  1. Resolved issue. When problem first appeared I pulled the fuse inside the car. This killed power to the radio, but did not fix issue. I RTFM and saw that there is a second fuse (in the engine compartment #23) that is also fro the radio. Pulled and replaced it. Lo and behold problem went away
  2. While attempting to determine the caue of poor AM reception (Jiggle antenna, check for bad ground, etc) the radio just 'stopped' every light on the radio display is lit, something like CFPEI FF FFFF reading left to right appears in the radio display. None l of the functions (tape cd etc) function, it appears as if the radio is 'locked' Antenna will not go up, tape will not eject, appears to have no power. Pulled and Checked fuse. it's ok. I figure it can't be power, otherwise the display would not show anything (As it did when I pulled the fuse) . I am begining to think it may have something to do with the security. As I did not touch anything other than the antenna I see no way the radio itself could have been effected All feedback appreciated

While attempting to determine the caue of poor AM reception (Jiggle antenna, check for bad ground, etc) the radio just 'stopped' every light on the radio display is lit, something like FF FFFF ... some other stuff, and on the right side all of the functions (tape cd etc) Antenna will not go up, tape will not eject, appears to have no power. Checked fuse. it's ok. I figure it can't be power, otherwise the display would not show anything (As it did when I pulled the fuse) All feedback appreciated
  4. Re the Radio. I don't listen to the Phillies (to depressing) but I do listen to 1210 in Phila. Same problem though. AM is TERRIBLE, some stations come in ok, but 1210 770 both strong stations sound like signals from Mars. On my other cars not a problem. FM is fine BTW the stations that do come in are generally weaker stations (Local bucks county stations). I have checked antenna and for groud problems, found nothing
  5. I am leaning towards a missing body plug as the culprit. However I have gotten 2 answers when I inquired about such. The dealer tells me taht there is no missing plug, they want to take out the carpet, backseat, and charge about $400.00 to diagnose the problem, Then perhaps it mau have to go to the body shop. Local mechanic who replaced the tranny mount tells me that the plug undder the right front seat is missing. JC Witney sells an assortment of plugs (120) for about $10.00. Is anyone aware of a 'PLUG MAP' or some such thing. BTW it rained really hard the past several days (Driving rain), no leaks. If it was the doors or the roof I would have had a pool in the car, but not the case. Has to be coming in underneath
  6. Thanks, My first thoughts were something like that (leak around door), however when I did not see/feel any water around door area I dismiised it. Is the water coming in at the door seals or thru the side panel. If thru the panel is that not a sign of a bigger problem. Perhaps I just do not understand what is happening, also is the VAPOR barrier just a sheet of plastic, or is this a dealer item
  7. Hi; I had/have a similar problem( Rear dirvers side fllor board wet). Checked for missing plugs, none found. area of wetness appears to be in center of passengers side rear floor, noting on seat, or doordoes not go int front. very puzzling
  8. When staring car today, all seemed well, I noticed the WW's seemd a bit slugish, but thought nothing of it. After driving about 5 mi or so noticed that the radio cut out (But stayed on) when Turn Signals went on, not a good sign. On way home things only got worde. Finally elec power was down to 0. Got car hoe, but it is totally dead. Last mod was to have CC display fixed, Seemed to reinstall ok. It would appear the the alternator may be at fault, dealer cannnot look at it for a couple of days. Currently am charging battery, See if it holds

  11. I just reinstalled my CC after having it repaired (bulbs) . All appeard to go well. However when I took the car out I noticed that I get no cold air . I ran the self test got code 00, which I assume means All is well. Got cold air before removing cluster All functions appear to work, get heat when you dial up the temp, just no cold air Any ideas Thanks in advance
  12. My 92 SC400 has a couple of missing clips(buttons) in the trunk. Contacted dealer re them, special order, price arm and leg. Anyone know of secondary source
  13. Looks great. What was level of difficulty to install.
  14. Does any one know the Light number for the Door Panel I pulled the light assenbly it is a ICHIHOH 12V. No info on the Bulb itself Thx in advance
  15. The other day I noticed a 'shutter/rumblig' at about 70Mph, I powered thru it and at 75-80 it disappeared. Very slight but noticeable. Car gets appox 25MPG on long trips, runing at 70-80 most of the time. Other than above car performs great All comments appreciated
  16. Thanks, This does sound like the proble, and I do have a wet rear floor. Any ideas as to how the water gets in, rear pass flor. seat dry, no water stains on roof. Lots of rain last few days. My thanks again
  17. 92SC400 with Nag.... 12cd unit The amp will cut out, I noticed it happens often, but not always when I hit the brakes. Radio stays on, if I increase the Vol to max I can hear it. It is pretty obvious it is the AMP, and not the receiver itself. Same goes for CD I have read a number of post's re grounding, this seems to fit condition, but not sure Thanks in advance
  18. OK; Here is latest on this issue. I live in Bucks county Pa, am currently in Atlanta scheduled to drive home on thursday. As I did not to dive the 850 miles with no AC, I found a local AC Shop. (AUTO KOOL) These people were great. They found the problem (busted flange). They replacded it, converted the unit to R134 took about 4 hours or so. Total cost $260. Which included $90.00 in parts. Very professional, and appreciative of the business. So thanks to all. BTW Re the leak seal I assume you spray it at the fittigs.
  19. Turned on AC today, Light came on, set to colls. Does not blow cold. I am pretty sure it did yesterday. Engine revs do not pick up when I turn off AC. Hopefully only Low Freon, or what ever they use. ANy IDeas Thanks in advance
  20. I may have the same problem. Do you know what size the welded nut is, would like to try an insert before going to a welding shop
  21. Hi; Yesterday I was clearing some clutter from the car (92SC400) and noticed the flloor mat was wet. I removed it and saw that the floor was wet as well, not damp, but pretty wet. It was pretty well localized to the floor on the passenger side. I looked for leaks at the Sun roof, noe. Notheing wet by the windows, or on the inside rear side panels. I dried it out pretty much yesterday. This am I checked again at is was soaked (it ranined last night). Again the only place effected was as above Any ideas Thanks
  22. Thanks for the info. Kinda makes sense about the electrical loads. I noticed yesterday that while listening to AM, when I used the Turn Signals I could hear them thru the radio, pulsating static. Will try your suggestions
  23. Took my new 92 Sc400 (97k miles)on first long trip. Filled tank in Wilmington De drove to Durham NC. filled up again (overnight stop in DC). 1 last stop about 30 miles from dest, could have made it no problem, but gas was only 171.9 for SUPER. Total trip 850 miles averged over 20 MPH. Car drove like a charm. Was running at 75-80 most of time, caught mysel at 98+ on more than one occasion while passing. Washington DC to Atalnta about 650 miles Left at noon arrived 8:30 IF not the best, certainly one of the Best cars I have ever driven.
  24. I think I know the answer to this, but when I went to get an aftermarket remote trunk release installed the dealer asked the question. I think it is electrical, but better to check than be sorry. Thanks
  25. Contacted a locl Clifford dealer. Posed following 1. Extend range of current unit. Reply no 2. Install remote trunk open Reply only if electric trunk opener installed 3. Turn on inside lights remotely Reply only if current KLE turns on lights 4. Remote start Reply Yes My take. If all of the above is true, and based on replies to post it would appear the best approach would be to disable the current KLE and instal a new multi function unit (KLE, Lights,RmtStart,...)
