I recently returned my 2013 GS 350 for a 2015 RX450h. So far, everything has been very good with the car performing as advertised. One thing I do not understand is why, in later model years, there's no guideline assistance when the backup camera is in use? I understand the 2016 RX450h has this feature. is it that difficult to program the 2015 version? The guidelines in my 2013 GS350 at least gave me a frame of reference to follow.

Anyone else have this concern and is there anything that can be done to solve it, short of turning the vehicle in for a newer model?

Google and you will find complaints about the lack of backup camera guidelines on the generation 3 RX and that the RX sold outside North America has them. I suppose you could ask a Lexus dealer or Lexus corporate if guidelines can be added but I doubt that you will get anywhere.

Both our Toyotas (2012 Prius, 2014 Sienna) have backup guidelines including the additional predictive guidelines that move with the steering wheel. I would have assumed that Toyota would have put these guidelines on all their Lexus brand vehicles but of course they didn't.

On my 2010 450h, the guide lines are an option accessed in the settings.  You can turn them on or off.  Have you checked your manual to see if you can set yours to on?
