Traction Control System Q's

Recommended Posts

Hello, just last month I aquired my bone stock '02 IS300 coupe  and I have a few questions about the traction control system. More specifically, the "TCS off" button. Does this button truly disable the wheel slippage control :D ? Or does it just lower the sensitivity of the whole system  ? It doesn't seem to make a difference which drive gear I'm in (E-shift 5 speed tranny), the TCS still fully functions when the rear wheels start to slip on acceleration after I have pressed the "TCS off" button. I'm also considering the supra 6 speed tranny swap, as this car will be my DD/drift machine (the auto tranny doesn't give me as much control as I'd like) when I'm done with the mods. And yes, it has the optional LSD. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

The following phrase or a similar one is the owners manuals of a variety of Lexus vehicles:

"If only the TRAC system is turned off, the TRAC system will turn on when the vehicle speed increases."

Doesn't anybody RTFM? (RTFM = "read their owners manual")

I just purchased a 2003 ES 300, pristine condition with 208,000 miles. The tires are pretty well worn and I would like fellow LOC members to recommend their favorite tires. I am in the SE so no driving in snow with a 70% city/30% highway driving ratio. More interested in comfort and quietness than performance. Any recommendations will be welcomed with your comments.

Has anyone had a problem with the springs in the controller (mouse) not returning the joystick to the center when it is not being used? Mine lays to the right when not being used. I am wondering if anyone had previously repaired it to normal working condition by replacing items inside?

Hello, I recently purchased a 2004 GX 470... we love this vehicle; however, the DVD remote control is missing. It is very difficult to operate the DVD player... every time you start the vehicle, you must set the emergency brake, and start the DVD all over again. There are two different remotes that I have found, I was curious if these vehicles originally come with both remotes, and if either is sufficient to play the DVD player.
