had it service at a Toyota dealership. I don't have the receipt handy, but I do not think I spent more than 4 bills.

I love Texas. One day the temperature is 36 degrees and then just two days later it will be 70.

wow! that is a lot of snow for Texas. And to think I was excited about super tiny snowflakes falling yesterday right as I made it back home to San Antonio. :D :D Merry Christmas to everyone!

i wonder why everyone always complains about the cupholders. Mine seem to function efficiently. :) -

How Long Do You Plan On Keeping Your Es?
suchabluechill replied to SW03ES's topic in 92 - 06 Lexus ES250/300/330
I'm keeping mine forever...it's not my first CAR, but it is my first luxury car, and symbolizes the first of many more to come. :D -
Well, it could be about a thousand things. Needs a tuneup Plugged fuel injectors Badly underinflated tires Low transmission fluid Transmission not shifting into top gear Bad O2 sensor Bad PCV valve And a zillion more. Are there any other symptoms that might help to narrow it down? ← well I had a fuel injection cleaning done about two weeks ago and they said that I did not need a tuneup (my original reason for taking it to the shop, independent, not Lexus). I rarely check my tire pressure. I have not checked my transmission fluid since I had it changed in October. Ummmm....I cannot really think of any symptoms that have seemed unusual or problematic. Other than my bad cv joints and a possible seep in my rear main seal.

I started with a full tank and set my trip meter.....by the time my fuel light came on, :whistles: I was only at 260 miles and I used 89 octane from a Shell station. I normally do not let my tank drop below half, but my sole income is tips and well.... Anyone have any idea why my mpg is so low?

Coming Out Of The Woodwork!
suchabluechill replied to VBdenny's topic in Lexus Detailing and Car Care Forum
I finally broke down and put some elbow action into my car. I spent about 2 and a half hours yesterday washing, polishing, and waxing and WOW, does she look beautiful. I never knew my paint had so much potential! Thanks for everyone's input and advice. I never knew washing my own car could make me so happy. -
Replaced Cv Joint, Still Clicking Noise.
suchabluechill replied to chris17house's topic in 92 - 06 Lexus ES250/300/330
Actually, I am currently in Brenham going to school...but that drive wouldn't just be a "swing-by". I do not believe the clicking has anything to do with the engine. I truly hate taking my car to a mechanic b/c I'm paranoid that they are going to tinker with something and cause me more problems. Also, being that I am a young female, I feel that they are likely to take advantage of my inexperience with cars. They see a young woman driving a Lex and think that daddy will pay for it all. Well daddy doesn't pay for -
Replaced Cv Joint, Still Clicking Noise.
suchabluechill replied to chris17house's topic in 92 - 06 Lexus ES250/300/330
I know next to nothing about the mechanics of my car....and I also have a ticking noise when I turn corners at slow speeds. So what you are trying to say is that my inner CV joints need to be replaced? -
I tried the link and it says the page cannot be found. :)

I am not certain if the discoloration is on the inside or the outside. Also, I do not have an orbital buffer or a dremmel tool. Any further recommendations?

Coming Out Of The Woodwork!
suchabluechill replied to VBdenny's topic in Lexus Detailing and Car Care Forum
I really wish I had more time to put such great effort into maintaining my car. As a full-time college student with two jobs and a great manicure, I cannot be completely thorough when I do get the opportunity to care for my car. :( -
I've noticed my headlamp covers are yellowish and I do live in a southern state. Should I even attempt to clean them or just buy new ones?

Fuel Filter Replacement - Has Anyone Done It ?
suchabluechill replied to lexus400's topic in 92 - 06 Lexus ES250/300/330
I'm at about 107K and took my baby in for a tune-up recently, only to be told that it was not needed at the time. (even though it was recommended by a Toyota dealership where I had my belts changed and transmission and coolant systems serviced). A few days later, I felt like there was some hesitation when I was accelerating past 3rpm, and I took it back. At that point I decided to have my fuel filter replaced along with a fuel injection cleaning which cost me a total of $167. ($68-parts, $95-labor)
