lexfourcam Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 i've noticed after i've driven my car for a while the steering isn't as smooth and it starts to groan, and i've checked the ps fluid in the resevoir and there was bubbles all over the dipstick, hasn't leaked any ps fluid either, i was thinking it could be a hose...any ideas? TIA
etex Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Sounds like you have air in the system. Bleed the system.
lexfourcam Posted May 23, 2010 Author Posted May 23, 2010 I've never flushed a power steering system before, how does it work on the Ls?
dcfish Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Have a look at this link: Bleedy brakes What does the brakes have to do with the power steering ?
lexfourcam Posted May 24, 2010 Author Posted May 24, 2010 I've bled brakes on many systems bikes, cars, etc, but where is the valve to release the air in the power steering system?
92ucf10 Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Same site posted above also has a tutorial on power steering flushes: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/steering/psflush.html
lexfourcam Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 Thanks for the link, going to change my oil soon so i may as well flush the power steering while i'm at it.
