ok i will do that. meantime, the pads i have wont do, they were decent, but they are noi longer worth anything. so blakes car will not get the rotary treatment at all. can we drop the discussion? i will go read up on it. the point of this is, i know what im doing with it for the most part. i wasnt aware you werent supposed to remove the wax with the synthetic bonnet. im not rotary stupid. i can do some amazing things for my customers and i have, but only with the proper pads. i dont detail as many cars as you do, so i dont use it as often on customers cars. but i use it frequently on all cars in my family, when i have good pads.

thats the way my dad taught me to use it. sorry for getting people panties all up in a bunch. did you not hear me say i had appplicator pads for the last time i used it? i use it to apply as well as remove when i use it, this would be the first time i havent used it for both. WTF is the synthetic bonnet for if not to remove the product? you CERTAINLY cannot apply the product with it...

well, at the moment, i like the way it rides. and FWIW, my struts are so old they are usless. i bottom out on freeway dips.

Just remember that tinting will also affect your night vision! ;) ← hehe true :P hey since my es300 has a stock tint from factory...will those have to be removed or will they tint over the old ones?? mine hvae a slight brown color to them. ← actually, it doesnt take long to adjust. my sight adjusted to the new tint within minutes of hitting the road. i drove into the shop and it was sunny and 75 degrees, when i left, it was dark and 55. so i drove in with no tint durning the day and left with limo tint at night, it doesnt get any hjarder fo a transition than that. But remember, i am a young pup (Almost 20, but my vision is not perfect by ANY means) so if you are substantially older it may take longer to adjust (**DISCLAIMER, that wasnt a stab at out older members, simply stating that on the whole, the ability to drastically adjust your vision takes longer with older age**) the tint in your lexus cannot be removed, it is a dye or something that is put in the glass when it is made. i didnt realize how much mine had until i looked at the gtlass against the white walls in the shop...it was quite dark! Take the plunge and get tinted, if you are in/near DFW i can hook you up with my guy. It will reduce interior temps, and keep you interior in MUCH better shape. thats in addition to looking really good. and it saves on gas cause you dont have to run yo A/C as much.

well he probably is right to a certian extent. you want the tires contact patch to have as much rubber ont he road as possible. too much air and the tire looks like this on the road: *turned sideways where | = the road and ( or ) = the bottom of the tire from the front. Too much air: )| too little air (| so too much air, and the tire wears down the senter too fast, nd too little air and it will wear on the outer sides too fast.

my point is that wth the tire looking low like that, all it would take is a good pothole hit to crack a wheel. ill stick with 35 all around, for everyones comfort. if i go any lower than that, i cant stand it.

every car i have ever used it on has come out looking fantastic, but i will take that into consideration. i dont have the correct pads, so i wont be using the rotary, fair enough? FWIW, i used it hundreds of times on my contour, came out great, and i used it to remove the product, applied by hand and removed by rotary. I used it on other peoples cars when i had the correct pads. mine have worn out. i told you, im not unskilled or inexperienced, i do know what im doing. but ill leave this be. i dont think i will need it anyways, there are other methods of dealing with this...you will see.

ummm...the fact that my tire looks liek its flat if i dont?:whistles: come on people, what is so strange about it? i have a Specialized Hard Rock Pro in the garage thats reccomended at 65 psi. 40 isnt that high. the car is tracking fine, it rides great...if i drop the pressure down to >30, the damned tire looks flat.

i know how you feel, im headed that way. the car has 144,500 on it now and had 137,500 when i bought it rigth before thanksgiving. every month it seems i am driving more and more, with this last month (february) beingt he kicker at 3,500 miles...in one month! -
i would sugest your stock wheels with the Falken ZE512's. i have these tires and they and lexus are a match made in heaven.

just regular cotton applicator. it would be applied with my orbital and removed with the rotary. i have a wool looking thing for a removal pad (the kind the seat covers are made from). i have no cutting pads for it unfortunately.

Here in Eastern Ontario, Canada, our roads are white with encrusted salt at this time of year. A cloud of "salt dust" follows you when you drive down the street. Very corrosive to everything, but especially to cars. My house is on the banks of the St. Lawrence River... all that salt washes directly into the river when the snow melts. Can't be good for the fish, not to mention all the towns and cities (like my village) that draw their drinking water from the river. Oh, to live in sunny Southern Califonia! Only smog to worry about... Enough preaching, already... I added some pictures of the offending radiator cap to my post above, just so you all can see what I'm talking about. tck... ← that doesnt look like a lexus cap. -
my factory alarm works nd i works well, but its not a bump it and it will go off alarm.

yeah, maybe the rotary isnt a goodidea...orbital, nothing more. i just dont want to risk it blake. i have to be professional about this. i have used the rotary before on black lexus'. but never on one this bad. we wil try everything else, btu ill leve the rotary at home. it doesnt look good on me and i cant afford to fix it if i screw it up. thast the bottom line. i dont have one of these paint thickness gauges, even though i should as much detailing as i do.

well i will tell you what i will do. rotary is worst case scenario/last option. i wont use much pressure on it, and if its not working on one spot, ill stop usng it. ill test it somewhere inconspicous like the inside of a doorjamb first. just to make you and blake both feel more comnfortable. ;) i have other methods i am confident will work. if they dont, he hasnt lost anything by allowing me to do this, because i am not charging him :)

yeah i wondered if they were 16's. maybe i shoudl drop it to 35 psi? the 40 feels fine. ill let you knwo how they wear. ill just keep my eys on everything.

yes i have done a black lexus, 1992 LS400. this rotary will be the one i showed you, the Wen, its not fast enough to burn threough paint. trust me. but i will use my orbital first. and i may not even use the rotary, it will depend on what it looks like when he gets here.

mine has a spring on it, if you turn it half a turn, it will spring the rest of the way loose so you can remove it. if the cap was on there for 12 years, then the coolant was never changed, correct? if it wasnt you should probably do a completel backflush with the radiator. unfortuantely if the cap has never been removed, then its probably corroded on. check the Fluidyne Lineup for a match for your vehicle. i dont have the wbesite offhand, but do a google search, they make some of the bast radiators in the world. -
A/c Problem, Light Blinking, No Cold Air

possibly the belt. if the serpentine belt slips, the light will blink. this belt powers your A/C and alternator. ( i think your power steering is a separate belt...depends on year). it may work fine for the load the alternator puts on it. but as soon as you turn on your A/C, the belt slips. its very easy, takes 15 mins to change it if you have never even picked up a wrench before. -
there si a problem with that though,the manufacturers reccomendation is for the tires that came installed at the factory. they dont even make the ones that came on my car any more... they havent for over a decade... if you speak of the tire manufacturers PSI rating, not sure of its reccomendation, btu when i took those pix, i was nearly on the wheel! oh and the gauge i used to read intitally read high, they actually only had 22 psi in them...i used my gauge this time instead of my coworkers, i guess his wasnt accurate. the gauge at the gas station on the hose read same as mine.... they now have ~40 in front and ~35 in the rear, just so you all will feel better :) > Blake 918 airs his tires to 44 PSi, and they are on the same size wheel as mine and they may be the same size tire altogether.

no, in fact, its better for tem. the minumum on these tires is 35 PSI, im down to 32, THATS bad for the tires. as long as you are under the max PSI rating, you are ok in terms of wear. i dont like my tires looking flat, in fact, i think i wil go air them up now.

But your only gonna need 1! FALKEN ZIEX ZE-512. H rated, 195-60-R15. I have logged well over half a million miles in my short driving life. These have to be the smoothest tires i have ever encountered in that distance. No ifs ands or buts, these things are INCREDIBLE. Silent as the dead. The old tires were contributing so much to the harsh ride, only i didnt realize how much until the car stood firmly in its new shoes. These tires are simply amazing. I forgot they were there. from the inside, i am having trouble figuring out what to do with this newfound lexus silence!. i cant believe how much this cars ride and responsiveness has cleared up, all because of the tires. The tread is Directional. this means a better dispersement of grip and better displacement of water. It also means decreased noise levels which is good. The treadwear rating is 420 (60,000 mile gauruntee) and so far, i cant even begin to complain about the handling. its hard to find a fault. i think these tires and this car should have gone hand in hand from the factory. I cant really complain about the installers, discount tire co. inc. they werent bad, they didnt schratch my wheels which is good, but at the same time, the manager that took my order was not very polite. he wasnt rude at all, but he wasnt smiling LOL. however, they didnt put the reccomended amount fo air in my tires. i liek to keep them at 44 PSI, the max onthe tire is 51PSI. they put 32PSI in. and now, more pictures. i ill keep you updated as tme goes by. and let you knwo how hey are wearing, wet weather traction etc. and after a hard afternoon's work, a Texas Sunset.
