  1. Cam seals do leak on the VVT-I V8. I've changed 2 sets, and seen many leak. They are not like the older 1uz-fe engine where you can take off the cam gear and replace the seal. The VVT-I V8 cam seal is behind the cylinder head . You have to remove the cam from the head and disassemble it to remove the cam seal. Lot more time consuming. If yours leak down the road, you'll have to remove the timing belt, valve covers and cams to replace the 2 seals

  3. Basically it is the high spot of the tire that would cause a vibration since the tire is not round. Matching the high spot of the tire to the low spot on the wheel reduces road force variation and is measured in lbs. Anything over 12 lbs will cause some abnormal feel in the vehicle. Your tires are way over and I would have them matched for a smoother ride. Do you have an alignment printout? What are the angles?

  4. Invoice, I bet 99.9% of the invoice prices people are quoted or find online, including Edmunds.com are pure B.S. The only true invoice is straight from the dealer daily website. Only dealer GM's have the real numbers. They will also B.S. the salesmen as to the "invoice" to keep profit in the deal.

  5. If you have the motor off, here's how to retime it. Plug the motor to the harness, from the door window switch, run AUTO down until the motor stops. Then hold MANUAL up 6-9 revolutions, I use paint marks on the gear teethto help count. Unplug the motor and count the teeth on the regulator, find the middle and bolt the motor there. You can only get one bolt started and will have to take the assembly to the car and plug the motor and drive it to move the regulator to access the other bolt holes DO NOT HIT AUTO UP OR DOWN during this step. Once the 3 bolts are tight put the regulator/motor unit back into the car. When it's in hold manual down until it stops, then manual up until it stops.
