cardona6569
Hi, It is my understanding that the post cat O2 sensors seldom go bad, I would leave those alone unless you got a code for them. Them when you get a more qualified Mechanic get them replaced, you do not want to short any computer circuits. Their only job is to notice if the cat convertors went bad. jcrome04
Jeffstpetebeach, Thanks for that. I assumed the double colors went together, wasn't too positive on the others. I'm still doing some searching to find out for sure. For now the project is on hold for a couple more days.. If you find anymore info please share! B) Cardona, I didn't just decide one day for fun to replace my Post cat O2 sensors. My CEL came on, after having my EGR tube replaced. throwing codes P0430, P0420... (IIRC) which are cat inefficiency codes. In order to get to the EGR tube one thing he had to do was unbolt the passenger side cat, which may have ruined the gasket, or maybe one of the sensors got damaged in the process. So instead of just spending hundreds for new cat/s, and possibly not solving the real problem, I've already replaced the post converter gaskets, and just need to change out the sensors now. Always take the cheapest route first B)
blake918
Hey Jordan, I remember (it's a good thing I remember since the new search function is almost worthless! lol) reading this thread: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...c=42632&hl= It's two years old, so I'm sure he got his car back together, maybe try PMing Gumart for the outcome. He doesn't post much, but he still hangs around here, and if you can't catch him, I know Gumart and can get a hold of him for you.
jcrome04
I know I remember being SO excited for the new search... but now it's just impossible to use! haha THANK YOU FOR THAT LINK BLAKE!!!!!! I'm going to wait to see if my CEL comes back on after doing those gaskets. It's stayed off since I put them on, let's hope it's for good.... *knock on wood* So with that link it looks like... OEM--------------------------WALKER White -------------------------- Grey Blue --------------------------- Black Black ------------------------- White Black ------------------------- White
jcrome04
UPDATE: Still no CEL. I'm going to hold off on the install unless it comes back on. **still knocking on wood** B)
blake918
No prob, keep us posted on this Jordan! I think I told you that my 420/430 would come every 3-4 months. I'd turn it off, and it'd be back in 3-4 months. Hopefully your fix lasts a bit longer!
jcrome04
Yeah I remember that when I first got my codes. I think I'm just going to return the sensors for now. Use the money for something more worthwhile.. like bills! haha, If I do end up needing them down the road I can always buy some more! Still no CEL.. Also.. here's a pic of the new gasket vs. the old one B) Maybe this is why I was throwing a CEL? LOL! New gasket on the right.. and yes... that... MESS on the left is the old one :)
Jeffstpetebeach
What some grated cheese with that. So you didnt put the new one in. I was wondering if the color codes that I gave you were correct. Did you ever totally find out. thanks Jeff
