  1. if you go build one on the lexus site, comes to $37,110 fully loaded. with my zip code 76137. but you are correct and its a moot piont...
  2. but why did it just all of a sudden appear RIGHT after i had the rack replaced. i mean, i didnt drive 10 feet before i noticed it. i caled jason 10 mins into the drive on my way home and he said if it was the alignment it should settle out. when i brought it back amonth later and it was still doing it, he swapped the tires around and that made it pull the other direction. oh well...i will have discount tire put that tire in my trunk so i can take some pix of the belts...a few more mileson it and the trad would have come undone...
  3. You really want me to comment on that(I threw you enough slow balls yesterday; my turn now!!!)??? j/k When I changed my 3rd brake light bulbs, all I did was lift the plastic housing up, pull toward the front of the car, and it's out...replace bulbs! ← RAOTFLMAO and i caught every one of em didnt i...damned verizon and their dropped calls
  4. *whispers to VBdenny* Psst...hit the edit button" :) as for him buying my tickets, its a family thing we do together. twice a year. really its the only time we get to spend togehter, we are all off doing our own things. im never home either, i practically live at my office. thsi si the first weekend off i have ahd in.... .... .... ....5 months.
  5. DOH!!! i cant believe i didnt ask that LOL. take it from here blake, i am baffled by my own stupidity...
  6. i have switched to synth on cars with 200K and i have done it to cars with 2K either way if the engine is in good working order you will be fine. do a compression test..if you are around 170-180 on all cylinders you are probably good for the switch. do a search and decide for youself. if you want my opinion, you can reach me via PM or email. ← Oh NO!!! here we go again...LOL!!!!! ← going where? thats as far a i get involved in these topics. :D
  7. NP, i just did mine today to clean the glass in prep for window tint, thats th eonly reason i know LOL. there are 2 little clear plastic pieces of film that look liek washers in between the bolts and the mouts. dont lose these and make sure you reinstall or you will have a rattle... if you do lose them, saran wrap will work as a replacement. :whistles:
  8. i have been to texas motor speedway every winston/nextel cup race for the last 2 years(so 4 races total), this year will be different though, because i am leaving. dont ask me how much it was, my dad buys the tickets, so i dont have a clue, but it is awesome, especially if you get em ringside!
  9. remove the colored cover like you are going to change the bulb. therew will be 2 bolts holding in the assembly to the mount. remove those and pop off the assembly.
  10. nope, MSRP is $37,000 http://www.lexus.com/lexusConfigApp/lexsummary.do
  11. Mostly correct. However, you forgot a step: Fasten seat belt. ← oops... :P
  12. best to follow your owners manual, i always say the first oil change, to be on the safe side.
  13. i think the RX300 has a 4spd auto, the RX330 has a 5spd auto. that extra gear allows for lower RPMS at cruisng speed. i run into the same problem with the 4 spd in my ES, whewnever i am crusing 70-75, the RPMS are always like 3,000. its crazy bad for fuel economy but hey...its a lexus. i think the 4psd auto was the stupidest tranny ever invented. it just isnt right for anything. its even bad in the city.
  14. Hey, I'm new here, I also have an sc400, and I really want to turn it into a convertible.... I can't find that site.....do you know which site it is? Thanks. ← THANKS...that is the one I have been searching for... now.......does anyone know where I can get this job done, and how much it will cost? ← Just drive it real fast under a big truck. ← Terminator 3 style B) , t'would be cheaper i think...
  15. i was thinking of doing the same thing but I'm not quite sure how the whole salvage title deal works, how hard is it to get a normal title so that i can register and drive it? ← It can never have a normal title again. however, there are hundreds of thousands, if not millions of salvaged cars on the road today. a common misconception would also be that full coverage insurance is difficult to come by with a salvage title. not the case. i have a car insured under allstate right now with a salvage title. i still need to remove it as i have since gotten rid fo the car, but my policy renews next month, so it will drop automatically. a salvage occurs when the vehciles repairs exceed half (or in some states, all) of its total value. i thinkt he only stats its full value are Vermont, Alaska and maybe Michagan. everywhere else its half value. so if the car was only worth 24K and there was 12K worth of damage done, the isnurance co. totalled it and gave it a salvage title, the owner bougth it back from the ins co and repaired it with the check they wrote him for the value of the car. happens all the time. things to look for when driving: unusual vibrations, pulling in one direction or another, larger than normal or smaller than normal gaps in body panels, uneven look to the paint. pist a pic or let me look at it. you are in dallas, so if the car is local, bring it across the county line to Ft. Worth and i will happily check it out for you for free. :D tell the seller you woudl liek to drive it for a day or 2 before you make a descision. ← i recieved your email, you have one back...il be in irving on tuesday afternoon. we can meet up and i can take you for a ride in the 14th lexus ES to ever roll off the assembly line...with her new window tint :)
  16. you have my dream wheels
  17. you are sir, there si a bubble in the tire. It covers an area of about 6 inches long. when discount tire takes it off on thursday, i will ask to keep it and inspect the inside. i will PM you withthe results. the tread was worn fairly evenly.
  18. Step 1: Walk to car. Step 2: Unlock door. Step 3: Insert key in ignition. Step 4: Turn key. Step 5: Close door. Step 6: Shift to "D". Step 7: drive away. the time it takes for you to do step 4-7 is all the time required to let the engine idle. idling is worse for your engine than driving it while its cold.

  20. They rebuilt my CD changer a couple of years ago for $175 (in my previous '95 LS400 w/the Pioneer system). ← i had no idea a CD changer could be rebuilt...strange...but i suppose if it works! :)

  22. Not on the rear, not in texas anyways. 20% is a little dark to be legal. i think the limit is 30%, but i dont think a cop is going to be able to tell the difference without a need. and even if he can its easliy stipped and redone. the cars he has tinted for me or that i have sent to him include: My Exploer My Contour My Ranger The F-150 The 2000 ram 1500 that my dad had before the f-150 My 2002 Chrysler Concorde Ltd. a Lexus GS430 that a nice lady at my office owns and a BMW 750il for my boss. all at full price, i think he could afford to eat something on mine :)
  23. in most cases if it will send spark to a ground, it will. MOST of the time. i have seen it where it doesnt though. try simply replacing that wire. if that wire is bad, replace them witht he set you bought (cant buy just one)...if not, i woudl keep em anyway, and probably change them anyway. you are int here so whatthe hell. did you try pulling out that plug?
  24. You already have this job done, right? So why would it matter? Technically, just about any time you work on the car the manual says to disconnect the battery, it's for safety. Of course it depends but many procedures start with disconnecting the battery. ← the only reason i said no is because you dont have to disconnect anything electronic to do the job...well a few things but tey are ABS and the Electronic SpeedSensitive Steering...but they arent gonna fryif you dont... i wonder maybe if the dealer did disconnect the batt and erased his lock code and his preset stations. my car has been in for way more work that a R&P and the stations have never been erased, therefore i can deduce that the battery was not disconected nor any main fuse removed while being worked on. thus it is not nessecary, because JP Importz did the work. If it needed to be done, he would have done it...correctly. my car has had well over $3,000 worth fo restoration work done there, (over a span of 3 viusits) and i dont think the batt was ever disconnected for the reasons stated above.
  25. this makes no sense, if i simplyh tell them i am leavingt eh country (not liek its a lie) and i will nto have acess to it for 6-8 months...why should i keep it. i could leave it open and just close my bank account LOL. NVM, i took care of it. all i had to do was go into my account profile, give my # and clikc close account.
