  1. im looking to improve the handling of my 98 and i was wondering how much of an improvement 1in drop springs would do. most people with drop springs usually upgrade to 17in rims or bigger. im satisfied with the rims i have now. before i plunge $400 on springs and installation, i would like to ask the kind members at LOC :D questions like how it would effect the ride, gap in the wheel well, camber, noticeable appearance of the drop, etc... 2. when the engine's hot, its a little below 1000rpm.
  3. you got a point there with the brake parts being cheaper than the transmission parts. im better off leaving the lever on D. thanx for replying to my post amf1932.
  4. to me, it seems the car brakes easier when i put the car in neutral. when i have to come to a complete stop from like 35-40 mph, there's a somewhat heavy brake feel. at first i thought it was because the es300 is a nose-heavy car with so much weight shifting to front when braking. then i thought maybe i want to slow done quicker than my engine wants to so it makes sense to disconnect the engine from the tranny. im not sure about any wear and tear when engaging neutral at speeds of 30+. while decelerating, i flick the lever back to drive when im at below 10mph while im applying the brake. i do this becuase from a stop, it takes like 1 second for the tranny to hook up with the engine. and when i shift into D while decelerating, i dont feel the tranny connecting to the engine so it feels seemless.
  5. yup, you should be able to install that spoiler on a 92. just be sure it's placed a little to the back so you can be able to unscrew the screws under the spoiler where the brake light is if something goes wrong with the bulb.
  6. im planning to upgrade the speakers yet i dont want no fancy box enclosures or 4 subs in my trunk. i couldnt determine the size of the woofer so maybe somebody can help me out. i was thinking of having the stock pioneer woofer replaced with a more powerful and richer sounding one.
  7. i had michelin pilot xgt h4s installed on my car recently. they're a little cheaper then the original energy tires that came with the car. some people claim the tread wears too quickly on the pilots. the company says the tires are good for 50k miles. imo, the noise levels are acceptable and the ride is smooth like its suppose to be.
  8. thanx for the insight steviej. i saw the guys at the shop do the wiring on the left brake light. i was wondering why they did that since it would have been simple to bridge a connection on the center mounted brake light. as for the alarm, it acts up when i open the trunk using the keychain. i would close the trunk and it would alarm still sounds. the only way to stop it is unlucking and locking the doors with the key chain.
  9. i noticed just yesterday that the brake light on my spoiler doesnt work when the front head lamps are on. i tried all different kinds of combinations: with and w/out high beam or fog lamps; it works when the knob is switched in auto but in broad daylight when the lamps are not on. it doesnt work when the knob is switched to "=D" (the thingy that looks like a lamp) so im guessing there's a conflict between the headlamps and the brake light spoiler. also, the alarm has been acting up ever since i had the spoiler installed. i hope its a dyi since the shop i had it installed is 12 miles away. btw, im new in the site and i think it's great; especially the clickable smilies! i like this one! :snoooorrrtttt:
  10. wow! thats one hell of a deal! i have a 1998 ES300 that i got from the lexus dealership last year for $17,000. its bare to the bone with no leather, cd changer, moonroof, or even traction control. the car had 37900 miles which made me get the car! :snoooorrrtttt:
