Please Need Tire Recommendations Asap

Recommended Posts

Hi i am new to this forum and hope that one of you can help me with the tires for my car as I am riding on a donut and need all 4 new tires like yesterday.

I had originally purchased my 2008 Lexus IS250 with Bridgestone Turanza Tires and the drive was smooth and quiet. Love the comfort of the drive with the bridgestone.

However, my husband replaced the two front tires with another brand not sure of the brand but i think their some japanese brand. Anyways the problem I have is that the drive is rough and noisy. Because tires aren't cheap.... I've had to deal with this until the time comes to replace all four tires.

I am now shopping for all four tires and want to make sure i buy the right tires this time to get that same comfortable, smooth and quiet drive that i have been longing for . The dealer recommended i go with the Bridgestone Potenza RE760. I am currently shopping around and am considering getting them, but would like to know which is a better tire and do they both provide that same smooth quiet ride. The BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE760 VS. DUNLOP DIREZZA DZ101?

Please any information that you will be able to provide that will help me purchase the right tire would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You might check the reviews and customer ratings at http://www.tirerack.com/index_w.jsp

I had a set of RE750 on my LS and they were the best handling tires I've ever bought - didn't last long but there probably weren't made to and the fun made of for the relatively short life (22,000?). I suspect other brands/models of ultra high performance tires would not have lasted any longer.

I use NITTO INVO tires on my 2007 IS250. I have about 115,000 miles on the car and get around 45K miles on a set of these tires, so I'm ready to buy my 3rd set. I like a very quite ride, and my driving style is average (not to agressive). You can rotate these tires side to side so they maintain their quite ride characteristics.

I see you are from FL, so the NITTO INVO tires would work well for you, as you can use a Summer Tire year round.

Take a look at the post in the Tire Forum on the NITTO INVO tire on the IS250 for more information - http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/55687-nitto-invo-on-2007-is250-25k-mile-update/page__hl__%2Bis250+%2Bnitto

Thank you to all for your kind response & recommendations. I will definitely look into the Nitto tires and compare the price to the Bridgestone. Being a female I always thought all tires were the same until I got my is250 and came to realize that every tire does not give you the same performance. So now I am very picky & selective with the tires that go on my car.

You have all been very helpful.

Thanks again 😊

One final note is regarding your Tire Dealer. Try to select one that provides FREE Rotate and Balancing. Even if you pay a few dollars more for the tires, Having them rotated every 5K miles will keep them quiet and help them last longer. Thus saving $20 every 5K miles can add up pretty quickly!

I think that the most recommended tire I have seen in various Lexus forums are Continental Extreme Contact DWS -- at least for all season. Being that you are in FL, you may prefer summer only tires. Research on Tire Rack is truly your best bet.
