  1. Here's an update. My battery went out and I had it replaced with a new battery. Voila! My ipod problems are gone. Strange, huh?
  2. Do the rotors need to be replaced at 15k? Can't they simply be machined?
  3. I have a 2010 ES with nav. I have an Iphone 4s attached via bluetooth and then have a 16 gig Ipod attached to the USB port on the car via a wire. This arrangement worked for several years until a few months ago when I have been unable to use my Ipod because I receive the following error message: Connection error. Please consult the manual for instruructions on how to reconnect the USB device or Ipod." Once and I while my Ipod works, but most of the time I receive the error message. The only fix I have found is that once I receive the error message, if I turn the car off at a stop light, and turn it back on, the Ipod works, however, this is a pain. Any suggestions?
  4. I am looking for a bike rack for my 2010 ES 350. I am looking for a rack that is secure, plus is easy to install and remove. I had a trunk mounted rack that attached to the trunk with hooks and straps and it was time consuming and frustrating to install. I have a road bike.
  5. Had something similar and the body shop guy put a solution on a rag, and whiped away the white paint, reveailing my untouched black paint underneath. He then waxed the area and it is flawless. Took 10 minutes.
  6. I have a 2010 ES and the chrome strip at the bottom of the passenger door keeps falling off. If the door rubs on a grass parkway or on a curb when you open or close it, it breaks the little fasteners that keep the chrome strip attached. Anyone else have this problem?
  7. To the poster who suggested having the replacement piece clearcoated, how is this done? Do you get the part from the dealer and bring it to a bodyshop to have clearcoated before it is installed and then go back to the dealer to have it installed?
  8. He probably works for BMW or Mercedes and is trying to scare up some new business.
  9. Does anyone know whether a Nav update will update the lousy software for the ipad integration on the ES 350's audio system? Anyone addressed this issue?
  10. If you turn the knob on the right side of the audio system, it will scroll up and down your list of artists or songs, but this is still a very slow and clumsey option (but is better than pressing the page down button 100 times). If anyone else has any other suggestions on improving the ipod interface, let us know!
  11. I have a 2010 ES. I installed my 16 gig Ipod on my ES and have been very frustrated by the software on the ES. First, I have 407 artists on my IPOD and several thousand songs. The software shows five artists at a time and forces you to page down, page by page by page to move between artists. Then, if you pause more than a second or two on any one page, it automatically starts playing music from the first artist on the page. Compared with the software on the IPOD itself, the Lexus software is TERRIBLE. Have any of you been frustrated by this? Any solutions?
  12. It is better to rip your CD's into Itunes and then play your music with an Ipod plugged into your audio system. It will display artist, title, genre, etc.
  13. If you dislike the IPOD software on your '10 or '11 ES, write an email to Lexus (follow the link below) and tell them...maybe they will update and improve the software. http://lexus2.custhelp.com/app/ask
  14. I have experienced no problems whatsoever with regular and am saving a huge amount on gas. My typical drive is rush hour and performance is really not an issue. If I am planning a weekend road trip I will fill up with premium and definately enjoy the added performance, but 90% of the time, I wouldn't notice the difference (e.g. averaging 20 mph in stop and go traffic).
  15. Same here. My car is at the dealer since last week to take care of some rattle sounds in the rear part of the car (possibly rear windshield) and I asked them about this problem of picking and playing the first track of every page automatically while scrolling. He confirmed this to be a known issue with NO update of firmware yet. But he did say, that the update should be coming soon. If you hear that an update on the horrible IPOD software is available, please post on here and let us know. Thanks!
  16. I have a 2010 ES and a Blackberry bold phone. I use the bluetooth phone connection to make and receiver calls, but can I use the Pandora app on my phone to play music through the car speakers via Bluetooth? If so, how do you do it?
  17. You have the older firmware. See your dealer. With the new firmware, your first selected song continues to play as you scroll until you pick a new song. This is a more "natural" method of scrolling and saves just a bit of time since you don't have to wait as the top song of each group of five starts to play as you scroll. See your dealer, an update is available. An improvement, but scrolling still takes forever!! I went to the dealer over the weekend and the dealer insists there is no firmware upgrade for the 2010 ES 350 audio system. Do you have some information on this? Did you have your car audio upgraded by the dealer?
  18. So, does anyone else have any tricks on how to avoid the multiple page downs to scroll quickly between songs and artists for IPODs?
  19. I concur with the Management. Only a fool pays for something that isn't used. I buy regular gas for my M-F rush hour commute 10 miles each way to work because I'm on the freeway and average only about 25 miles per hour. I have never had a problem with regular, by the way. When I am going away for the weekend and will be enjoying the "open highway" I purchase 92 octane.
  20. I even tried using the voice commands. There is a command for audio, but when I select audio, I get a response that audio doesn't function in this mode.
  21. When I am playing a song, and scrolling, the top of each five then starts playing and interrupts the song I was playing -- which is not good. What does this tell you about my firmware? Is it the older version or the newer? If older, can I upgrade my firmware (or can the dealer)? Playlists are an answer, but I was hoping that there is something that Lexus thought of to address this issue. The Apple software on an IPOD addresses this problem, you can easily scroll through artists/songs quickly and if you spead up the scrolling, you can even scroll by letter. I can't believe Lexus didn't think of this and address it in its software.
  22. I have a 2010 ES. I recently bought a 16 gig IPOD and have my entire music collection on it. The problem is that I have several hundred separate artists and several thousand songs. Is there a faster way to scroll through the songs and artists other than pulling up the first screen (of maybe five), hitting the page down button on the navigation screen, getting the next five artists or song titles, and hitting the page down button again....etc, etc. etc. It takes a half hour to get to an artist in the middle of the alphabet. Any suggestions to speed up this process???
  23. In this economy (and with the problems facing Toyota) you should be negotiating below invoice, not MSRP.
