psckrat
Hi; Just took my new (92) SC400 out in the snow. When I raised the trunk lid with about an inch of new snow, not only was it diificult to raise, but it would not stay up. There are no struts in the trunk to assist with raising. Question? Is the an 'easy lift' out there, what about remote opening Thanks Bob
JDOwen2
If you pull out the rear panel in the trunk you should see a strut cartridge on each side. You almost have to climb into the trunk to see them. Considering they are 10 years old, it's time to replace them. You can find them on Ebay or from one of the Forum supporters. I've never investigated remote trunk access. Might be out there somewhere. Enjoy the ride and don't forget to wave.
bean_8044
You could replace a strut with a linear actuator, but thats going to be about $
KY3TS
go to autozone and order them for about $25.00 per "trunk lift" as they are called-- the part # should be 95270--this is for a 1995 sc400 but the lifts should be the same. have autozone check that. good luck
psckrat
Thanks to all responders. Went to AZ yesterday ordered lift's about $25.00 per unit. Looking forward to installing. Btw got a 'universal remote trunk opener'. Be interesting to see what is involved. Thanks again
