billydpowell Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 what is a good product to use to keep your headlights clear? mine are in good condition and I want to keep them clear.
1990LS400 Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 If the headlight lenses are original and still clear on your 12 year old LS400's, it would seem that the weather and road conditions under which the cars were driven was mild and clean. Polishing them might do more harm than good since they come from the factory with a clear finish on the lenses. That the headlights originally had a clear finish was obvious when I refinished the ones on my 00 LS with a Crystal View kit several years ago. The refinishing process involved sanding the lenses with very fine sandpaper and essentially removing the damaged clearcoat before applying a new clearcoat substance that was part of the Crystal View kit. Last winter was especially hard on my headlight lenses and I need to refinish them again. I assume they will look like new after another refinishing just like they did the first time. Maybe you don't need to do anything to your headlight lenses other than keep them clean.
