Hi all, just thought I'd share some recent pics of my supercharged GS400 with everybody and invite anyone on the east coast (and inland) to come see it, along with a couple hundred other hooked up Lexus cars at Lexfest in Baltimore, MD on August 19, 20 (day of the main meet, hosted at the Team Lexus race facility) and 21st. Here are the pics, feel free to ask questions... I've done just about everything I want to my GS except the interior and that's under the knife soon. Most of these pics are from the Dub carshow in Charlotte NC at the convention center last month:

Just to make sure to manage expectations, wanted to give everyone a quick update on meet planning progress. I had a conference call with Team Lexus today and learned the delivery of the new Team Lexus IS350 has been delayed by Lexus and is currently scheduled for August, so we won't know until last few days with certainty about its arrival. What they will have for us to see during the open house: * The ONLY IS350 Test Mule car. This was described as the IS350 chassis and motor on a Toyota Crown body cut in half. * Two Team Lexus IS300 drift cars * Two Team Lexus IS300 Grand Am Cup road cars * Two Team Lexus GS400s Grand Am Cup road cars * Team Lexus sponsored IS300 Sportcross showcar * Team Lexus Race Rig Hopefully the uncertainty on final delivery won't change anyone's mind on attending. I'm personally as much interested in checking out all the awesome member cars that have registered as Team Lexus stuff. Other Updates: * We're working on building our list of raffle prizes and vendors who will be attending the meet. * Meet hotels are being visually checked out to make sure they meet our criteria early next week, then we'll post up details for those who want to stay overnight(s). * Food onsite will be catered by Little Havana, menu coming soon. PLEASE REGISTER NOW if you think you can come so we can get an accurate count to forecast food & drink, hotel rooms and important stuff like porta-johns. OK everybody, there have been several 'reserve the date' threads in the last few months for this MASSIVE Lexus event and now we're ready to open registration for the First Annual East Coast Lexus Meet. We're anticipating this will be the biggest Lexus-only event on the east coast (and possibly biggest in the US) and are anticipating 200 - 300 Lexus in attendance. For our inaugural east coast event, Lexus' factory sponsored race team (Team Lexus) has graciously offered to host us with an open house and a preview of the IS350 racecar being built for next season. The Baltimore / DC area was selected for the first annual meet because of the ready-built core group of Lexus enthusiasts within easy driving distance in the Northeast corridor that can make this meet a really big one. When Team Lexus volunteered their facility to host us, it became a no-brainer. Update on Raffle Prizes for the Dragon Meet I haven't had enough free time to really focus on getting a lot of giveaway items this year from sponsors, but we do still have some nice prizes and a couple of folks working on other potential items. General update on the Dragon meet coming in a couple of weeks now! We've now got 22 cars signed up for the event and 38+ people! Nine IS's so far in addition to the other Lexi... Jeff (driving instructor) has signed up to give us another driving school classroom session prior to our drive on Saturday AM. If there are special topics for him to cover you'd like to ask about, please PM me. Otherwise I'm going to ask him to talk about picking your line and approaching turns, braking technique, and other tips & techniques. Some interesting 'friends and family' cars coming to check out on this event in addition to the boosted Lexus (so far two FI IS and one GS) that are coming. - Jeff's Porsche GT3 will make its first appearance at the Dragon this year... last year it was in the shop and he brought his beater BMW 540 and the year before he brought his (sold) Porsche C4S. - Scott's BMW M Coupe now also has FI (supercharger) - Will is coming in his TRD Supercharged Camry - Jason still has his white GS400, but just bought an old school Porsche 930 (911 turbo the one with the massive wing) that he wants to drive this trip. ---------------------------------------- Reminder that we have a pretty exhaustive suggested packing list to look over on the www.lexusdragon.com website http://www.lexusdragon.com/suggested_packing_list.html Two items warrant a brief reminder... 1) Please bring a FRS/GMRS Radio if you have one or can buy one... and if you have an extra pack it too. I've got two extras that I'll bring, but others may be needed. 2) Pack all adult beverages you plan to consume, if you are so inclined. ROBBINSVILLE IS A DRY COUNTY, and it's 30 minutes to the closest town with ABC carryout available.

It only shows the last ten signed up, but if you click on the car model, it gives you the full list of everyone with an IS, GS, other, etc. We have the usual 'friends and family' attending including a Porsche GT3 and a supercharged M Coupe. Memorial Day Weekend - May 27 - 29, 2005 come to the Fourth Annual "Lexus Taming the Dragon" Meet See www.lexusdragon.com for more details on the meet. We normally have this meet in the fall, but shifted it to spring to avoid conflict with the big east coast Lexus meet in the DC area in August. Deal's Gap is right on the NC/TN Border, big groups are coming from Atlanta and Charlotte (among others). This road (called "Tail of the Dragon") is amazing, with 318 curves in 11 miles. This charity meet is primarily being orchestrated by a guy on VWvortex.com whom I've emailed and got clearance to setup our Lexus meet within the larger event so we can check out some other cool rides from the area (mostly European VWs, Audis, BMWs and some Supras) and some local vendors too. We haven't had a problem in the past at any of our meets, but please keep in mind this a low-key gathering with a LOT of people and they want to be able to use this place again, so no burnouts, etc. When: Saturday February 26, 2005, be there at noon Where: Charlotte University Area off Mallard Creek Road (between Harris Bvd and Sugar Creek) Morris Costumes 6900 Morris Estate Dr. Charlotte, NC (Note this is NOT the Morris Costume location off Monroe Road.... this is a new location formerly Solectron up in University.) Directions: From I-85: Take Exit 45 West Continue on WT Harris (Westbound) for 1.1 miles Take a left at the intersection of Mallard Creek Road Go approximately 1.1 miles Turn left onto Morris Estate Drive.
