  1. HAHA. Almost a given Dave. :) ← Lol, yeah I told her I signed her up to come and she said "you're buying me a new Lexus for the meet, how nice", lol. We've had two others sign up already 3.) Wiz2 (TRD s/c'd Camry) 4.) Alexus_300 (IS300)
  2. I'll updated the top post of this thread with updated meet information and attendees from time to time. -------------------------------------- Now that the summer's big meets are over and before we get fully into the year-end holiday season, let's do one a little closer to home for those in the CLT area.... Where: Quaker Steak and Lube near Lowes Motor Speedway and Concord Mills (link and more directions below) When: 2pm on Saturday November 19 What: We'll get there 1/2 hour before they open and secure part of the parking lot. They've got a nice patio that we can hang out in and have some lunch and beverages or we'll take it inside if it's too cold. Possibly do a Lexus cruise in the area after lunch and maybe snap some pics at LMS. I've put in an 'event request' with QS&L and will update this post when we're approved for the meet. My backup suggestion is Mellow Mushroom off Prosperity Church Rd (University). So far we've got coming: 1.) DaveGS4 (s/c'd GS400) 2.) Krista P (LS400) Please let me know if you think you can come so we get enough spots in case you run late arriving. Directions: QS&L is right off of I-85 exit 49 at the Concord Mills exit http://www.quakersteak.com/default.asp?fldLocation=charlotte 7731 Gateway Lane NW Concord, NC 28027 704-979-LUBE (5823) ============================= I'm posting on ClubLexus.com, my.is, and SELOC.NET for this Charlotte Lexus Enthusiasts meet as well. Some QS&L and LMS pics I snapped during our last meet there about a year ago. This meet is going to be a little less formal / structured than the last one. I'm not planning on organizing any raffle items (unless we get a few from our good friends at Hendrick Lexus). Probably will do group car shots only so it doesn't take so much time if we go over to LMS.
  3. Glad you made it out and enjoyed it! I didn't get a chance to check out your car, but I do remember them pulling your wife (although didn't know it at the time) out of the crowd for the drift demo... that's awesome! What did she think about it! I'm also going to put an official ' thank you' thread up on all the forums, if you went to Lexfest and had a good time, please reply as I'll be sharing the info with Lexus Corporate, Team Lexus, Quicksilver, PFS and our meet sponsors to let them know we appreciated their time and generousity.
  4. Guys please vote in this poll so we can plan out the number of folks on Sunday! http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=175444 If you don't have a CL login, just post your response here or PM me and I'll update the poll count for you. Thanks!
  5. There's a list on CL for folks coming down Saturday morning. I believe some will go back Sat PM, some will stay for the Sunday events :) http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=174306
  6. Sorry for the slow reply sha, only now saw this post! You'll miss some of the coolest stuff, but Sunday is shaping up to be pretty unique as well. We have it detailed on the timed schedule' page and I've pasted it in below. We'd love to have as many folks as possible in the Lexus caravan up to Quicksilver for the rolling portion of the meet video! Chuck Goldsboro, Team Lexus' lead driver will be personally leading the drive up to Quicksilver. The dynos will be FREE! We need to get more GS owners to the meet, the IS guys are nearly double our numbers... so far we have 128 participants signed up, of them: 6 GS430s 15 GS400s 15 GS300s and... 53 IS300's (many turbo) Click here to register! http://www.lexfest.net/add_attendee.aspx
  7. Some exciting updates for Lexfest 2005! Lunch Price Drop We've been told that Lexus Corporate is picking up all or part of the food and drink cost for the event :). I haven't heard the details from them in person (heard from Team Lexus spokesperson), but they're adding a lot of additional support for the Lexfest event now that we have such a big turnout registered! We'll be posting a menu soon. Thanks Lexus and thanks everyone for turning out to make this first annual event a massive Lexus enthusiast meet! Prizes The Planning Team has started to update the prizes tab on the Lexfest website with some of raffle info for our meet. Thank you to all the supporting organizations!! In addition to what's listed: 1) Lexus Corp. is also bringing a nice selection of giveaways, including 1/18 model scale cars, only for Lexus owners at the event. 2) One of the Team Lexus sponsors does clear bra type stuff, and they are going to set up a demo station at the event. They're going to offer a free full kit for one of the Lexus at the event, as selected by Team Lexus (current thinking this goes to the best overall car). A $1500 value and the kit gets put on right there! I'm getting more details on this one (name of the company, what do they do for custom front ends, etc) 3) Team Lexus has a number of Team Lexus racecar bumpers and doors that are 'race damaged' that they'll autograph and give away as raffle items 4) Team Lexus sponsors and Lexus dealers are chipping in some additional raffle items Deliveries, Demos, Drifting, Driving & Dynos 1) We hear that the official IS350 racecar is on its way to the states, but it will still be very very close if it does arrive in time for the meet. Lexus is trying to line up a couple of cars for us though ;) as are regional dealerships 2) The new Quicksilver-built 605 hp turbo motor for the Team Lexus drift car will be done this week and that turbo IS drift car will be on display. 3) Team Lexus is setting up the parking lot planning so we can have a small 'drift patch' in one of the back lots and the Team Lexus drivers can do some drift demonstrations. Meet participants may be allowed to try drifting in their own car but totally at their own risk / liable for any damage to their cars or other objects. 4) For the Sunday event, Team Lexus' lead driver Chuck Goldsboro himself will lead the drive up to Quicksilver, the Team Lexus engine builder. We'll post up directions for those that want to meet us at the shop and don't want to take the back road drive up there :) We plan to video the drive 5) Once we're there at the Quicksilver race engine shop, we will tour the facility and dyno some cars. Due to time constraints we think we'll have time for only six dynos... these dynos will be FREE and the selection criteria will be announced at the meet. Most likely the dynos will be awarded to the vehicles with the most potential HP of the members going to the Sunday event (two IS with most potential HP, two GS with most potential HP, two other models) Upcoming deadlines for the meet Our reserved hotel block expires on Wednesday so if you don't have a room, get it quick. The Lexfest.net lodging tab has all the details you need (click here ). Please register if you are planning on coming so we make sure to have the right amount of space set aside for Lexus parking at the meet, food, etc. Click on the button below to register now if you haven't already done so!
  8. Important Request for Lexfest attendees with "A/V Showcars" that need a power drop. If your Lexus has a massive AV setup you want to show off at Lexfest 2005 and requires an AC power drop, please PM me or send an email to info @ lexfest. net . Decribe your setup, pics preferred; we'll have very limited space in the showcar area with power and may not have room for everyone there. Thanks!
  9. I update the thread in the meets forum with the latest info http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...=0entry145584 or keep checking the lexfest website (click on the tabs at the top for details).... we've recently updated the lodging tab and the sponsor and prizes tab and of course the signed up participants list keeps growing!! We've got 9 LS's signed up so far amid a sea of IS and GS models. More very exciting annoucements coming tonight about the meet. Click here to register http://www.lexfest.net/add_attendee.aspx Get your hotel rooms before our block is gone!!!
  10. Whose going to be the 125th Lexus to sign up to attend? http://www.lexfest.net/ Register here http://www.lexfest.net/add_attendee.aspx
  11. I woke up this AM and realized we also need to leak some details (still being solidified) about our planned Sunday event for people to make the decision to stay Saturday night or not. On Sunday morning August 21, we're looking at doing a morning 45 minute 'Lexus cruise' on the back roads up to the Team Lexus race engine builder's shop (a vendor) where we'd take a tour of the facility and get a demo of how they build up both turbo and race engines, We'd have free dynos for subset of the cars - right now we're anticipating up to 10 dynos due to time constraints. We're not sure yet how we're going to pick the 10 cars to dyno (lottery / raffle, top HP FI cars on the drive, sign up, etc). We'd take the scenic back road route to the shop & stop for a quick breakfast along the way probably leaving about 9am. ITs about a 45 minute drive from Team Lexus facility. If we can set it up, I'd like to get someone with a pickup truck to do some video of the drive (videographer in back of truck) and have some drive-by taping set up. Relaxing morning back roads drive, shoot some video, take a tour, strap on some dynos, then head home :) ================================ 109 cars signed up so far! Please register at www.lexfest.net if you haven't already so we can make sure to plan for parking, drinks, food, etc.
  12. We'll have the Lexfest website updated soon with this info, but several folks have asked about it so I'm going to go ahead and post it up on the forums. L O D G I N G Our group has arranging special pricing at a hotel nearby the meet facility. Considerations we made when selecting the lodging include: - safety of area - safety of parking lot for our vehicles - How close to Team Lexus facility - cost per night / discount available - room options (suites, etc) - large meeting room availble - proximty to interstate - proximity to food and drink places - proximity to gas station / car wash - proximity to other area attractions The place we reserved is: - is in a decent area - has a well lit, monitored and videotaped parking lot - has free wireless internet - has free breakfast - is only 15-20 minutes from our meet location on Saturday - has a large meeting room we can use Friday night and Saturday as people arrive - reasonably priced Note that we plan to call the local police department and ask for increased patrols of the hotel lot during the meet weekend. Our meet hotel for Lexfest 2005 is the: Holiday Inn Express BALTIMORE-BWI AIRPORT WEST 7481 RIDGE ROAD HANOVER, MD 21076 UNITED STATES Tel: 1-410-684-3388 Fax: 1-410-684-3919 Our group rate is $89.00 per night. We've started with a block of 25 rooms, and will expand to more rooms as needed on or before August 5. Our initial block / rate will expire on August 10 so please make your reservations before then! Of course you're welcome to stay somewhere else if you prefer. How to book a room with our discount: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Call the hotel directly at 1-410-684-3388 and tell them you need to make a reservation at their hotel for a group (don't let them transfer you to the 'general' reservations outside the hotel). Tell them the dates you want to stay (August 19 and 20th, or just one of the nights). Tell the agent you are with the Lexus group and the special group code is 'LEX' and they'll hook you up. You will need to guarantee your room with a credit card, but can cancel up until the day of the event with no penalty. Early bird discount heads up that there are a couple of direct booking internet rooms available at a lower $80.95 rate if you book directly and early with the hotel (use the link below). Do not reference our rate code, just nab them at that lower rate (you have to book via the internet). Once these couple of rooms are gone, they're gone. These rooms are outside our block. http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ex/1/en/hd/balhv There are also pictures of the hotel exterior, workout facility and more details. 13. Pretty significant change... the stock LS has a very special ride quality and that's gone now. It's perfectly acceptible and driveable but as my GF says "it rides like a 'normal car' now"... Please sign up on the lexfest site so we can get an accuracte count! Hope you can be there!!
  14. Lol, Neo knows. my GS http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=22333 my girlfriend's P-car http://www.somniplex.com/gallery/Porsche996C2
  15. I'm out of town this week, but my GF is home and my detail guy came by for a quick scheduled wash of the cars. Looks a little better with a shine :) Not bad for a car that 'lives' outdoors 12 months a year. Oh, and we now have THREE LS400 owners coming to Lexfest in about a month. Where are the rest of you east coast guys ;)
  16. Thanks raz, since your engine is a bit different than mine (different engine bay design, also its not a VVT-I motor) I'm not aware of any. I do know that David over at Lextreme has done a couple of custom LS400 turbo setups, and I'd recommend you check out the forums at www.lextreme.com for more info... a very good resource for Lexus / Toyota FI (turbo, supercharger) v8 info. Neo, I'm sure there is a direct flight to BWI B)
  17. Patsfan, You should consider driving down to Baltimore for the Lexfest meet and check it out yourself (and a couple hundred other Lexus)! Your drive down from Boston is almost exactly the same as mine up from Charlotte :) I've had the Bilstein PSS coilovers on for about two years now, for detailed impressions (short and long term) writeup click here. I paid about $850 at shox.com for them at the time. I'd pass on the same unit I have and go for the current Eclipse 5xxx models... the one I have has a low voltage out that causes a little noise from time to time. It's truly a JDM piece with the volume on the right hand side - the new ones are on the left. The Nav and other features of it are awesome, screen is great. I definitely like the stock look flush, but the tilt out is cool too :) I did a quick video of it a while back if you want to see what it looks like from the Eclipse HU(right click save as here) . Tilt All the way open Movie MP3 (note, the changer does not do Mp3s, only the single disk in dash) Nav Rear view camera (yes it can stay on when I drive)
  18. I didn't do a whole lot of research on the size - I simply went with the OEM tire size Lexus used on the wheel.... figured they had already looked into which would work best on the wheel. I did a lot of comparison shopping on tire rack before selecting the Pirelli. I would have prefered the PS/2 but it was $50 more per tire with almost exactly the same rating. There was some brand X tire that also had similar ratings for $50 less than the Pirelli, but I've got to believe that the R&D from a big tire company counts for something.
  19. Thanks for all the kind comments :)! Oh you definitely need to come f you're in MD! Trust me there are LOTS of other stock Lexus coming to this meet just to be able to check out the hooked up ones. So far I think I've got the only LS signed up, would love to have another to park with!!! Get a pic of your car and sign up www.lexfest.net !!! Oh you're gonna hate me for this. Carson Toyota had a l-sportline blowout group buy on another forum and I got the entire kit for $199. The exhaust I think was $169 and the suspension was $199. Got the wheels from a place in LA that chromes the OEM ones and sells them on ebay, decent warranty. They were a little over 1K - these things (18" OEM) are hard to find. Tires are Pirelli P-Zero Nero M&S 245/45-18 , from Tire Rack Exhaust makes absolutely zero difference in performance... in fact it's nearly as quiet as stock. So its just for looks. Suspension helps handling, but not as much as the new wheels and tires. The L-sportline suspension for the LS has some annoying clunks I haven't worked out of the rear. Handling is definitely better, but at a cost of some of the 'Lexus ride'.
  20. Thanks for all the kind comments :). I'd guess in total I've got 40K+ in my GS... that includes several iterations of several items as I've owned the car since 1999 (CPO 1 year old 1998 model). I bought the car with 16" OEM wheels, no spoiler and a tan pinstripe. Started with stock stuff removing the pinstripe, 17" OEM wheels, added a spoiler. Then did L-tuned kit, TTE lip, but then did a totally different kit etc etc.... 18" wheels now 19" wheels, Supra TT brakes then the Brembo 355MM setup. You can see a lot of the iterations of the car here in my personal gallery http://www.somniplex.com/gallery/GS and my "car of the month" writeup on ClubLexus last year has a nice writeup more detailed than the above. http://www.clublexus.com/index.php/article...iew/2292/1/133/ I haven't taken it to the track since I did my supercharger. Purely based on HP/TQ I'd guess my 0-60 is in the high 4 secs area.
  21. Sure you can come to the meet in anything, but only Lexus will be allowed to park in the car show area. We'll have parking for other vehicles outside the meet area. Most of the time the meets I help set up are open to any makes, we want just this one to be all about Lexus though :)
  22. And here's the link to the LOC meet thread about the Lexfest meet in Baltimore next month... I know there are a BUNCH of local LOC members who could sign up for this thing... it is FREE OF CHARGE and being planned by Lexus enthusiasts for Lexus enthusiasts. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...=0entry141550 with a short version below :) Registration is open for the First Annual East Coast Lexus Meet! We're anticipating this will be the biggest Lexus-only event on the east coast (and possibly biggest in the US) and are anticipating 200 - 300 Lexus in attendance. 23. Hi all, just thought I'd share some pics of my LS400 with everybody, recently made a few mods to it. I've kept it stock for a couple of years (modifying my GS instead) but got a good deal on some goodies I couldn't pass up. Mods: L-Sportline kit front/sides/rear L-Sportline exhaust L-Sportline suspension (Eibach / Bilstein) Monotoned (repainted areas that were two tone) 18" LS430 sport wheels in chrome (couldn't locate non-chrome) w/ Pirelli Pzero Nero M&S Hardwidered Valentine One 35% Tint I'd also like to invite anyone on the east coast (and reasonably inland) to come see it, along with a couple hundred other hooked up Lexus cars at Lexfest in Baltimore, MD on August 19, 20 (day of the main meet, hosted at the Team Lexus race facility) and 21st. Here are the pics, feel free to ask questions...
