  1. Thanks for the help, that did it. So much to learn, and this site is a great resource. One more (off topic) question if I may. Nav map screen changes from day view to night according to the time of day. Am I you can get anything over there able to toggle off option? I don't like the night map screen.
  2. I bought my 2013 ES 350 about three weeks ago. For the first week or so the parking assist sensors work normally. Then at some point I noticed they stop working. Is there possibly some option that got inadvertently turned off? I can't find anything in the manual war on my set up screen.
  3. I do not keep my AC settings very cold, 78F or 79F at the at the coldest. But the air temp coming out of the dash vents is sometimes as low as 30 F. Anyone ever experience this same condition?
  4. I would not “tap” any fuse. And use and a switch for this device only.
  5. WOW, 2014 update we'll be available November 2015. Isn't that exciting!
  6. This problem started out happening very rarely, maby once every two or three months. I would start the car, start driving, and noticed that I have no control of the radio volume. I would turn the radio off, back on, and everything would be fine. Gradually it started happening more and more often. In the last few days it is happened several times and it takes two or three, “on and of” attempts to get the volume to work. Any thoughts or suggestion?
  7. The battery has never failed start the car except for the few occasions where one or more doors what is left open for a relatively short period of time, 20 to 30 mins. Since this battery is now 38 months old I am going to replace it. Thanks for all your input and suggestions.
  8. The problem is called Florida. Heat kills batteries and Florida is hot. First thing to check is the condition of the terminals. Most likely problem before battery. Good luck with it all. Ordinarily I would agree with you about the “Florida” thing, but this was a cool morning in January. The battery terminals are Very clean in the battery tests “Good” when I have it checked. Also, the book calls for a 600 CCA battery, I put a 750 CCA battery in last time I replace it.
  9. I have used both the factory Nav and a cell phone Nav App at the same time and I never experience a conflict. With some features I like this cell phone App better and with other features I like the Lexus Nav better.
  10. Curious has anyone else had the same experience? The battery goes dead after the doors were left open for 20 to 25 minutes. I was loading the car for a weekend trip, bringing luggage out as it was packed. Between trips out to the car I left one or more doors open. When I tried to start it the battery was dead. This has happened more than once. The battery is not that old and only a few small LED lights should not kill the battery in that amount of time. Anyone else ever had this happen?
  11. the tire shop should have done that for you…IF you bought them at a tire shop!
  12. I have a somewhat similar problem. If I set the cabin temp to 76F (24.4C), the register blows 40F. In order to get the temp to be comfortable i have set it for 80 or 82, and then it starts warming up to normal. then after a while I can set it to 76. I Ordered a solar sensor, which is being replaced tomorrow. Hope that Fixes it.
  13. "doorman" is giving some very good advice here. Desensitization issues are frequently related to Radio Frequency Interference from malfunctioning electrical equipment. In addition to the possible sources that he cited you should consider: malfunctioning fluorescent lights (avoid using the CFL bulbs in your opener), malfunctioning sodium vapor security lights, arcing high voltage power lines, nearby radio and radar transmitters, nearby cell towers nearby military transmitters. The frequency that the garage door openers use is not regulated. To better understand the regulation issue look at this link: http://www.tdsupplies.com/articles/395_MHz_Military_Radio_Remote_Interference.html No offense intended, but I think your source is not well informed on this subject. On all the cars that I am familiar with, the remote garage door opener works whether the ACC or IGN power is on or not. All the cars that I have owned that had this feature built into the car worked this way. There are two ways to secure your garage door opener: lock your car or disable the remote operation on the garage door opener local control panel (that is the reason for the "LOCK" feature on your local control panel). I’m aware of the “lock” feature, but that locks me out also if I use it. The garage door opener button in my daughter in law’s BMW only works if the ignition is On or in Acc position.
  14. Garage door opener security: I park my 08 ES350 in the driveway in front of my garage. Even without the key/remote and the car turned off, the garage door opener button is always hot. It seems to me that this is a security issue. With most cars that I know of, the ignition must be on for the garage door opener button to work. Any comments on this?
  15. Sometimes it’s less, sometimes it’s more. The remaining mileage is just an approximation. It’s adjusting all the time according to your driving speed, acceleration and many other factors. Also, when you fill the tank, that starting figure is based on the last talk you just used. So if you just returned from a road trip it will set the tank estimation based on highway driving.
  16. if there actually was a workaround I think it would be somewhere on the internet.
  17. I know this is an old thread but i'm reading it for the 1st time. Does anyone know if there is an update Nav DVD for the '08 ES350?
  18. the real important unknown about obama is, "does he drive a Lexus?"
  19. I think using the MP3 connector in the center console is so much easier then trying to figure out how to stream music via Bluetooth. My ’08 ES has the connector, I assume an ’07 has one also.
  20. My ’08 has a regular door key in the remote. Not sure if the 2011 has one also
  21. You can try looking on ebay. Wherever you buy it, you’ll need it programmed to your car.
  22. so tell me, what do you really think about this?
  23. I have an ’08 ES350 & I’m considering installing an aftermarket performance chip. Here is their site: “http://www.performancechipsdirect.com/Lexus/ES/“ Has anyone done this or have any thoughts on it.
