  2. yeah i can not find anyone with glass headlights only the glass high beams...its sad to say but the demand is just not high enough and prob never will be...there is a way though...if you are ready to shell out some money a good custom glass maker around town can prob do it$$$$$ so really a 5 or 6000 looks better huh...what is the color difference between the 2??
  3. i will have pics just as soon as i get my stupid digital cam fixed i still have to post pics for my headlights too!!! ahhh its killing me ! and i promise that it looks hot sightdev...just be openminded my friend..you will love them!
  4. My friend dont be silly... dont buy a muffler, that is a ricer thing to do, go for a cat back exhaust system...lookin between 450-1500 for one, go to nonturbo.com they have great stuff for your car. As for a decent LCD screen get ready to pop out a good 1000++ they get expensive. it sounds like your speakers are busted i would get new speakers, a alpine type R 10inch and have it installed in the spot of your old factory sub, and get a decent amp i recommend the MTX 4250 class D that is a digital amp...dont get a mono they go out to fast!! anything else let me know!!
  5. So i was pondering putting the corvette c5 rims on my car the 18 in the back and 17 in the front....or the z06 rims but i cannot find out if they will fit..i am looking for someone around town to let me try them on my car..till then if anyone knows...gimme a shout
  6. Alright guys listen up, this mod will work for anyone that has a 95+ sc, i dono if the earlier years have this available. ok on the doors of the car is a black strip of paint, mine was chipping and underneath i noticed it was a shinny chrome. so in my state of curiosity i put several lines of tape surrounding the area of paint around my car and i applied paint stripper to the chipped strip of black paint. i got the excess small chips and crease by the door off by applying stripper to a cloth and wipping it all off. the end result is a beautiful shiny chrome strip on your doors. very classy!! if you do this put on some gloves...that paint stripper burns!!!! Happy SC Days my friends!!
  7. Dude if i knew i would def buy them by now, there is a badass 8000k HID low beam kit for the supra/sc300 that is sold by a company on ebay for $280 though...nice investment.
  8. YES!!! thankyou i am about to make my way there...i extend my hand in gratitude! it really does suck down here with no air...and i was born and raised here lol!! but now time to worry about soemthing worse..where the hell do i put my car in this crazy hurricane that is dead on its way here!!!! all of tampa run for your lives!!!
  9. AHHHHHHHH!!! my AC has joined the realm of the deceased....what is wrong...any pointers before i spend 200 on just getting it cheked out...they wont fix it just tell me whats wrong.... ok it worked then the next day it stopped...the compressor still engages, it still blows everything works but no cold air, when i turn on the AC i hear what sounds like a wheezing man comming from the vents...where are the fuses to the AC, and if there is a leak how would i know...please help me it is a staggering 93 degrees everyday in Tampa and that wont go away for another 2 months!!!
  10. Ha...i like changing timing belts about as much as i like someone bashing my teeth in with an aluminum bat..... your timing belt is a belt running your cam gears and crank pulley....it drives your engine's timing with precision and great accuracy...or else...kaboom! dont mess with it unless you are somewhat familar with it... you can have it professionaly replaced for around 250-350 dollars...it is well worht it for the less experianced!!
  11. soarer 479 thanks i love mkiv it is the best site for mods...forgot about that one, the kit i am getting comes with the pte 55 trim turbo, and a nice 3mm headgasket so i plan on runing stock 8lbs, they say u get about 320 hp to the wheels but we will see about that. but i do plan on running high boost from time to time..safely of course after a few mods but i just wanna make sure that a 6 spd is a good and effective investment. thanks for the help gentelman...i have made my decision....getrag come to papa!!
  12. well as long as it is getting done! so how much is he charging you?
  13. Yeah i hear that the 5-spd will hold up fairly well in the 400-500hp range so i will keep it for now, it is just another project i would like to do...i get bored sometimes lol... besides it will have more pull than the 6-spd...gotta love them gear ratios!
  14. If you want to do it yourself go to any NAPA and get the parts, cant beat their price. and my pump was whinning away, so i drained the fluid and put in some new ps fluid, it was actually pretty affective. and mine has about 110,000mi on it. i found my real prob was that i was running kinda low on fluid that was pretty bad. did u already try this?
  15. I have decided not only am i buying a turbo kit from non-turbo.com this christmas but i want to swap out my 5-spd for the getrag. but the question is is it really worth it? i want to attempt this myself, i know that i will need to bang out the bottom of my car if i am not mistaken to make room...any other custom work that i should know about??any one ever attempt this project themselves before?? and can i use my same driveshaft or must i upgrade that and the diff?
  16. HA i am the shop my friend lol! i changed the clutch about 10,000mi ago myself, along with the pressure plate and throw out bearing. Thats what i thought the noise was then, the throw out bearing. however this sound has been plaguing me long before i swapped out the clutch, i gues i am gonna have to take it in to get it checked out, no way around this one...thanks for the help though.
  17. Not to sound like an idiot but where and what is the pilot bearing?? and if it is a bearing in my tranny is that a project i could tackle...replacing a bearing..i can change clutches and timing belts and valves...can i do it?? if not i give up!
  18. it is a new pressure plate and it will happen in any gear, it is very obvious if i give it a fast run for a good minute...after that when you hit the gas you can def hear it, could it be my fly wheel i didnt resurface it, it has a about 110000 miles on it??
  19. Here's a good one for all you sc pro's.... Ok I heard a high pitched squeeling sound from what i thought was my clutch when i would hit the gas, whether i was in gear or in neutral, it didnt happen all the time but only while i hit the gas. So i replaced my clutch, and throw out bearing. yet the sound still remains and there is also a sound like that of a piece of plastic hitting the spokes of a bike. I cannot figure it out it is not performance hindring just annoying and embarassing...Is it my tranny...replaced its fluid....my cat?? what what what!!! i cant seem to figure it out....please somebody make it stop!
  20. how about glass headlights for a 97 sc, are those even manufactured at all?? i hear rumors but find nothing in my search???
  21. actually i was able to detach them quite easily the way that soarer479 suggested through the wheel well, maybe your model year is different. listen up guys i took out the lights put them in the oven at 260 degrees for 7 minutes, there are a few screws to take out before you do this!!! i was easily able to pry them apart. DO NOT SCRAPE OFF THE FACTORY GLUE!!! after i cleaned the inside and outside of the lights i put both pieces back in the oven and reheated at 260 for 7 more min. took the pieces out and put them back together. let them cool then apply some silicon glue along the crease mark of the assembly. works quite effectively. is it worth all the work though....kinda they look ok ill have some pics up soon, but its not worth the time, you will be out a car for a good night maybe 2 if u run into some problems. ild rather go glass to be honest, but untill then at least my plastic lights will do. :D Thanks for all the help guys- J_Lee84SC
  22. they have yellowed on the inside so i am taking them apart and detailing the inside with some compound and polish, to start with i was going to get an HID kit but not sure where to get a good one, im trying to find out if you can use the is 300 setup for that.
  23. thanks for the help i will post the before and after pics later this week after i finish the process!!
  24. i need to take my headlights out of my 97 sc300, but cant quite figure out where to start, how many bolts are holding it in, and how the hell to get to them all, is there a trick, must i take off my bumper? is there a manual or web page i can go to?? any help is greatly appreciated!!!!
