My lexus/toyota specialist changed my fan clutch, and now the engine has a much more powerful sounding roar. Is that normal? He says it's air movement that wasn't happening before because the fan wasn't engaging.

Changed mine out a couple years ago and found out there are 2 types, one for towing, the other is not. They likely put a tow package fan clutch on which never seems to stop engaging. When I compared the 2 they were different. One had much bulkier spring assembly. The tow one also impacts fuel economy.

What country are you in? There was never a "tow package" available for any LS here in the USA although there was in many other countries. I doubt if any sort of "tow package" fan clutch would be available here.

You may be right about the "tow package", but dpellet is right that there is the option when ordering a fan clutch. I encountered the same thing in March of this year.

What is the part number for the tow package fan clutch. I can't find it in the parts lists.
