About the ticking.Is it very loud? I've seen many people install the front black plastic covers on incorrectly. If you take off the black plastic plug wire covers on the valve covers and look at the cam sprockets there is a small metal tab on the sprocket for the cam sensor. This tab rubs against the front upper timing cover sometimes when installed incorrectly. The metal plate behind the cam sprocket has a metal tab to keep the timing cover away from the cam sprocket, if the timing cover is under the tab, it hits the cam sprocket and make a loud tapping noise. The cover should be over the metal tab. Hope this helps.

Had the extreme pleasure of driving a LS600h L yesterday. I was one of the lucky ones from each dealer that got to go to SoCal and drive one for a couple hours. It is worth every penny of the $109,000 base price. Unruly power, the AWD feels great. Turning in tight corners is easy also. After getting into a Ls460L the difference is really noticeable. The 600hL has so much more power and torque. Compared to any 12 cylinder Audi, Benz, or BMW, the LS600hL wins hands down. Way lower emissions than any of the others, way better MPG, More power (except for the Benz 600 twin-turbo). With the SULEV emission rating it's nearly 2 levels ahead of any competition, more hp and torque, quicker 50-70 mph acceleration, for way less $$. Great car. Too bad production will be limited. 100 Neiman Marcus editions, 1 of which goes to Cedar-Sinai Hospital, and 500 for 08 model year.

bank 1 valve cover, (closest to firewall) on the passenger side. If you have a 2003 model, it should be the screw in type. 19mm head with a rubber hose running to the intake.

I've work at a dealer and almost every set of Toyo S/T equipped car at some after about 10,000 miles were making lots of noise. With the directional tread patten, you can't cross rotate for pulls/drifts either. I don't like those tires for those reasons. Hopefully yours don't sound like a helicopter on wheels.

Only bad things about those TOYOS is you'll have tire noise as they wear,simliar to the noise from a chainsaw

The A/C light blinking means the compressor has stopped turning. Potential compressor porblem.

Check the voltage drop on the ground side. 300's are prone to have bad negative ground cables.

O/D light blinking means there is a code for the trans. Check the codes. Has nothing to do with brake fluid.

Your coolant bottle is cracked and leaking coolant.

Supereasy to tell the difference from KDSS and NON-KDSS. Look under the front of the GX, KDSS sway bar is over 2" thick and bolts to the lower contol arm. NON-KDSS sway bar is about 1.3 " thick and has end links that bolt to the steering knuckle. KDSS also has a different skidplate that has a wire mesh screen on it. NON-KDSS has a solid metal skidplate.

There is a fix for that noise. The outer mirror has drain holes near the puddle light,it's too big and causes air to leak into the cabin at higher speeds. Tape off the hole with masking tape and drive the car, if the noise goes away, have the dealer reduce the size of the hole with foam tape.

Hey wwest, where do you get your information for the operation of the trans? REgaring the pump capacity and shifint characteristcs?

Bigger engine, more power, sharkfin antenna are a few of many changes from the 06 to 07 model year.

You can adjust the torsion springs to give more tension. You need to pull the upper side trim panel down , there are 3 holes to anchor the spring end. Move it to the one closest to the rear of the car for the most tension.Does the trunk have a spoiler? Sometimes people add a spoiler and the springs can't hold the weight.You can buy springs from the dealer for a spoiler equipped trunk to give more support.

There is a TSIB #NV006-98, that is for accelerator pedal vibration. Early production ones where the worst for this problem. I will try to attach the TSIB to this post.

You need to lower it from the body to gain access to the tire valve.

I meant, The Lexus warranty flat rate is 1.8. What Lexus pays the dealer for a warranty R&R. My dealer has 8 techs and all of us can replace a starter is a GS400 or Ls400 in under 2 hours. Talents not really as important as having done the job hundreds of times.

For that money, buy a GS350.

Sure, if you've never taken one off, it'll take some time. I've been working for a dealer for many years now and to me the job is easy. A newbie should be able to do the whole job in less than 3 hours.

If the fit is loose enough to "wiggle" the tube out, you should replace the bypass assembly. Even if you could "seal" it somehow, what are the chances that it won't blowout on you on a hot day as you're driving down the road? You'll overheat and be stranded somewhere. That tube and heater hose will flex as the engine loads up and will always have some tension on it. The bypass isn't too difficult to remove once the intake manifold is off.
